SO I just bought a new 1TB drive from a major PC store and found that they sold me the slowest possible drive ever
This drive designed for use in 24/7 video storage environments e.g. in a DVR. You'll be disappointed if you use it as a boot drive and looking for performance.
Cost: $500

why not use it for that?? SSD primary....and 1tb to store all of your "video" files.

I already have 8TB of storage via NAS ... having more is just being wicked
It was to use in a customer build, but I just can't accept the performance (transfer rates)...

8TB yes. You indexing the internet for google?

That would be me. I have 25TB so far. :D

The drive is 54k or something? I'm looking for more backup storage. Might be willing to take this off your hands.

I hope your house shielded against lightning strikes and/or EMPs.
It just takes one good power surge. :laughing7:
