In Prey 2, a source close to the game tells Kotaku, players will take on the role of a federal air marshal who is aboard the commercial airliner seen crashing in the spaceship early on in the original game. Prey 2 takes place during the same time frame as the original, but with this different perspective, we're told.

The 2nd vid was EPIC... the live action... OMG!!! I am SOOO SICK to my stomach of the 'stereotyped' STUPID WHITE behaviour oooooh I have a camera, i'm not supposed to be using it here... HOW many movies have we seen this now? Have you EVER seen it in real life? if so didn't you just want to PUNCH them in the face or knock em over with a fire extinguisher? I mean really? seriously? you're gonna use THAT for a game trailer??? they ought to FIRE their PR manager for being a douche nozzle... Let games stick to games, leave the live action to fan made trailers or a real action movie.

Well ent the guy said this is the other side of the Prey universe supposedly taking place while Tommy doing his shenanigans. This new guy was on the plane we saw crashing in the first 1. Hinting that we might encounter Tommy and may even have to hunt him. Plus those portals were for getting around that ship not so? Either way I don't mind.

i don't think this taking place alongside the original. the setting alone should be proof of that. i think Tommy would have some weird extraterrestrial reasoning as to why he's alive so far in the future. and i still think they should have left portals in the game in some form. something tells me they left it so that people wouldn't make any comparisons to that other portal game. forgot the name. :P

Lol, was wondering why u was saying "that too far in the future for tommy". But all the other gadgets and upgrades they promising seems helluva lot better than portals.

Dawasi "Tommy" Tawodi might not be repeating his gig as Prey's leading man in the upcoming sequel, but that doesn't mean he won't be playing a part. even if that part involves doing his best impression of Journey front man Steve Perry.
Fresh from the Prey 2 Facebook page, this is the first look we're getting at good old Tommy in the ambitious open world sequel, and he's looking mighty fine, at least from what we can see. Killian Samuels, an air marshal aboard an extremely memorable airplane in the first game takes over as the hero this time around, but it just wouldn't be Prey without a little Tommy.
The Native American's "Don't Fear the Reaper" moment in the original Prey was one of my favorite moments in gaming history. The only way to top it is to have him soulfully belt out "Oh Sherry" in the sequel. He's poised in this picture. Just let nature take its course.

This news was out a while but seeing as nobody else posted it might as well update the thread. This was high on my list but ah well it'll be worth the wait with Max Payne 3 and those other games out there.
