Now THAT is sci fi. This young crew is doing it right. Paying serious homage to the Trek of old.
Loved Khan. Benedict Cumberbatch pulled off the role like a boss. Oh and if you haven't seen him as Sherlock Holmes, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Took it in yesterday in imax and it was gooooooood!
Highly recommend any trek fan to go see it and even if you aren't one like I am I still thoroughly enoyed it.

TW... I have to agree with you on ALL counts.
This movie is a direct descendant of 'Wrath Of Khan'. Loved the references, and the unexpected 'tie-in'. Now I'll have to watch the previous one again. :)
...but of course, I was there for the starships, and well, you know the rest. :lol:
The shots of the Enterprise rising from the ocean in the intro, and again from the clouds in the final act.....
*sigh*
I'm sorry...I'm gonna need a moment.....
That 'Dreadnought-class' ship was soooo full of win, that I was sorry to see it's demise.
