Title: Titanfall
Post by: Arcmanov on October 27, 2013, 02:03:17 PM
I just realised that this stellar-looking title does not have it's own thread.

Release date has been confirmed for March 11th 2014.

Have a look at the website...you can preorder it from there...

www.titanfall.com

Of course you have to use some internet trickery to be able to access the US version of the site, or else is euros in yuh waist.  :(
I can confirm though, that 'Strong VPN' works...but it's not free.  The free VPNs don't seem to work on Origin-based sites anymore.

Check out the 'collectors edition'...   :awesome:

I certainly wouldn't mind having one...but not at the current asking price (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DB9JYFY/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00DB9JYFY&linkCode=as2&tag=e01d0-20).

berzerk sent me this torrent file (http://www.gamersyde.com/download_titanfall_angel_city_demo-31045_en.html) which can get you a video of the Angel City E3 demo.
Be warned, it's quite large and it's only about 5 mins long, but the quality is amazing.

I'm looking forward to this one...and I WILL be pre-ordering it.  :happy0203:

could also preorder here.

The only problem with Amazon pre-orders is that they don't charge you until release date...which, if you understand how credit cards work, could set you up.
Ordering it from Origin...you pay for it one time.  No need to try to remember to keep that ccard money available.  (Ah get setup arready :laughing7:  )

Not a nitpick, but just putting that out there.  :)

BOMBA! That , game, looks, awweeessoommmmeeeee!

The best part bout that last video posted I like. Is the removal of the COD factor.

I usually don't like "COD Type" games for 2 reasons.

1. Leveling system. If ah man spend more time in the game than u, he has an unfair advantage. I hate that. I prefer games like Quake, Unreal, Gears. Where every map, everybody starts off equal, whoever have more skill win, not whoever more thirst and spending hrs on end leveling up.

2. In "Cod Type" games, a few shots and yUh dead. Walk out ah room yUh dead. Man end up behind yUh, dead. In quake, unreal, gears. If such situations happen you have enough time to counter, and turn around the battle. So if ah noob happen to end up behind u, yUh have enough time to use skill to win still.

From what that guy saying they address #2 in Titanfall. Very very very brilliant. Go have to see how #1 works in titanfall. But I already sold. GG no Re.

Interesting revelation...

http://venturebeat.com/2013/10/29/titanfall-boss-we-only-found-out-recently-about-the-microsoft-exclusivity-deal-we-will-make-playstation-4-games/

Knowing EA...they might hide the profits too.
If I recall correctly, it was a money/compensation issue that caused Respawn's bosses to leave Infinity Ward/Activision in the 1st place.

I hope this isn't history repeating itself.

I wonder who 'owns' the Titanfall IP?

MS clinch this title, even if titan fall 2 release for PlayStation, it wont matter (just like mass effect).
And nothing stopping EA from making another "deal" and making titan fall 2 exclusive as well lololol.

Respawn is an EA "Partner" not a studio run by EA. They are however funding the franchise...but I dont think they own the IP

Title: Re: Titanfall

Killer Instinct.

Bought it for that and just that, Halo and Gears will be bonuses when they release.
XB1 is my KI, Skype, and Netflix box. Everything else is PC. And if KI was available on PC, I would not have bought an X1.

My pc is an all in one box as well, but Netflix and Skype app on x1 is better than the windows 8 app, so mite as well use them on x1, but if it wasn't for ki and I didn't buy x1 , id be content with Netflix and Skype on pc.

And u so do not understand how deeply my KI obsession runs... for example, don't know if anybody on GATT ever notice, but every single video I've ever uploaded to youtube / GATT... ended with a KI theme song......

My love for this one runs deep, I know 2 other people bought the x1 just for that game, and content to not play anything else on the console. Halo and Gears is just icening.

And with keyboard / mouse mod available for x1, I'm sure ill love those games. Loved the first halo and gears. We does still sweat gears on pc all now.

not really....because of aim assist the controller based players are able to keep up with me just fine.

If we were playing  a PC game without aim assist, things would be different!

