No secret is safe on the web, Datatagg3 from our forums spotted this infortmation.
If this true, it gonna be a great machine that will trump current Gen. yet to me its a stop gap for Nintendo. Meaning it will be the top of the heap for awhile, yet short lived as it will be trumped when MS and Sony bring out there new machines.

Shame on mess for being so short sighted on the kinect. That aside, SW looked clunky, they need to refine those controls, all other titles so far are kiddie oriented, so its not for the older crowd so far, but then it was never aimed at us anyway. Still Its a damn good workout.

And i honestly dont know how dey going to get that product to hardcore gaming level.

And out of curiousity what makes you say they aimed it at the hardcore? last I checked the Wii wasn't targeted at the then 'mainstream' and i've always seen the kinecy AND move as attempts to kinect (had to) to that untapped market... otherwise WTF has nintendo been doing SOO successful since they launched the Wii?

I think for Kinect for suceed it must target the casual which it is doing and seems to be doing a good job at it. I don't see how Kinect without buttons could target hardcore, plus Microsoft already has a very strong hardcore base.
but that Star Wars game did suck.

Ghost Recon Kinect support was pretty sweet. The weapon customisation part i.e. Gameplay kinda iffy.
Tomb Raider. MW3, Halo 4, Gear 3, all looked awesome.
The casual Kinect games were kinda meh though. They could have skipped that whole segment and showed more blockbuster games.
The casual games get enough coverage on the news and the showfloor of E3.
Anyway EA next! BF3! ME3!

Sony seems to be dropping the ball, a lot of these added Kinect functionality for major games are simple voice commands which they can technically do with the move as well.

Even for media selection, i go find an play my movie faster on a traditional remote, than using kinect.
And ur house have to be quiet, and nobody have to be walking around, for that thing to work good.
When soemthing good it good, when something is utter rubbish, is rubbish. Kinect = utter rubbish.
After all this time, thats d best dem could come with? Makes me not want an xbox even more.

They saved the more mainstream hardcore games for the individual game developers presentations
Why show the same thing twice. MS makes the console, each developer makes the game. No need to steal your partner's thunder.

also in response to what nintendo do. Their FLAGSHIP TITLE! uses the wii mote VERY SUCESSFULLY, im speaking of Zelda Twilight Princess, and ive beaten d game using d wii mote and it was EPIC!, they got it right, D wii was designed at mainstreme and they was sucessfull, and whatever limited hardcore titles on d system (zelda) utilized it as well, and that was just a port. D new Zelda Skyward Sword built for wii from ground up.
And nintendo looking to inovate again with their new console/controller.
Sony was smart enouhg to take d wii mote, and make it more acurate, as nintendo do wiimote plus to add more acuracy, which is required for hardcore gaming.
Dat kinect thing cannot reach any hardcore croud. Star wars, fortsa, fable, all them thigns is hardcore games they trying to use kinect with, and they all fail! FAIL!!!!!!!!!!

Read all over d net, all d game analyst agree, kinect sold ALOT of units, what ppl lookign for now is games. ppl boguth kinect based on faith in microsoft to devlier on games, both mainstreme and hardcore, and from that showing, they did not deliver on hardcore.
If i had an xbox and bought kinect expectin to see some games, id be pissed right now.
I even held off on d ps move waiting to see hardcore titles first, i know alot of ppl bought d move in hopes of seeing hardcore titles later down d line.
So sony press confrence would say if they pleasing they gamers.

D tomb raider was gameplay, most impressive thing in d conferece imo.
Cant wait on that title, if is xbox exclusive, that combined with gears 2/3 mite sway me to d platform.

Kinect was never geared towards the hardcore gamers, it was more to compete and to try to bring the casual crowds to the Xbox 360, which it has done based on Kinect sales alone. They never showcased it as a hardcore FPS gamer's dream...remember Nintendo had seized the most market share for casual gaming with the Wii and its motion controller, so Microsoft's and Sony's response to that was the Kinect and Move..I say Job well done by Microsoft for that achievement..and I use my wife as the example, no way was my wife playing Xbox 360 before the Kinect. She is now addicted to Dance Central and will surely be asking me to get her Dance Central 2 when that drops...

