E3 2010 is just a few weeks so the new should start rolling it this week.

If the video game world were following its normal cycle, console makers would be revealing details of their next generation systems in less than two weeks. This cycle is anything but normal, though – and so at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), game makers will instead chart a new path.
Rather than introducing new systems, Microsoft and Sony will both introduce motion sensor controllers that are intended to both attract a new audience to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – and extend the lifespan of those systems by at least another three years. Nintendo, which is still seeing great success with the Wii, will focus instead on once again innovating the portable world.

Independent video-game publishers, meanwhile, hope to energize their top franchises to boost sales, after a disappointing 2009.
Here's a look at what to expect from some of the industry's big players:
Microsoft:
The motion sensor, currently code-named "Project Natal," will have its debut three days before E3's official kickoff, with an opulent coming-out party that will feature a performance by Cirque du Soleil. The retail name of the system, its full functionality (both gaming- and non-gaming) and several titles that will utilize it will be unveiled. The retail price might remain under wraps a bit longer, though, as 'Natal' isn't expected to go on sale until late this year.

Microsoft will also likely further broaden the Xbox 360's non-gaming functionality, introducing a new general entertainment partner as it has the past two years (when Netflix and Last.fm were integrated into the system). Hulu.com has been rumored as a contender, but there are several hurdles that would need to be cleared (though this would be a good opportunity for the television- and film-streaming service to introduce a pay model for).
Gamewise, "Halo: Reach" will be in the spotlight – as it's expected to be Microsoft's biggest title this holiday season. And "Gears of War III" – next year's tentpole – will have plenty of exposure as well.
Sony:
Beyond the Move controller, Sony may finally follow through on plans to introduce a paid premium service for its PlayStation Network online portal. This would be on top of the existing free service, with added benefits, though exactly what those will be is still unclear.

Wall Street is also watching to see if rumors of a new portable gaming device prove to be true. Whispers indicate Sony will unveil the PSP 2 at the show – a true sequel to their handheld system, as opposed to last year's PSP Go, which offered changes to the existing hardware and was generally considered a sales disappointment. With the growing strength of Apple in the handheld gaming space, Sony will need to radically shake up its PSP product line if it hopes to remain competitive.
Finally, expect Sony to give 3D a little lip service, announcing a U.S. launch date for a system update that will let the PS3 play games in stereoscopic 3D, along with backward compatibility for several existing titles and some downloadable new ones specifically designed for 3D. It will turn heads, but without a 3D-capable television, which have only gone on sale in the last few months, it won't impact many players.
Nintendo:
Nintendo typically has the biggest surprises of the show, but many of those have already leaked out. The biggest is the forthcoming release of the 3DS, a handheld gaming system that shows games in stereoscopic 3D without the need for special glasses. It's a virtual certainty the company will have the system playable at the show – and many expect Nintendo to announce a launch date of this holiday.
The company will also give more details on the Vitality Sensor it briefly announced last year. Like "Wii Fit," this peripheral seems an odd fit for a gaming machine at first glance, given its purpose is to relax players, rather than excite and engage them. But Nintendo has proven itself quite adept at making seemingly incompatible peripherals big sellers.
Another "Zelda" title will be unveiled at the show as well – and fans might hear a bit more about the next installment in the “Pikmin” franchise as well.
Activision Blizzard:
With 2010 shaping up to be a strong year for the industry’s largest third-party publisher, expect to see plenty of details about the next "Call of Duty" game – due this fall. Titles from the Blizzard side of the house – including "Starcraft 2" and the upcoming "World of Warcraft" expansion – won't be on display, though, as the company will unveil those at a separate event later this year.

The reboot of the "Medal of Honor" franchise will be one of EA's chief focuses this year. It is, at present, the company’s most important game of 2010. While no one expects it to hit the sales numbers of Activision's "Modern Warfare 2" last year, investors are hoping for a very solid hit. Look, too, for more details on "Star Wars: The Old Republic," the massively multiplayer online game that won't be out until at least mid-2011, if only to keep stoking fan interest.
THQ:
THQ and Dreamworks will announce a partnership at the show this year, which is likely more than a simply licensing deal. THQ may well join the number of publishers creating 3D games, given Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg’s enthusiasm for the technology. The company will also give a progress report on several games key to its ongoing turnaround, including “Homefront,” a first person shooter in which Americans must retake their country after a North Korean occupation. The game may be a dark horse this year in the action genre, which could impact sales of both "Call of Duty" and "Medal of Honor".