Hear de thing though, more than 50 percent of the game go be against bots. So how ah multiplayer only game go make bots mandatory puzzlin me. De game must hah some dread mechanics for competitive players to overlook that.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: MessiaaH on January 10, 2014, 12:26:41 AM
DOTA and LOL are two of the biggest PC titles ever, mass rabid followers, huge tournaments, and down right addictive. Titan fall is that with mechs. Hope that sheds some light on your confusion.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniXaeno on January 10, 2014, 08:29:58 AM
Exactly.

I was skeptical at first when I heard that.....must admit....but then I remembered Dota, where 5 vs 5 humans battle amidst an ocean of AI controlled enemies.

It works.....it works brilliantly

So still stoked for TitanFall
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: ViCe on January 10, 2014, 08:55:05 AM
that works for mobas lol

hopefully there is a way to turn off bots and just have the 6v6 then
as a competitive player bots in a fps = LOL

*expectations for titanfall officially lowered*
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: MessiaaH on January 10, 2014, 10:29:09 AM
Is not exactly bots. They don't work, and don't function like bots.

In a traditional shooter with bots, they does act like another human player for the most part. In this game, The AI controlled players are more like NPCs. Some are cannon fodder yes, others have roles and objects. Others talk to u.

It's a completely different experience. They sort of inventing a new genre. MOBO/Action Adventure/FPS all rolled into one. They blurring the line between a single player and a multi player. When you play an SP games, and fighting the enemies, say Halo, Gears, Dead Space, SC2, you name it. When you playing the sp campaign, it don't feel like bots. It feels like a single player. So they just took that aspect, and blend it into the multiplayer.

And everybody who actually play it so far, say is gangbuster fun.

Don't just slap the "bots" moniker on the game. Is not bots.

And for a game that get best of E3, best of this, best of that, best of all kinda thing. And loved by the people who actually play it, my hype level still very much maxed. Not too long to wait again to see though. But it's still my #1 game of 2014 I want.

Titanfall Maps Can Hold Up to 48 Competitors Including AI and Titans :

Following this week’s moderate backlash over Titanfall’s matches being capped at six versus six, Respawn lead designer Justin Hendry has insisted the 12-player limit is what’s best for Titanfall, saying, “[t]he game is essentially built to be six on six.”

“It’s been this number for months,” Hendry told Polygon. “We are pretty avid players in the studio. People speak their minds and we listen and make changes. This is the number that felt best.”

The team experimented with up to 12 players per side and gradually lowered it down to as low as two per side until eventually deciding six on six was the sweet spot.

“It just comes back to what makes the game fun,” said Hendry. “If you’re making a game and you’re making decisions that’s not based on fun because you’re trying to please someone or trying to match numbers, you’re not doing the right thing.”

“Why not make Call of Duty 256 players, or Battlefield 256 or 512? Maybe that would be awesome. Maybe that would be awesome for that type of game built around that, but you can’t just jam players into a game and say this is what is ordained.”

The matches, however, won’t be just limited to 12 total human players; each team will be able to support up to 12 AI-controlled combatants and each human player will be able to have their personal Titan trailing them under AI control in ‘Follow’ or ‘Guard’ mode. At its peak, Titanfall can cater for up to 48 individual characters.

The AI-controlled soldiers will serve as both easier meat for less-experienced players who may find it difficult to compete against other human players and assist in providing a narrative to the game, which doesn’t feature a single-player component.

The team was not surprised by the reaction to the player count confirmation but is not currently reconsidering the six versus six cap.

“When people start playing Titanfall like Titanfall, the player count becomes a non-issue,” said Hendry.

See that. Half the game is againts bots. Dumb downed bots nonetheless, to make newbs feel good.

I could understand 6vs6 but to say 6vs 6  is the perfect mix then contradict yuh choice by puttin bots in. Dafuq?

And leh we be real, all ah we play cod before. We doh play for narration or story, cause it is shit.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: MessiaaH on January 10, 2014, 01:21:38 PM
Ain't read d comments yet nah, let me take a look.

@Shaq, I agree cod story is balls, lololol. But like I said, this is a different beast all together, is not bots, and is not cod sp story, is not MOBA, and is not your traditional fps.

