Hey guys,
If you are interested in working in the Media industry (Television), i have some jobs for you to check out. I am accepting resumes on behalf of WinTV in Chaguanas for Master Control Operator and Video Editors. Please be advised that this is for the more serious minded individual. Starting salary average 2500 - 3000. It more or less depends on what department you are placed into. Master Control applicants will be given special consideration for those people with vehicles and live nearby. Training will be provided although i think it best that you have some pc knowledge (Master Control). For the Video Editors we use Macintosh systems. Shifts will vary depending on department. My email is Jdcrys21@yahoo.com and cell phone TSTT 4757015 Digicel 3101730.
We can setup interviews based on mutual convenience.
Jdcrys Shinkuu wishes everyone a safe and prosperous new year...

That doesn't sound bad at all, JD.
If you don't mind, though, just a few questions:
- When training is provided, would it be done from the ground up (showing how everything works and so on and so forth), or would it be just an overview of what you'll be doing for the company?
- What is the minimum educational level required for this job? Would they take trainees with the 5 O' Level requirement, or do they require degrees/ relevant experience for a certain number of years?
- How long would this job offer last? I think I might have a suitable candidate for the job, but he's not going to be back until the 10th.
In any case, thanks for the heads up.

Training is provided as on an overview however, someone with a brain would also be exposed to the entire process so yea unofficially they will get the experience wholistically.
5 O's are fine, although we are open minded, it helps if you have previous work experience (Selling DVDs round the corner doesnt really apply here lol)
Job Offer lasts until my superiors find enough people i guess, ill keep this thread upto date as we go along...

ok so for the video editors what level of editing experience is required ? also what programs ? final cut ? adobe premiere ? I love the editing thing but I got no experience whatsoever with those programs. Sony Vegas ftw.
hmm I live like 10mins drive from there...
-
Mostly Final Cut Studio and like i said training will be provided if you want rb i can drop a tutorial dvd u can watch to familirize yourself with the software... i edit on both but imo they are not that different. just figure out where the controls are n you are good.

:( is that supposed to be an attractive salary for a video editor??
if so :( i feel sorry for editors

Considering that said video editors would most likely be 'green', given the training, I suppose it's a start.

I was hearing some talk from this guy I know who does the editing thing, $200/hr is his fee.... also said that TV stations don't pay as well as you'd think but its good experience if you plan on staying in multimedia.

Keeping in mind that you can charge that rate if you are really good.... you can not expect people to pay you if you get one project n take more than 2 hours.... ne way a good editor (not great just good) can do a 30 min project in 4 hours... and mostly you may do just news .... 30 sec stories.... (15 minutes of editing...) so you do the math....lol its still really easy n its a start...
