This is probably a stupid idea but I was just thinking what about personal websites for GATT members but through GATT sorta like a my space or social network kinda site.
Post back what you guys think.........Im doubting it would be practical or possible.

Maybe a more sophisticated version of the profile.
Not that I know what the hell else you can put into it but Im all eyes to see whats comes up here.

A sort of gatt member blog is not a bad idea at all.

even if personal blog pages are issued off the gatt site, perhaps we could create a GATT group on facebook, as well?
imho, myspace is pretty cheezy. reminds me of geocites and angelfire circa 1998

maybe you could use a planetplanet. It's like a news reader, but it publishes that onto another webpage & feed. http://www.planetplanet.org

a blog is very much like a forum, just for one user. Like having your own thread.
in fact, I've seen men do it with smf. They have a separate topic for a user and map it to a url like: www.carigamers.com/czar
Not very slick, but it works.
I'm thinking though, if we go for a blog type setup for members, we would do it off the main site. www.carigamers.com, instead of the gatt forums itself. Makes for an easier url.

oh, hi5 is a block of cheddar as well, but myspace takes the cake, in my book..
with these 'pimp my hi5' proflles people have now.. falling hearts, midi tunes and garish colours...
hi5 copied the worst of myspace.....
i still have my profile.. but not for long.

personally I couldn't care less for either Hi5 or MySpace... but a long time ago I got a Hi5 account so I maintain it to the very least... Joined MySpace too, but realized it was another "Hi5" type thing that I don't really care for, so I deleted...
Why not just post your Hi5 or MySpace URL's?
I dunno how this will turn out tho, just another excuse for some users to post spam???

Whereas myspace and hi5 are kiddie friendly and allow you to customise the crap outta the fonts and colours etc so you can make your own personal page from hell, facebook is way more sophisticated and aimed at the college-level peeps. In fact, the purpose of facebook is to help people find friends they went to school with, be it college, or primary school. It's about linking up with friends, both old and new...without the hideous looking pages.

Was pretty impressed with facebook for the reasons czar noted. It came across as a mature site. I'm not as young as I used to be, so that was appealing. One thing that was really strange is that they almost make it a chore to hook up with friends. As if they are overly concerned that you really are friends with the person in the first place. Not even allowing you to see profiles or such until a connection is made. Stalkers beware.
That is totally unlike the others, that have a more "loose" stalker friendly approach to profiles and friends by default.
Overall, I'll have to agree with the sentiments here and say that Hi5 and myspace have a more "young crowd" feel.
Serious thread hijack and by mods and admins to boot, lol

Ok so I dont feel as young as I am lol ppl say I'll collect pension when I'm 20 and I go for NIS like every friday. But aside from that not to big on the social scene thing bout being openly know by little immature children my age lol. Is big men we dealing with here and yes big women also. :S anyways.....amm i forgot what I was going to say........damn............hmmmm..........oh yes the stalker mode part ie Hi5 and so forth is fun havent you ever heard of Hi5 shweeat in D.E.S.T ? lol Just sniping ppl on hi5, comments and over all FALING (FAL - means Fighting A LIME) or (Friends Are Lacking)
But the facebook option sounding gud to go for here......rite now locally the youths taking facebook to the extreme and then it'll just die and become a next hi5 or myspace....another 9 days talk.....However there will always be GATT long live GATT.
plz note my hi5 account has not been updated since about 2004....I just realized you can make a personal URL for it the other day. Yes I kno I'm late but there's no time like outtatime..ing

TOTALLY SPOT ON!! We refer to it as facecrack at school...and it's strange, cos I never really got into these social networking sites...I had a hi5 account, but have since deleted it.

Yikes. The library's banned all of the 'Chat' websites such as Hi5 and Facebook, so I can't access it at work here. Hopefully, I can wrestle some internet back home from my borhter to see what this is all about...