Alyuh men don't like variety boy? We have ENOUGH! Cod type games dude. How much 64v64 games alyuh really want. Same ole rinse and repeat every year with updated graphics?

I welcome change, and new experience is.

Titan fall is its own thing, it ain't cod, it ain't battlefield.
Destiny is its own thing, it ain't borderlands
Division is its own thing.

And that's what I want for 2014, new interesting games. Come different, come Good.

Titan fall could have easily been another 64v64 shooter with no bots. Then what would you have? COD with Mechs.
That mite have been ok for most people. But I applaud the developers for trying something different.

You want cod? Go play black ops, u want battlefield? Go play b4. U want pure mech? Go play Hawken.
You want a weird mix up calaloo of MOBA/Action RPG/FPS/SP/BOTS/Wahever. Play titanfal.

Haters gonna hate. I can't wait!

Legend Of The Seeker - What Is Confession?
Confession is performed when a "Confesser", a person with specific magical powers, brings you totally under their control until the time of the "Confesser's" Death. This control brings with it Extreme Devotion and Love, and the need to protect one's Confesser at the expense of your own life.

lol, see some alpha gameplay yesterday, and ah must say everything i thought about this game was dead right.

Cod with mechs
Retarded bots to make everybody feel good
Crap graphics

All in all, slightly above average game that men go drop in a month for de most.Well worth de cost of a console

...from a closed alpha build that's probably a few MONTHS old at best,
which probably missing textures, gameplay, and A.I. elements, and most likely just being used to test network performance.

i know i played cod ghosts and a ton of pc games with controller however not all games feel right with controller on pc, plus the community sucks and could only find games in cod of domination and team deathmatch. xbox one already have 10 times as much people playing online and i could find a game in any mode. and am accustomed to an even larger community on last gen consoles

very very interesting info there

Could you find any website with the stats to back that up?

If I understand you correctly, you're saying the number of players for CoD on Xbox one already vastly surpass that of PC players.

I know that was the case with the last gen but I am really surprised that the new generation would already be achieving that sort of critical mass.

Don't know about website but I have been playing the pc version of cod since launch. It peaks at around 10 000 users but average about 6 000 people online.  Then I played ps4 version and x1 version which averages similarly at between 40 and 50 thousand.  However I have seen the number dip as low as 15 000 during slow hours like mornings. And thats just because its the new consoles am sure xbox 360 and ps3 beats these numbers

BF is most played on Playstation over any other platform. 3 to 1

And THAT is source info.

Some more info, COD is most played on XBOX, reverse ratio against PS.

Other random throw in data: Crysis sold only 2 percent on PC. 98 percent of sales were on console.

Any other data thats pulled from sites like vgchartz etc is incorrect. They don't have free access any more to NPD figures. That release costs you 15 grand.

http://www.polygon.com/2014/1/27/5349738/rumor-titanfall-beta-hits-valentines-day

Titanfall is rumored to enter into beta beginning Feb. 14 and running until Feb. 19, a retailer source close to the French publication Xboxygen stated, as spotted by NeoGaf.

The beta will allegedly be available exclusively from Zappos in France and Gamestop in the U.S. Posters advertizing the upcoming beta in France were also posted by the website, with the beta's start date clearly shown.

This follows the release of registration invitations earlier in the month to stress test the game on Xbox One as part of what developer Respawn Entertainment described as a "limited technical test" or alpha.

Titanfall will launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC on March 11, alongside a a limited-edition controller themed around upcoming mech shooter revealed in early January. The Titanfall Limited Edition Wireless Controller will be available for purchase alongside the game at launch for $64.99.

Polygon has reached out to EA for more details.

Messiaah, like is not just English you need help with, if the textures were reduced to 25% of their original fidelity....then the textures in the final version will be a 400% increase in quality over those. Effectively 4 times the size/quality.

Original texture 1024k in size

Alpha texture @ 25%: 1024k*25% = 256k

Final Texture @ 100%: 256k*400% = 1024k

lol

Either way, I cannot wait for this to drop. (pun intended)

There is a unique balance that needs to be struck when coming up with new IP in this setting. Some new IP can be completely different. But if you go too far on the left or right you could end up flopping.

