So what are your views on the hardest game or games.

The moral of the game is to free some stuff(can't remember) and get some stuff(really can't remember).

But this game kept me up at night thinking how do I get that thing up in de corner.

The Adventures of Bayou Billy (NES) Sweat and tears
Tron 2.0 (PC) The Health drainage in this game is unbelievable
Nosferatu: wrath of malachi (PC) Real freaking stress
Rygar (Arcade) Hand and brain co ordination and reflexes at it's best
1942 (Arcade) Takes a lot of practice
Deus Ex (PC) on realistic level it's not impossible but still a worthy challenge
Serious Sam The Second Encounter (PC) on serious level is impossible
Hitman 2 Silent Assassin (PC) on the hardest level...it's not impossible it just takes a while
Kingpin Life of Crime (PC) The game does blasted cheat!
MotoGP2 (PC) Just try beating this on championship level or above
Postal 2 on the hardest level, beat that and I'll give you a cookie

Kingpin...I eh even gonna go here. I agree the game does C-H-E-A-T!

Try this one - Shadowdancer for Sega Genesis. Can't even figure out WHERE to mc go...

Shadowrunner for SNES. Gawd...I lost three days of my mc life here dat I go NEVER get back...Blasted long game and yuh could dead SO blasted easy its not funny. And the ending is SO lame...

Paperboy 2 for SNES...ANY man who could beat street 99 in that mc game from stage one comming up and not die-I will PAY to see that. $100.

Mission impossible on the NES was friggin hard too

Not tuh mention Ninja gaiden 2 and 3

And who remembers Caveman games on the nes was good fun but mc hard in the later levels.

you have HP and FP...enemies at the beginning at the game drain ur HP in one hit...but doh worry you have 15 Fp to live and enemies doin 2 damage to it even though u cant buy potions and dungeons are long with traps...

The thing with hard games is that they are progressive in skill level. Even on the easiest skill level, the levels get progressively harder, that is a feature in most games, so that your skill would adjust to the increasing difficulty. The trick is to find all the secrets, and unlock everything.
But that law of gane nechancics does not apply to Shinobi, the first two levels were remarkably easy, until you get to stage 3.a, then the difficulty level jumps exponentially.

I have yet to see another game that does this, even all the older games were progressive in difficulty, well i guess Prince of Persia, the first one, in the floppy, comes close.

(ordinary attacks and magic does drain that much ll yes that little bit there) or just to survive.
but its cool fun eventually

Contra shattered oldier is not really hard once you see the boss patterns just real frickin LONG

Well said. The games didn't look good, so that had to be seriously hard.

Infact, all those atari games. They just keep going and going. It wasnt a competition of who beat the game, but who make most points.
M"I was also hard....and metal gear. The whole castle vania series was rediculous. spikes came down on you and missed you by a pixel when you do it perfect.

Maniac Mode in Street Fighter EX2 plus was hard. Not really hard per se, but indeed, many sleepless nights would be spent trying to beat one of the missions therein.

TMNT 1 for shizzle (never could pass that 1st top down level with the van)
ANY shooter (Lifeforce, 1942, etc) for the NES
Those dastardly Mega Man games for the NES (ESPECIALLY MM3!!!)
Phalanx (another shooter) for SNES
Silent Bomber for PS1 (a real gem though)
Ninja Gaiden (all) for NES

Comin to think of it, NES had all the super-hard games of yesteryear.