Crysis 2 beta sign-ups beginning

The New Xbox 360 is definitely on my Birthday / Christmas List. Black Ops looking good, the new MGS title for Kinect looks REALLY good, Halo Reach is Halo Reach...BESS and Gears of War 3....WOW....Good Show Microsoft!

Alright the Microsoft Press Conference has concluded and to me it has a hit an miss factor, first the hits. Call of Duty Black Ops, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Gears of War 3, Fable 3 and the unveiling of the new Xbox 360 system that goes on retail later this week. The miss for me was Kinect. They showed good things for it but presented them very badly. But a very strong showing by Microsoft indeed.

I am liking the new look Xbox 360. Still don't like the placement of the HDMI port.
My thing is...what if you wanted to use a HDMI-to-DVI cable, but didn't have an audio
system with an optical input? They should have done it just like the PS3, where all the
outputs are separate. Other than that minor issue, I don't see anything else wrong with this new evolution.

Not a nintendo fan but the return of Goldeneye, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong as well as the 3DS has me hyped. Far better showing than last year, I'd say they have Microsoft conference from yesterday beaten.

Sony has Twisted Metal, inFAMOUS 2, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3, Socom 4, LittleBigPlanet 2, Patapon 3, Final Fantasy 14, Limited Editions on Medal of Honor and Dead Space 2, etc...
I know you say cross platform not getting the points but for realz all those big name titles: Black Ops, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Brink, Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor, Portal 2, Rock Band 3, Metal Gear: Rising etc..etc.. Thats win for every camp that has them.
Yes Nintendo was epic win this year with all those nostalgic offerings.
I mean Goldeneye and Donkey Kong =O
But in sake of being fair, each of them had their strongpoints! :)

I know...from a technical viewpoint..the technology is really great.
What hit it home was when they demoed that Ubisoft fitness game, and the Kinect analysed her body stats, height, measurements.
The automatic splitscreen when another person entered the room .
And also the movement tracking where the camera followed the user about the room, also the gesture controlled menus.
Plenty people I know brush Kinect off as a gimmick, but it really is a great step forward in in-home tech.
I may not play games with it..but as you said KINECT IS F@#KING AMAZING !!!". lol

Sony's press conference definitely wasn't the highlight because it didn't too me show enough exclusives. The one game that would have turned that around and one I was really hoping for - Resistance 3 was unfortunately not mentioned (wondering if its even in development then).
Nintendo definitely won which is good considering the last two years was toots. They actually had two games that I wanted to play on the Wii which is amazing considering I've never felt to play any Wii game. However the real spotlight is their 3DS which I will definitely be getting.
Kinect is awesome technology but I have to agree with Sony on this in that without buttons its going to be limited to what it can do. If you look at the Kinect Star Wars Game the character cant even move forward properly, its an on rails slasher. I believe Kinect games will be even more casual games than the Wii. This is probably Microsoft's strategy but it holds no interest for me.
I'm not a fan of motion gaming. I will get the move only because it looks like it will be implemented in most shooters from now on and it is definitely an improvement over the Wii controller. If it helps aiming then good, if not well my nephew can use it to play some kiddie games.
Also anyone know if a hard drive from the 360 is compatible with the 360 slim? Mty 360 RRODed a while now and at some point I will buy the slim but I would hate for my 120gb to just go to waste.

as someone said, at d end of the day, its all about the games. and nintendo had a very good showin with games, from zelda go right back. not to mention d recent mario galaxy 2, that got a perfect 10 on every review site. only 7 games ever do that, zelda: orcarina of time was one :)

They said that you can use the transfer cable to copy your files off the old Xbox Hard drive to the new, so they got you covered...

OK, so I watched the Ubisoft conference.
Notwithstanding their DRM sloution on the PC, I have to say...Ghost Recon: Future Soldier makes SOCOM4 looks like child's play. Seriously.
That game was a must buy from the day it was announced
Nothing else really wowed me. I am no longer an Assassin's Creed fan though. They lost me at 2.

NEVER have I wanted to play a game as much as The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
I always say, never underestimate Mr. Miyamoto. Somehow he just manages to keep innovating. That man is a genius.
I feel I will have to borrow a Wii, and buy a copy to sweat that yes. As a longtime fan of The Ocarina Of Time...I simply
MUST play it somehow.
...and don't tell me anything about GoldenEye. I will simply SLAP you for reminding me that I do not possess a Wii. :laughing7:
I still have my N64...can't find my GoldenEye though, but damn...after THIRTEEN YEARS, I still consider that game, and all its MP
experiences as some of the best EVER!!!
Of course it goes without saying that i want to play that TOO!!! :)