Is like Mario and Zelda games. The new Zelda for 3Ds did enough different that it wowed everyone, but kept enough the same that it won't piss off people.

Ah lil bit of halo, ah lil cod, and throw in some mechs, with ah side of moba, and make it all work, fun, and epic? I say hell yea go for it.

But regardless of what they did, even if they throw profits, logic, past experience, what they built their career on, even if they threw all that out the window, and start from scratch with something completely new and totally different that not guaranteed success, even if they did that. I'm sure you'd still have something negative to say, because it ain't on PS4. :laughing7:

lol, Quake 3 arena SP was MP against a bot.

I agree that titanfall looks like CoD with Mechs and parkour...and I don't think that is a "bad" thing.

The base mechanics of CoD were absolutely excellent. The epitome of an FPS experience. It just got a little long in the tooth, that's all.

Adding some Parkour and Mech action is just the thing to spice it up. I don't mind having some cannon fodder AI to kill along the way either.

It works in Dota 2. It might very well work in TitanFall. They need to try different things to spice up the first person formula.

This looks like a step in the right direction....just need more lasers. lol

4 years lmao, I've owned every cod EVER from pc gaming come up. The gameplay,  the style,  is changed significantly over the years so if you come with the bs if I want cod guess what I'll play,  your credibility us ZERO. There is a notably different style between the different developers AND the community style changes sourcing on these. I for one don't mind a mash-up of cod and halo because ultimately it again will feel notably different.

Treyarch games feel more fluid while IW CoD have a messy feel to it.Most likely because x amount of releases later and IW spawns all over.

I read an article that said there would be no local titanfall servers in Australia @ launch.

Gamers over there were concerned about poor latency and by extension performance if they have to connect to servers located outside of the country to play.

It is a very valid issue.

One that Trinis are all too familiar with.

So it appears that TitanFall will not be following the traditional dedicated server route. That is, the established network of ISPs and server providers will not be used.

Instead, the back end will be powered by a Microsoft solution and details have been scant on where exactly those nodes are sitting.

If Australia is getting left out....chances will be extremely slim for a Caribbean node.

Now I really want to test the Alpha/Beta, to see what pings are going to look like to their cloud servers from our region.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: MessiaaH on January 31, 2014, 09:35:26 AM
The cloud solution they referring to is MS Azure , so research that to see what it's reach is. MS migrated Skype to Azure recently, and the entire Xbox Live Cloud network suppose to be on that. Any games utilized the Xbox live cloud (Titanfall for Xbox One and PC) will be accessing that network.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniXaeno on January 31, 2014, 03:40:14 PM
no need to research as we have a Microsoft Azure account!

Just checked the regions we can create servers and yes, Australia is missing...as well as the Caribbean.

Well you're not in Trinidad so we will need to do some further tests to confirm what sort of latency you get to Azure servers.

I just did a test to a US East server, got 96ms (typical)

Will send you the info to do a test yourself so we can compare.

Either way, it looks like we will be in the same old monkey pants for TitanFall.

That is, at a huge disadvantage against our US opponents who will be on sub 50ms pings. Their latency will be literally, twice as fast as ours.

Price of living in "paradise".

Will ask Microsoft what would be the odds of getting local servers.

Seeing as Australia is being left out, it doesn't look promising. lol

@ firekyler....games that allow local host and lan play offer "Caribbean" servers.

When a person is playing Call of Duty on his xbox he is effectively hosting the game locally for all other players.

When we run Team Fortress 2 servers, again, hosted locally.

It is only in very recent times that dedicated servers got controlled by corporations for big games like CoD and Battlefield on the PC.

We have been actively lobbying to have even those hosted in the region. A lot of progress has been made.

It plays alright but you are at a disadvantage...against foreign opponents with lower pings.

Even with solid netcode you still see "weird" things happen.

The most common is shooting an enemy...yet having him kill you instead.

From your perspective..you definitely shot first and he should be dead. Instead, his hits register and you're the one looking at the re-spawn screen.

