Was a huge fan of Gijoe in the past. Actually didnt mind the last movie so much, but It really was pretty mediocre. Cast looking pretty solid though (tanning notwithstanding)

And to think they passed up on Worthington and Wahlberg when they were casting Duke the first time, stupes. Some producers are really mofo's yes. Tatum is here only because he has a contract for multiple movies.
The first movie was decent but nothing memorable except for Snake eyes' scenes. This one however has a different director and better writers.

We have to wait another half a year for this??? >_<
After the bollocks that was the first one, better they take their time. I'll wait.

Thing is, this isn't the first one. Not even the same director or creative team.
I support this movie because it was directed by an asian....oh and also because they seemed to get rid of everything people hated about the first one. This seems more traditional, also similar to GI JOE: Renegades.

I must admit... this trailer put a smile on my face.
...but I get the sinking feeling that it's just a setup for Snake Eyes vs Storm Shadow round two.

Snake eyes VS Storm Shadow part 2 yes but not in the way the first movie focused on them way too much. This looks more well rounded. Actually reminds me of GI JOE: Resolute (not Renegades as I said in an earlier post).

Hear nah, hear nah, HEAR NAH... Bruce Willis is a boss.
That's why he had a daughter with Demi Moore and the child looks like him: Demi's hawtness couldn't override Bruce's epic factor.

Just got back 2 hours ago from IMAX and all I can say is that I was right my expectations didnt change they really made this movie for the hardcore fans while dissing the fans who enjoyed the first film which gave it the foundation to build up on.
Spoiler tags mon.

Movie was meh...6/10. Liked the first one more. Snake Eyes had the best scenes.
On the other hand, I'm digging the OST http://youtu.be/nU4GVoz3fYI (http://youtu.be/nU4GVoz3fYI)

THOROUGHLY enjoyed this. WAY better than the 1st film. Was expecting a lot of camp. Imagine MY surprise.
This movie spoke to the 10-year old in me...and that ain't a bad thing...at ALL.
Plot was wafer thin, but WGAFF... there were lots of 'splosions, man. :laughing7: Enough narrative loose ends to almost guarantee a sequel.

...and yet he still wants to 'add it to his Blu-Ray collection'. :/
It's either you like it, or you don't. He basically lists all the reasons why he thinks it 'sucked', but then still wants to buy it?
That 'review' is about as useful as a DVD-rewinder.

if he is a completionist why wouldnt he? I have every single retail edition of Call of Duty on PC and I have all the G.I. Joe toons from Sunbow straight to Renegades, have the Animated movie, Resolute and Rise of Cobra. I would get it also but I dont expect to watch it that often. Would rather watch Rise of Cobra again instead of Retaliation an just let it sit there an collect dust.

Indeed @ Reaper.
For example, I thought that EVERY SAW movie after the first one was utter trash but I made sure to see them all... Just for that sense of completion.

Ok now took this in. Went in with extremely low expectations and came away very very satisfied!
This was heads and tails better than that campy original. I literally bawl when I saw the Cobra Water Mocassin and the Hiss tanks... and that cobra commander outfit...winning!...and firefly was a bawse!
(yesss I was a massive Gijoe fan)
Loved it! 8 miniplosions out of 10.

Agreed. NONE of that signature GI Joe stuff was in the first one...but somehow it's 'better'.

IMHO I am highly critical of both films Retaliation is better. It's funny because I watched the first one a week ago again (making it the second time I watched it) and honestly it was a little tough to watch because it was a bit childish and boring, It's even worse because I watched the Blu Ray quality version and you get to see how awful the visual effects were, I mean Jeez and ages.... Retaliation was a bit darker, loaded with nice action sequences, better visuals and had better star power (ala The Rock and Bruce 'Die Hard' Willis) but it was still a little slow at some points.
Honestly I'm not gonna lie, I only watched Retaliation to see The Rock kick some candy @$$ lol
