THE PAIN JUST KEEPS coming for Nvidia, this time in the partner space. Two of their key 'alpha' partners have just defected.
It is nearly impossible to make money selling Nvidia cards right now, NV squeezed partners margins too much, and when the going got rough, prioritised its own margins over partner survival. This gave partners the choice of popping like a zit financially or moving to less green pastures.
Like Gainward before them, two of the largest ones, XFX and EVGA have defected. Want to bet Nvidia doesn't know yet? In any case, partners leaving a company like rats leaving a sinking ship is never a good sign, lets see what happens in the coming months when the pain really piles on at NV.
The really interesting part is who they defected to, and it isn't ATI. Paperwork has been signed though, and it is a done deal.

hmm @ mysterious 3rd entity... who isnt so mysterious with the big blue on their chest right.. hmm
well so whos left? bfg, pony.. umm.../??

Third line of cards in the mix??? To think XFX and EVGA bailed on them that's some serious stuff since those are typically the cards I would look for in terms of NV.
Seems like the silicon gods have frowned on NV. I wonder what would be the result of this fallout...
-
Hmmmm....VERY interesting development here.
For them to bail out like that means that this 3rd 'entity' has something
that is potentially highly competitive to current or future products. [/speculation]

Could it be those Savage 3d guys?
Pressura for nvidia in truth though, they have no more reputable brands like evga to sell heir wares. They are most likely gonna have to jump in the retail game themselves.

I dunno, I want to see more reputable sites giving this information than the Inq though.... >_>

HardOCP (http://"http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MzM4MTcsLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdCwsLDE=") contacted both re-branders and they both denied the story.
also please post the a link to the mentioned article

But did they deny beginning to sell DAAMIT parts? Either way I have spoken to someone more in the know and he agreed that they wouldn't drop NV parts, but diversification is a must. Should be interesting to see eVGA and XFX HD4xxx series cards.