It is very jarring for me coming out of a LAN multiplayer background. You will notice that in single player mode, this problem is non existent.

That is the reason we have made efforts to get local servers to fix the latency problems. Eliminate as much of the rubber banding, warping and "but I shot him first!" moments.

Don't get me wrong...for casual players...it will still be acceptable. Especially with decent netcode compensating for high latency. Trying its best to figure out who did what when and where and put it altogether in near realtime.

Titanfall having a lower player count is actually a good thing in that regard. Less players for the server to keep track of will definitely help. So don't throw away the xbox just yet. lol

Well Shaq, that is a double edged sword. Especially for us in the Caribbean.

On the one hand, a game using dedicated servers is usually a great thing.

On the other hand, when you can't have that dedicated server located in your country, it is a bad thing.

So in other words, if I'm playing Killer Instinct with another Trini and they offer me a peer to peer instead of dedicated....it would actually be faster. MUCH faster.

Games with a small number of players can get away with that easily. Fighters fit in this category.

I'm not making any excuses for that bot take-over fiasco. Same happened to me in Tetris of all things on PC. Not cool. AI playing against me as if it was a human. Good thing the other person was in the same room on a laptop, else we would have never known.

cod on all platforms suffer from lag every now and then, i think pc have the least, i feel its because it have less people playing idk
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniXaeno on February 01, 2014, 03:16:24 PM
lol, well that's true.

Every game will suffer with some sort of lag every now and then. As lag has many causes.

Very safe statement, I have to agree.

Still....as gamers it is in our interest to minimize lag using every tool at our disposal for the best multiplayer experience.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: firekyler on February 01, 2014, 05:51:18 PM
yep but  i feel most of the time lag is our fault eh, trinidad have poor internet and we far from the us. and i have blink unlike some of you that have the advantage of atleast having flow.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniGamerShaq on February 01, 2014, 08:49:27 PM
It's our fault for being born in a different region? Besides from the connection speeds i hear some americans say they have, my 15Mbps i'm greatful for. Of course it have the fiber optic 60Mbps men to jealous but still trinidad have it alright.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: firekyler on February 01, 2014, 08:57:39 PM
Yea you have flow right?  Blink is a different story. Its expensive for a simple 10mbs connection which is the limit for where I live. I guess in some parts of trinidad you guys have great options with Internet.  I have a 4mbs connection since the upload speed for this and the 10mbs is the same.  I didn't think it was worth paying the extra cash

Post by: TriniXaeno on February 02, 2014, 05:27:32 AM
You're both right, 10mbs is more than enough for gaming (and sharing with other family members) and it is on par with what many foreigners are using themselves. Flow's Turbo 20 and up even surpasses performances of internet connections I used while in the states and the UK. So we not badly off at all in that respect.

4mbs is good enough if you're the only person in your house on the net. If anyone else touches that connection while you're playing without any epic QOS enabled, you're going to lag hard.

And we should not have to suffer horrible latency because we are born in a different region. That wasn't the case years ago. Dedicated servers meant you could host games in your region and enjoy blistering fast ping times like everyone in the world.

That is still the case for some games (CounterStrike, Left4Dead, Team Fortress, etc...) but others have "commercialized" their dedicated servers and made them only available in certain regions (Battlefield, CoD on PC). Forcing us to lobby for a regional host (work in progress) and even then...we would still have to PAY to run the server.

As you can see from that graph, even a modest 1mbs upstream connection can host a 12 man counter strike server comfortably.

So lack of bandwidth isn't the problem for us in Trinidad at all.

dude alluh have to teach me that qos thing, what kinda router do i need. i know alluh is gurus
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniXaeno on February 03, 2014, 12:29:03 AM
I have been swearing by the asus line of routers recently.  The RT-N66U (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006QB1RPY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B006QB1RPY&linkCode=as2&tag=g12n7-20) to be specific

QoS works by throttling your uplink primarily and thereby preventing any one application from saturating your internet connection.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2rsUDIsx_w

For example, if I have a Flow Turbo 20 with a 2mbps uplink, my QoS would offer only a percentage of that to my network. Say 75%...for an effective uplink of 1.5mbps

You're probably thinking, who in their right mind would want to reduce their bandwidth....