Yea, mainstreme it good, but they trying to do hardcore, and thats where d fail come in, if u buying kinect for d wife or kids to play, fine.
But, fable, maden, star wars, etc? no wife/kiddie playing that, that is games for we to play, and it epically fail in that reguard. Nothing to make me want to buy a xbox, especialy seeing i have wii for mainstreme aready.
Anyways, skyrim is showing and it is looking wicked.

As a kinect owner I bought it for the family titles NOT mainstream, you'll have to rip a controller from my COLD DEAD HANDS (K&M as well). I honestly will play games like Kinecy sports and *gasp* Kinect Dance Central... YES A DANCE GAME, one that I can enjoy in the privacy of my home (with my 2 left feet) and the company of my GF and other female friends that absolutely LOVE it. I NEVER bought the Kinect with expectations of it being for my hardcore fix, WHY you may ask? because its just not practical to stand up for the 6-8 odd hours it'll take me to complete a normal mainstream title, WORSE yet holding my hands in the air or aiming... i've shot a rifle before... it was HARD... holding a gun, aiming, recoil, all those REAL experiences just CAN'T be mimiced on ANY console... and honestly I don't want that experience. If I want an accurate shooter where I have to be physically involved, go play paintball or such.

Yes.. Tomb Raider gameplay was a major highlight of their conference.

The consumer market is RULED by females and dance titles are RAVE with females... it JUST IS, Messiaah I know yuh disappointed with the lack of hardcore, it's a expectations vs reality miss here, but if its any consolation, you could always buy it to watch females enjoy themselves XD

I dont expect everybody to feel d same way, same token i doh expect man to want me admit kinect good when IMO it FAIL BAD lolol.
And i think everybody agrees, for hardcore, kinect is pointless.

You have to consider HOW the kinect works and think about if it really was EVER designed for 'hardcore'. EVEN IF it was hyper sensitive and worked as accurately as a move, imagine standing and moving ur arms, and rolling around ur room for hours... not gonna fly. I never figured the kinect for hardcore and I don't know why you did either.
The most integration I can see kinect with hardcore titles is like what was showed for Ghost recon, modifications, voice commands like ME3, THAT's where I think integration into hardcore MAY come in, perhaps even throwing grenades whilst using a controller or knifing, Basicalyl LITTLE things, NOT full blown... just doh make sense to me.
In the same vein, I don't see using the MOVE working well over extended periods of time. Imagine pointing that thing for 6 hours.... just try holding your cell phone at arms length for 30 mins... not gonna end well i'm sure.

It is why nintedo GOT IT RIGHT, cuase in zelda, it was little things utilizing d motion, not big things.
Its what microsoft shoudl focus on, that full blown kinect experience for those 3 hardcore games is so stupid i feel to slap d guys on stage.
Subtle things that make sense YES, do it how nintendo do it for hardcore, they got it right.
ANd fully agree with what u say, i dont want to stnad up, or pointing at a screen for hrs.
But i played zelda for hrs on end no problems atal. using d WiiMote.

Not into the EA sports titles, so not upset about their integration with Kinect, I think they will start to do the little integrations, note they didn't show much in Ghost, so time will tell whether they will allow mixing of the control scheme with the kinect. A good integration with MW and FPS titles would be voice commands, like saying team to Delta 4 and popping up location indicators on the mini map (w1n investigates patenting ideas), also things like commanding Unmanned drones, etc. We'll see where they go with this.
In the mean time kinect sports and dance central ftw.

Its funny the original SOCOM had similar on PS2 and at the time I thought all future titles would follow but look how long its taken to start becoming mainstream.

MW3 ten minute in game footage... not bad at all, polished, lots of action (as expected), some nice over the top kinda scenes... as good as BF3 has looked so far, I want to see what it looks like on a CONSOLE. (YES I AM GETTING PC VERSION), but I want to see if it'll be a console worthy title as well.
On another note, Messi, yuh also have to consider that yuh cyah sell the kinect as a 'sideline' for a game, meaning those little tweaks and extras that would really fit well integrating the kinect into a mainstream titles isn't a kinect seller, it's just a nice to have. WHat they showed was to showcase the mainstream appeal of the kinect which is what they need to sell.

