wow
its really been that long lol wow for real
i had a 32 meg voodoo and my friend had one too
and we did the whole slap together thing
it was awesome, then there were the TI series
and it was good, i think the 4800 was my fave card of all time
-
This is nothing short of amazing. How recently that was and simultaneously how far away that is.
Ill always remember my first video card. A Voodoo3 3500, with tv tuner integrated and a 16mb framebuffer and freaking unreal tournament breathless. Those were the mof***in days.
-
dem was de days boi. i cyah even remember the name of my first card. still have it in a box somewhere in the house. 8MB of pure goodness......well not really. couldn't even play Quake 2 when it came out.
-
Hmm...my virst Nvidia card was the Vanta, that ran Quake III real nice :D.
My first video card would be a Trident 1MB VLB video card though, good times, couldn't run Doom properly....
-
Never had an nvidia card, Ati for me meng
-
Well, I didn't build a 'serious' gaming PC till 2003, and even then, my first
card was a lowly GeForce FX5200 128 MB. I thought (foolishly ) that it was
the shiznit, until I saw a pardner running a FX5950 (on UT2004) at a LAN-party.
I think a part of me curled up and died when I saw that right then..... :ko:
-
lol the 5950 would be my second fave card
was a true competitor to the evil 9800 of lore
-
My first video card was a GeForce MX440, VIA KT333 was the chipest of choice at the time
The next was a GF 5900XT that i worked well for years, (i think RB have that now)
Had an Radeon 9600 somewhere in between

hmmmm after my TNT2 i upgraded 2 the 5200. i, like Arcman, thought i had the best. bought one for me an another bredrin. sad ting bout it he burnt his out like 2 weeks later an mines still runnin on one of the systems home.
-
well i only recently got into spending money on ah pc..(it aint done yet..lol)
but my first graphics card was a geforce2 mx 400... i remeber maxing out unreal tournament @ 1024 x 768 and i feel i was a king yes :ko:.. sad..lol.. i remember my fren getting his fx5200 too, we all thought it was the shizznit.. until ah next padna install his fx5700ultra... we jaw drop.. we were amazed by the prettiness of max payne 2.....
i kept my geforce2 for yearssss.. until i finished high school and built a lil redemption machine.. got a substitute ati card (x1550) then i got this current one (8800gt) and i'm satisfied for now..

Youngons... my first nvidia solution was an 8MB onboard RIVA 128
Second was a Geforce 3 Ti200
I still have the Ti200 working in a good old faithful PC home. The RIVA Z128 is also still alive and kicking in a simple office PC.
I moved onto *coughs* redder pastures subsequent (in the form of a Radeon 9600, 9800Pro, X800XT AIW and 1900XT), but now am sporting a GREEN Geforce 8800GT.
-
for reel. eventually for some reason ur does always go over to the RED side. as u can c i pumpin a hd 3650 now in my lappy (damn needin a laptop to go 2 school). runs games best tho. but still hav another rig with with a 7600gt in it.
-
hmm can even remember what was my first gcard... all i know is thinks start to look sweeet with the voodoo2
then went as follows for me:
geforce 2 -> 9700Pro AIW -> 7800GT -> 8800GT