Turns out, the end result is a "smoother" internet experience for everyone because no one application/service can monopolize your entire connection anymore.

Playing Dota 2 without QoS and no one sharing my internet is fine. My ping will be around 112ms

If someone starts streaming heavy videos from another PC on the network, it would shoot up to 800ms+ (without QoS). Absolutely unplayable. Particulary devastating are VOIP and Video apps like Skype and Facetime. They soak up your bandwidth like whoa.

With QoS enabled, the effect is considerably reduced. Your ping would still increase but to around 160 - 180ms...which is acceptable.

Better still, those routers would allow you to see exactly which device is chewing up your bandwidth in realtime so you could block them altogether, lol.

The fun doesn't end there, you can go further and customize the QoS rules to give your specific gaming PC full bandwidth/highest priority and leave the rest of the computers on your network to endure the reduction. Also, you could get more technical and prioritize the packets for your favourite game by their specific TCP/UDP ports.

Lots of options.

thanks will def look into that router and settings as whenever i game i always disconnect my router and have it directly connected. i would upgrade my internet connection but the blink max upload speed is the same between the 4mb and 10mb which is 768kbs. u think the 10 will make a difference?

yo blink is real robbery inno

Ouch. The 10 will help with download speed but not really with gaming.

Great for downloading the actual game as quickly as possible.

Thats the difference between waiting 4 hours to suck down a 20gb titanfall install over origin as opposed to 12 hours. Lol

...and apparently a heavily modified one at that.

Yeah, that one too will scale nicely on all types of hardware, and 'just work' so the devs can focus on other things.

It certainly won't look as good as CryEngine 3, but I can understand why they didn't choose that, or even Frostbite 3.
Using those may have placed limitations on the platforms that they could develop for.

Source engine is much older, more scalable, and more devs are familiar with it.

Frostbite 3 is a friggin nightmare to work with. No documentation ......atall. Plus EA wouldn't share it because its "secret tech" and Respawn is still independent, they like Bungie. They are gun for hires for the highest bidder. Titanfall is EA exclusive but the next one could be owned by SONY or whomever give them the money to make something.

Interesting @ source because it is tried and true (hl, Tf2, dota 2, etc...) though a bit dated.

Unlike B4, titanfall is running on the same epic servers that host the Xbox One launch, which handled the launch flawlessly despite haters saying it go experience the same issues as PSN on launch day. It didn't.

Microsoft Xbox Cloud server is stellar. Them Azure servers getting on bad.

Titanfall for both Xbox One and PC running on them servers. So from a networking standpoint it go be solid.
Only thing could bring it down now, is bugs and crashes. And I'm sure micronokia is presently testing the shit out of the game to prevent that.

Not at all, I cuss micro more than most. If the office don't get a "Microsoft gay eh" at least once for the week, something wrong lololol.

But when it comes to certain products, doing certain things. They just epic. In the enterprise space, Microsoft making all kinda mass, Server 2012 just epic. Like all companies, they have things they rel good at, things they suck at. Time they do good, times they do shit.

Based on what I saw of KI at E3, I didn't see that going wrong, and it didn't.
And based on what I know about their Xbox cloud infrastructure, and how titanfall looks thus far. I don't see that going wrong. At least from the backend standpoint. That don't mean d game won't have bugs. But if anything wrong with it, it won't be because of MS backend. Not like it running on the same servers that B4 running on :laughing7:

hahahha @ arc man standing on principles.

Hoss, is TitanFall.....show some skin if you have too.

I got not one....but two beta keys!! (thanks to signing up with a second "USA" account via VPN)

Good news is they are making it open to everyone, so you won't have to grovel after all to get in on the action.

TitanFall is like CoD + Prince of Persia + Mechs

Epic

This game gets a solid 10 booms out of 10 from me.

Best of all, not a single crash yet (though crixx says he had a few....so YMMV)

The Free running and Jet Pack action is just slick. The double jump is reminiscent of Unreal Tournament days. As is the dash with the Titans.