The most integration I can see kinect with hardcore titles is like what was showed for Ghost recon, modifications, voice commands like ME3, THAT's where I think integration into hardcore MAY come in, perhaps even throwing grenades whilst using a controller or knifing, Basicalyl LITTLE things, NOT full blown... just doh make sense to me.
In the same vein, I don't see using the MOVE working well over extended periods of time. Imagine pointing that thing for 6 hours.... just try holding your cell phone at arms length for 30 mins... not gonna end well i'm sure.

not if u use the sharpshooter then thats a different story that will get u tired
u just rest ur hand on ur lap and move ur wrist.......no arm waving and thing like the commercials like to show

Guess the price point of the NGP was a big enough announcement. Glad they didn't call a higher price. The media seems pretty happy with the 249-299.
Uncharted 3 just looked so awesome.. Resistance 3 too!
Not much was shown that we didn't already know about but it was a solid presentation.
@ Eroo, yea I believe Nintendo will steal this E3's show for that exact reason. I just hope the new "Nintendo" lives up to expectations.

First I thought was a farcry-esque game using the same engine and whatever but then I started adding everything together. Island+ destroyed boat+ missing girlfriend+ open world gameplay. I jizzed, Ubi caught me off guard with that also all "Farcry3" info previously said it was still in Africa. Guess that was a deliberate misinformation campaign? xD

I am very sorry, but so far, I am disappointed by what Microsoft has on offer here.
I'm not a fan of Halo, Forza, Fable, or even Gears (oh NOES!!!111!11)
It's pretty obvious what core subset is being catered to here.
The ONE standout was Tomb Raider. THAT one surprised and excited me.

...and I'm not interested in Kinect (yet), so all that content/functionality is lost on me.
I actually laughed at the end of that Star Wars Kinect demo. The biggest reaction
from the audience was BEFORE the demo.
As much as myself and Messiaah butt heads sometimes, I'm really inclined to agree with
some of his opinions concerning Kinect. From last year to now, I'm not seeing the
'huge leap' in the quality of content and gameplay that Microsoft promised.
Oh, there are titles that the kids will eat right up, like the Disney game, and the
*ROFL* Sesame Street game, but if I were a Kinect owner that 'jumped in' with both
feet and bought one last year...I'm afraid I would be pissed right now.
(...and I laughed uncontrollably at the 'object capture' demo, because I KNOW that some twisted perv out there WILL scan een he piggy to Xbox Live. :laughing6:
On the flip side, you can see the improvements in the quality of PS Move-related
content/gameplay between last year and this year.
...and then there's the PSVita.
I aint gonna lie, despite the PSN troubles, Sony hit em HARD this year.
I'll take in the EA and Ubisoft press briefs early tomorrow morning.

*Sigh* - As far as gaming is concerned, you guys are obviously thinking only one way...hardcore. Yes we are all grown ups and expect more hardcore gaming, but as far as Kinect is concerned and Microsoft's approach this year at E3, its blatantly obvious that they were focused on more casual games for the younger crowd to attract and keep parents of kids of those age groups. Thinking ahead, they are basically setting up the new generation of kids to associate gaming with the Microsoft brand.
This leads me to next year's E3, as that little teaser at the end with Halo 4 and the rumors of the next Gen Xbox kits already in the hands of devs, I would bet that Microsoft is positioning itself to reveal the next Console at E3 2012 with a kick ass line-up of exclusives starting the holiday season of 2012, leading the way with Halo 4.
Why is it that you guys focus on the now, instead of looking at the big picture. Obviously Microsoft is preparing to move on from the Xbox 360 and leaving it to the kiddies and Kinect. The Next Gen Xbox is what makes more sense for the Hardcore crowd seeing as the hardware should be far superior.

I think the Kinect is doing a great job at appealing to the casual audiences but you are right about one thing Messiah. The target Kinect audience does not watch or even know what E3 is. MS could have just run through a trailer of Kinect titles and spent more time on other stuff.

