How could you play an FPS without Voice Comm? That defeats the purpose, everyone just running around BLIND? No Intel from other team mates? They need to really change that SOON....

Ppl shouldn't make a big hoo-hah about that cuz the game's online is pretty darn good and fun... with or without voice comm. The only kind of comm you got is the short phrases that can be sent during gameplay, such as "enemy spotted!" or "Move out!"(all of which i'll admit are sometimes pretty blasted useless when you're in cold war). And pre-set phrases on the online menu.

So basically we have to be like robots and use the same repetitive phrase over and over and over and over again, while trying to kill the enemy.....you get the point...

I'm sorry, but that's like Peter Griffin on crack cocaine with buggers in his nose, "PETARDED!"
Title: Re: Wii Sweatage

no it's not.

People have played FPS games on the PC platform for well over a decade now and seldom used voice chat.

Not that they couldn't, headsets and software like Roger Wilco, Battlefield Communicator, TeamSpeak and Ventrilo have been around for years.

The games were still fun. Your scores at the end of the game did the talking for ya.

Granted, voice chat is an excellent and welcome addition to multiplayer gaming, but I won't go so far to say playing online without it is PETARDED. lol

Exactly.

By the way, this thread was made with the intention of organizing wii sweats online, if somma allyuh want to juss lie around complaining well be my guest, just plz lets not have those arguements contaminate this thread, there are ppl that are serious about it and are probably willing to give it a chance, or even make the best of it, that's what I believe.

Actually i was kinda referring to those trinis in the U.S, i haven't a clue where to rent in Trinidad... i've heard of a place but cant quite remember ATM, but didn't you rent Red Steel last year?

No, i just know they can be rented up there, but i do wish i lived up there, only ting i could relly do is organize with meh cousin who live in Texas to get games for me, since it actually a bit cheaper...

oh i thought you rented it... but if iz a game that got positive reviews and dey say it worth it, then buy it not rent it, but if you could play it somewhere, or borrow it, thats fine too :P

I assume he meant M-rated wii games, medal of honor heroes 2 isn't m-rated its T for teen, that was the online FPS i was talking about before.

So....  I hope there will be Smash Brothers Brawl sweats since its almost here!!! If you want to know how to make a friends list for SBB check this link http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/wi-fi/wi-fi03.html (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/wi-fi/wi-fi03.html)

Basically when you get the game all you have to do is post your "Friend Code" on the forum and we can get some battles going, as for getting voice chat maybe someone can setup a Team Speak server and we can use that... just a suggestion since wii doesn't have any in game voice chat. Either way its should be fun cracking some skulls.

Nintendo really need to make that online aspect of the console a little easier.

i was wondering the same thing i addded all teh codes i see and yet i neevr see anyone online..there is a site i found that uses a lil webpage prog too see who online and u send them a challenge and once they accept the website gives u their frend code automaticaly..so its faster than sending email and waiting for a respond its like achat room u get it in two two's...i tried online but u hadda get places close by cuz it does lag funny..not lag like teh games freezes but that u press the jump button and the character jump a sec after...slow control response...:S but u get used to it or it str8ens out itself..i wanna try sumone in trinidad self so if that lag still will happen....

If that was directed to him, me and the rest, then yeah that could work, if its voice comm you looking for then skype is the way to go, takes up less bandwidth and has better audio quality, but then again, msn is one of the main reasons i use the computer...

Your call

Oh and arwnightmare, i added you to my wii and brawl friend list, but it says you haven't registered me yet :S

Hey all, seems as tho the wii section needs to be put out of its misery here lol.

I just wanted to recommend Dokapon Kingdom to you guys. Was a bit skeptical at first but the game is really fun, it seems as tho the developers made the perfect hybrid of Mario Party and a fantasy RPG. Really do take a look at it, it's got my vote. If I decide to keep my wii, I will definitely be picking this up.

yea, I think the online component in general is lackluster. The console itself was mad fun (and still is). My son played mario kart online incessantly until we took down the Wii at the onset of the school term. That is one Wii game where the online really worked sweet.

It's still great when family and friends come over. Also, gems like Zelda, Mario and Metroid make it work the $$ imo.

Looking forward to firing it up again as Christmas vacation rolls around. As well as getting a few more titles.

Post by: AR!Ø on November 28, 2008, 12:33:09 PM
Not sure if Dokapon was on PS2 before, but if it was then I might just consider getting it for that if I can find it since there's no real wii-necessary make-or-break component in the gameplay (that I've seen).

Now that I've also seen that Castlevania Judgement is serious vampire B@!!$ that's out as well. I lookin for positives, things to stop me from dropping wii from serious considerations but I just not finding them.

Conduit, the new FPS looks promising, but if it is as slow as metroid then I'm going to pass on that. It has online multiplayer and nice HL2-esque weapons tho. Metroid started great but I got bored of it cuz of how slow samus moves and shoots and all that. Lol COD4 spoiled me.

Currently the only thing that has me holding on to my wii is Tales of Symphonia 2. Hopefully by the time I get that, play and finish it there will be more on the table, but I'm not holding my breath. Fingers crossed for Golden Sun 3 before the wii's death, and that doesn't seem likely with attitudes like this:

umm...what about it?

How long can you really play that game before getting tired of it? sure it has a duel mode, which is awesome in it's own right - but then what? I would much rather play the 360 or PS3 version just for the extra polish.

The Wii is fun for the first few months, and then nobody plays it anymore..sad

I think everyone here knows that the Wii's strength doesn't lie in the online components of its games, writing that out makes me feel that we've been through this time and time again, which is true. Being a 360 fan and all, I guess opinions like those are biased because you love your 360 so much, I don't blame you, that console is awesome as ****, but hey go easy on its competitors.

yea well mario Kart has died

Proof or it never happened.

and Smash brothers Brawl, I notice nobody on here calls for sweats anymore..the Wii is so Online handicapped...no voice chat, no easy way to send messages in game...it's just so...DSish....

So...the fact that the GATT Wii owners no longer post challenges, friend codes (with a few exceptions) and whatnot, means that they don't play anymore...?

Fingers crossed for Golden Sun 3 before the wii's death, and that doesn't seem likely with attitudes like this:

http://thewiire.com/editorials/post/5757-ways-square-enix-can-support-the-wii

Lol just so you know, Metroid was never known to be a fast-paced FPS, it's not even an FPS ;P  So I don't think it'll be right to compare Conduit with Metroid, they're two different genres....err..games.

ToS 2...I'd really love to pick that one up, but I hear it wasn't received very well. :/

Golden Sun 3...would be THE best RPG of the mc year if it ever comes out, but, only if it's as good as the first 2.

K im on Kart alot these days
