Nope, the 9800GX2 is like 8800GT in SLI.. well perhaps a little more so. The GTX280 is their flagship and performance wise will outperform the GX2. THe 4870X2 is 2x 4870 1GB cards in Xfire effectively. Which bests the 8800GT SLI setup on most if not all accounts. Hence if you check the price of the GTX280 and the X2 you'll see which cards are the flagships and which are just 'old stock'. Don't get me wrong the GX2 ain't a bad card/s persay, but at the cost of 2 PCBs and no DX10.1 compatibility and other features DAAMIT offers, it's bound to be cheaper.