I understand your point Messiah, but you missing my point. Microsoft obviously didn't care about E3 this year in regards to the "hardcore" crowd. Want to know why? The Hardcore Crowd already is anticipating Gears of War 3, Halo: CE Anniversary and MW3...Those 3 titles ALONE will occupy the next years worth of "hardcore" gaming time on the Xbox 360. So you see, regardless of the lackluster list of titles this year at E3, Microsoft is already shifting into next gear for E3 2012. Where Nintendo would have lost some steam after the New Console reveal this year, and Sony will not have the PS4 ready for next years E3, at least there hasn't been any talk much of dev kits for the PS4 being distributed yet. So, as far as I see it, Microsoft is playing the sleeping giant this year. Their fan base is already in play for Gears 3 and Halo, plus whatever cross platform games are due out between now and next year. So they are not worried about losing any hardcore gamers. They are attracting NEW casual and kid gamers and family oriented crowds to Kinect. Yes, they showed all the Kinect games to the gaming journalists, but it will also be aired on news networks across the country and I guarantee TV ads will be soon to follow. Come Christmas time, what parent going to not want Elmo on their TV for their little ones to play with? Hmm?
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from Micro$oft this year. The Hardcore gamers on 360 already have their line-up set for the rest of this year into next year, and I expect a helluva show E3 2012 with the new Console reveal. Their strategy is obviously to focus on the Next Gen Xbox and beyond. They have established themselves to the hardcore gamers with the Gears and Halo franchise, still catering to the cross platform games, now building the casual gaming following with Kinect, which should put them in a position to integrate the Kinect to the Next gen system and guarantee a great 6 years from 2012 onwards. With Xbox Live already being the online monster that it is, there should only be better things to come next year.

Also as I am watching GT.TV interview EA, John Riccitiello JUST say what we watched yesteday with the BF3 demo actually showed gameplay from ALL 3 platforms... interesting... apparently there was an indicator showing which platform was being used at that time.... hmmm

As "behind the times" with graphics as nintendo might be, visuals are definitely not the only thing that makes a game. Nintendo is on top with innovation. The move they made with partnering with EA and other 3rd party developers is quite the visionary step in opening back up their market to the "hardcore" gamers and at the same time they are keeping their casual gamers market with the integration of the Wii accessories and the family oriented genres they already have. Some of us will see it as an outdated console with a new paint job, some of us will see it as a fresh step towards innovative gaming. As a fan of all platforms i enjoy gaming across the baord and all we can do is wait to see the future capabilities of the Wii U and whatever MS and Sony have up their sleeves

The controller is clearly the highlight of the new console with a base system to support it. What difference wud it have made if they showed the housing unit for the CPU, GPU and disc reader? The fact is they promised competing graphics power and im sure the gaming community can hold them to their word

It can run it...how well is a question, because you notice the guy from EA quietly sidestepped that issue, and went to talk about the potential of its controller.
Now, looking at the Wii, it's without argue that its controller system is what set it apart. Will the Wii U controller bring as great a level of innovation? We haven't used the controller ourselves, so we can but speculate.

What's wrong with this? Do you know how easy it is to transport a Wii from A to B? The size of it is very compact and easy to carry unlike the ps3 and 360. Mobility is one of the keystones Nintendo looks at in the gaming world. It's simple and small yet promises to be a performer of sorts in presenting us with graphic detail we want to see on the next gen consoles.

I never said M$ didn't fail @ E3 this year, I was giving my guesstimate of WHY, which was that they didn't bother to try because they are focused on E3 2012. Comparing Gears and Halo to Uncharted, Infamous, Resistance, Starhawk and Dust is like comparing apples to oranges. Two different Fruits, but equally filling. The amount of people playing Gears and Halo combined, I am sure will outnumber the people playing Uncharted, Infamous, Resistance, Starhawk and Dust...Because as you said, hardcore gamers want something substantial. Quality over Quantity any day...I talking Multiplayer eh, not single player.
This is all IMHO.

