Title: The ZALMAN 'FPS-gun'
Post by: Arcmanov on April 17, 2008, 07:20:29 AM
Its a mouse with a gun handle, to put it simply.

Details here (http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/Product_read.asp?Idx=284) on Zalman's website.

Review here (http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/zalman_fg1000/).

Now this is rather intriguing, but can you imagine the learning curve involved?

Using a mouse is great, but there's nothing like the tactile experience of squeezing a trigger while playing an FPS,
which is what made Goldeneye so great with that N64 controller.  Microsoft, I'm certain, recognised this and addresed
it with the design of the 360 controller.

I can barely keep up with the online competition as is.  I'm just not ready to make such a drastic peripheral transition.
Zalman may have a bit of a hard sell with this one.

gun handle you say?? HAHAHA... (sorry for the outburst)

can you imagine trying to import that into this country? like the FPS vest that 'simulates' being shot ...it have camoflage artwork all over it -> can you say bells going off in every customs inspection depot, and a whole nother 'bullet-proof' car on de port scenario again??

but there's nuthin better than actually squeezing a trigger to waste some sod (remembers 'Golden eye' for sure :D)