Finished watching the Sony, and EA conference...
From EA, of course Crysis 2 and Bad Company 2: Vietnam...sure buys.
What I DIDN'T expect was a re-imagining of sorts of NFS: Hot Pursuit. I am liking it VERY much.
As for Medal Of Honor...gad-DAYUMN. That live, 24-person MP demo was GREAT...and interestingly it was on PS3.
I have no doubt that the DX11-powered (aka, superior :)) PC version might just take over from Bad Company 2 yes.
From the Sony conference...
I was rather impressed by the Move games on show...particularly 'Sorcery'.
I was hoping to see some SOCOM 4 gameplay, especially with the Move, but no 'DICE'. :lol:
The additional Medal Of Honor MP footage had me bawling though...as did the additional Dead Space 2 gameplay.
Overall, the Sony conference was technically impressive, but the only PS3 games I'm buying for sure are Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4.
I like the Dead Space 2 Limited Edition though, which includes Dead Space: Extraction, which previously only appeared on the Wii.
Might just pick up this version after all.
With respect to 3D, Sony need to understand that we don't all roll like that. How they expect a lowly comms tech to afford a fancy-schmancy
3D TV, when I could barely afford a new HD-TV as it is? :( Then to rub salt in it, they use phrases like 'the only true way to play it'.
...and I am not a Gran Turismo fan...but GAD-DAYUMNNN at the HD-graphical look of that game. The bar will be raised...again.
With the number of games on show, Sony lookin good...even if a lot of them are multiplatform. Not everyone can afford to have every console.
I must say...everybody impressed me with some specific games this time around. I can't say anybody 'failed' at this E3.
Good showings all around...but the nod goes slightly in Microsoft's favour this year, with Sony right behind.
Nintendo had a good showing as well, but they didn't impress me as consistently as Microsoft and Sony.
All in all, now is a GREAT time to be a gamer. 2010 into 2011 is going to be GRAND!!!

Medal of Honor, as someone said, is MW2 and BC2 lovechile in truth. I Cant waitttt for that to come out. In the mean time Vietnam would have to suffice.

once a game multiplatform, getin d pc version for myself is a no-brainer. cause d games will always look better on pc (unless ur name is fifa, i still cannot understand why d console version are so superior to pc).
But yea, pc is my prefereed platform. So ur exclusive game must be of such calibur to warant me purchasing said console.
Zelda Twilight Princess was that game for me, and purchased a wii without ah second thought.
Gears 3 looks like d winner for xbox, but since i enjoying gears 1 on pc, in dem swets, not in a hurry to buy ah xbox.
Killzone 3 seems to be d taker for ps3, but again, i have nuff fps on pc, so dat go wait. a Jack 4 fuh ps3 wud be win though, i buying ah ps3 anytime dey decide to release dat game.
So at d end of d day, no xbox/ps3 for me (depending on kinetic games for xbox).
Ill stick with my trust ole pc, fuh bulletstorm, rage, bc2:viet, medal of honor, etc, etc, etc.
And my HDD Modified wii as dem lustful nintendo games come out :)

Even before 3DS was announced, a number of insiders speculated that 3D would be just one of the system's many features. This proved to be the case, as the system also has high quality visuals and advanced wireless capabilities.
But Nintendo may have kept quiet on one of the biggest features straight through E3. Today's Nihon Keizai Shimbun details what appears to be a software install feature for the system.
According to the financial paper, 3DS owners will be able to install software to internal memory. You can install multiple games simultaneously. Doing so will eliminate the need to swap out cartridges when switching games. Instead, you just select your next title from the main system menu.
The paper states that gamers will be able to put this feature to use when they're on the move, as they'll no longer need to carry games with them.
But how will it work? How will Nintendo make sure that people don't copy games to multiple systems? And will the 3DS have enough storage space to copy over multiple carts?
As one might expect, the Nikkei report did not get into specifics. We'll have to wait for comment directly from Nintendo.
For those wondering if Nikkei is simply referring to the ability to download games similar to the current DSi Ware program, this does not seem to be the case. The paper lists this feature as new for the 3DS and something that matches up in class with the conversion to 3D."

wey ive been looking out for info on the 3ds for some time now looks good but i dont see how the two cams will allow you to take a pic and view in 3d. I dont like the big button on the left i think it throws off the design(but thats jus me) Want to try rock band 3 with the piano and and new real instruments^^. Still waiting for a real piano game though...

that big button on d left is a joystick, and 2 cams = 2 snaps in rapid sucession at slightly differnet angels, which when used together reproduces the 3d image.
which is how i suspect the 3d screen is able to function without glasses. rapidly flickering different images/streams into ur eyes to emulate 3d.
none of what i said is facts eh, just my hypothesis