Tomb Raider did look good. Strange Battlefield 3 didn't get more love from IGN.
Was really impressed with the Mass Effect 3 on 360 with Kinect. I hope they bring that functionality to PC (though I doubt). Kinda silly that Sheperd repeats the audio....could have just left it as your voice being spoken. Still, a step in the right direction, maybe for Mass Effect 4.
The avatar creation process in Kinect funlabs was cool too. Scan yourself in, clothes and all.

Obviously the PS3 and the Vita have the technology to do what the Wii U does. The question is if Sony will support it/push developers to implement features like that into their games.
The next argument is that a Vita "controller" costs $250 compared to a substantially lower priced Wii U controller. BUT the Vita is a full fledged console that you can carry out of the living room.
On top of that the Wii U controller will ship with every Wii U console therefore dwarfing the percentage of Vita to PS3 owners.
Bottom line, Sony could and should support this kinda interactivity. Clearly it's possible with all the cross platform features of Vita and PS3.

Wii-U = 4 controllers for d price of 1 vita (estimating here). Yuh not going to buy 4 Vitas to get d same expereince. Also.
Nintendo makes and inovates on their games as well. They will use d Wii-U controller better than anyone. And they have the inovative mind. Anything vita do similar to Wii-U go most likely be copy/paste of what nintendo does.
And some ppl just dont care about handheld gaming and wont be shellin out 250$ for a controller.
All that said, its interesting to see if sony tries to connect d vita and ps3 in that way.

Wow just read that and I couldn't believe they would do that. If you don't have footage to show off then show a logo. I remember one commenter stating that the Ninja Gaiden footage looked just like the PS3 version, now we know why.
Also I believe Halo 4 will be on the xbox 360. They mentioned that they were working on it years now and it scheduled to be released holiday 2012. Its still possible it can be a launch title for the next xbox but I doubt.

All i interested in from consoles, is 1st party / exclusive titles.
And i know nintendo will not disappoint when it comes to that. They are the best.
Though i must admit, ps3's slew of exclusives are impressive, hence d reason i bought a ps3.
Everything else, PC ftw!

A little disappointed in the "tech demo" presentation
If those trailers of Battlefield, Ghost Recon, etc...had been footage of the games actually running on Wii U hardware, Epic win.
As is, since those games actually ran on a PS3/360, I feel a little slighted.
In a way, Nintendo is only matching the playing field graphics wise. Not leaping ahead.
That maybe all they need (given the success of the non HD wii)

Just watched the ghost recon vid. Impressive.
Figured the tablet controller was more of an AMX thing but it looks like you'll be using that as a primary controller after all. Not 100% keen on it. Seems a bit clunky for primary use.

Last night i download d latest emulator for wii, and load up zelda tp, d new emulator allowed u to change d internal rendered resolution of d game.
It looking amazing. couldnt believe how good dey get that thing running on pc.
It looking rel rel rel good. So beating that over as we speak, prepping for skyward sword.
I mite run skyward on d pc too depending of it looks significnatly better on pc compared to wii.
Wii-U with native HD needs to come fast, cuase i spoilt on HD.

Mario Galaxy 2 worked at launch. Becuase d Mario Galaxy 1 tech similar.
Same with Skyward vs Twilight Princess. Different artstyle, but rendering tech more or less d same.
And d emulators more advance now than before.
So yea, i think skyward will work just fine. Hopefully no quirks.

They better amp it up with Wii U so it won't be as emu friendly. If hardcore supporters considering running a launch title on emu instead of the console, they should be very much afraid!

d Wii easy to emulator becuase d specs is shit, xbox and ps3 emulators alot harder to come by, if wii-u specs anywhere near xbox, no emu.
Also, i will only emu skyward if it looks better on pc than d wii.
Still buying d game doh. As i bought Twilight.
Dont think nintendo have to worry bout zelda fans not buying zelda, emu or not, that game sold.

Kirby was one of my favs on the Nintendo platform.
Not much love for him on Wii thus far (save for yarn, which didn't appeal to me....ducks into terran bunker)
Good to see the pink crusader making a strong come back.
Could be the last hurrah for the Wii with him and Skyward sword.

Kinda surprised Warhammer didn't make much of a splash @ E3. Leaving the RTS genre basically void.