SOLD

PS....big up to crackers who was the first Trini I knew with a key and was also kind enough to lend me his Origin account to get an early play experience.

Respect

I think is the PS fanboys who actually "judging" it before it come out. lololol. I am fully prepared for an epic fail. But there is zero evidence of that being the case, so I excited and looking forward to it. But I not saying it definitely wont fail. The fanboys saying it definitely will.

But like arc said, no worries, march not that far :laughing7:

actually alot of ppl who have played it have also said its basically cod with mechs and bots...yes they are bots idk how u could try and spin it into something new or super advanced, they are bots, useless and honestly will not kill a real player at all they are they to distract titans and be farmed so u can get ur titan quicker. Alot of ppl have said its not a revolutionary new game that ppl hypin it up to be and from what ive seen it isnt, its fun but not OMG THIS IS GAME CHANGING.

The gunplay is cod like which everyone should of expected since its the cod4/mw2 devs they aint gonna just try and do something new but stick to what they good at and jetpacks have been in other shooters before

Abbe said the reason they went with 6v6 is because they tried everything up to 10v10 and 6v6 just felt right because u had to factor in the # of titans that everyone can call in which imo is a poor excuse
raise the player count and implement a cap on how many titans can be in play at once shit even cod u cant call in 4 choppers at once u have to wait.

And yes the game looks great fun its 1 of the reasons im buyin an xb1 but nothing ive seen so far shows me longevity, its like every other game without a purpose these days log on to rape sniperbob131324 and log off that sorta stuff gets old after a month or 2 of heavy play for alot of ppl but then again we have ppl that still heavily play cod day in day out and dont play nothing else so who knows lol

reason why most games goin open world or with some sort of "persistance" ala dust/planetside is because it gives u something to work towards everytime u log on, a reason to fight other than just pad stats/unlock some stuff
Title: Re: Titanfall

So far Im enjoying this. Is it revolutionary? doesn't feel like it, I mean im no FPS expert, but the basic gunplay is pretty much COD, so no difference there.

What feels fresh for me is some of the random shennigans that could occur in a match, like pulling out a pilot from an opossing titan and , running in the middle of 3 mechs, and self destructing,(killing them all in the process) ejecting to land on another mech and take it out rodeo style then jumping onto another friendly mech to make your escape. (yes that actually happened)

Does not have the scripted feel of the many other shooters, and the wall running, and jet packs open all sorts of possibilities for having some really unique experiences. wall running and the jet packs aint a gimmick it actually contributes to the gameplay, and opens up all sorts of creative ways to dispense with your opponents, (one skilled player on foot could take out a multitude of titans easily) not to mention the cloak really comes in handy with that auto targeting pistol.

not to mention this is just a beta, with one class of mech, im really curious to see what the full game has in store.

Been looking forward to a decent, futuristic shooter for ages, tired of cod and battlefield, so this is definitely my cup of tea. not revolutionary, nor game changing i suppose, but fun as heck. and feels unique enough for me.

Post by: MessiaaH on February 16, 2014, 11:11:17 AM
I don't think anyone ever purported that is some kinda big revolution or game charger. All the hype is based on the fact that as hardcore old school mech men they finally returning. Mechs not new, or revolutionary, they been around donkey years. And now they are back! And that's where alllll the hype for me is. And having played it myself, the hype was well worth it. My opinions of what happens in combat mirrors berserk.I've ripped dude out of titans, I've ridden titans and kill as pilot, I've nuked titans, I've used friend as transport, I've dropped titan on other titans, I've used titan as dome shield whiles making escape. Those titans..... wow.

Game full of win. All the haters could hate. Point of any game is to have crazy fun, and this game has gobs of it. Whether is bots, npcs, grunts, cannon fodder, whether is cod gunplay, whether what u want to say about the game, non of it matters, cause at the end of the day, I'm having crazy fun with it. (and I didn't have fun with b3 beta).

BOOM!

I have been begging and pleading for a futuristic FPS with Mechs. This delivers. FULL STOP.

Expected Battlefield or CoD to rise to the occasion and deliver the goods but nope...TitanFall beat them both to it.

This is going to be the go to game for FPS action in GATT for 2014.

It is rare to see so many admins and staff members agreeing on something for once. That alone is a sign of how Epic this game is...and that's just from the BETA. lol

THIS GAME IS WICKED SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The permutations of what can happen in a battle is AMAZIN!

It think it's time to start using shadow play, cause it had many moments I wish id capture.

I found myself surrounded by 2 enemy titans, and about 2-3 additional pilots. And all I had. Was meh titan, and ah TREE! I put my titan in auto pilot, jump out, use the tree for cover,  And the stars aligned and I some how manage to take them all out.

What an epic game. Haven't had this much fun in a shooter for a very long time.

THIS GAME... THIS GAME!!!....

Seriously...if you don't have an Xbone...do what you have to do to upgrade your PC to play this yes.  Respawn is onto something here.
It may not look as good as Battlefield, but that's far from a problem here.
I get the 'COD with mechs' impression.  There's definitely some influences, but god-DAMN it's fun.

At the end of the day...that's what we're after...that elusive 'fun-factor', and Titanfall delivers... by the TRUCKLOAD!!!

Title: $149 Nvidia GTX 750 Ti unveiled; plays Titanfall better than Xbox One
Post by: woodyear99 on February 19, 2014, 02:12:49 AM
You can get decent performance in Titanfall even on a budget.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/149-nvidia-gtx-750-ti-unveiled-plays-titanfall-better-than-xbox-one/1100-6417813/

Nvidia has just taken the wraps off the $149 (£115) GTX 750 Ti and $119 (£90) GTX 750 graphics cards based on its new Maxwell architecture. Both cards are available to purchase now.

The company is claiming Maxwell has twice the performance per watt of Kepler, and--in the case of the GTX 750 Ti--performance on par with a GTX 480, but with a power consumption of just 60 watts.

All models of the GTX 750 Ti and GTX 750 will feature two DVI outputs and HDMI, with some third-party manufacturers including Displayport too. Neither card requires a 6-pin power connector.

Core features of the GTX 750 Ti include 640 CUDA cores, a 1020 Mhz base clock, 2GB of 128-bit GDDR5 memory, 2048KB of L2 cache, and a 5.4Gbps memory speed. The GTX 750 features the same base clock, but only 512 CUDA cores, 1GB of 128-bit GDDR5 memory, and a 5.0 Gbps memory speed.

While the GTX 750 Ti is a midrange GPU, early benchmarks have shown excellent performance across a range of games. In GameSpot's own testing the card ran the likes of Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite at over 60fps on high settings. It also ran the beta of the new mech-based shooter Titanfall at 58fps at 1080p with 2XAA on, a feat not even accomplished by the Xbox One.

Nvidia also dropped in a little something for power users, announcing the new GTX Titan Black, the follow-up to the extremely powerful and extremely expensive GTX Titan. The GTX Titan Black features the same full implementation of the GK110 Kepler chip as the GTX 780 Ti, and pairing it with 6GB of 384-bit GDDR5 memory and double precision math.

No pricing has been announced for the GTX Titan Black, but expect it to be a lot. The GTX Titan launched at over $1000.

if its limited edition then the people who bought them will be reselling for some big bucks once the demand is there. offtopic what program do u use to monitor cpu temperature?
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: TriniXaeno on February 23, 2014, 09:12:26 AM
tbh, since I don't overclock, my cpu temperature is of no concern. Don't use any app to monitor that in realtime.

I do however use this to monitor my gpu temp, which shockingly has run afoul and caused issues in the past despite being at stock settings.

http://www.gputemp.com/

Had to add a second case fan to keep temperatures respectable.

I use coretemp for CPU and Precision X for GPU. These allow tray monitoring, and overlay in games or pushed to Logitech LCD etc. I also use a tool called PC Monitor to monitor temps and various things on system. PC Monitor allows you to take automatic action on conditions, like alert me when a fan stop spinning, or shutdown pc when temp cross a certain value, tell me when my public IP change, low storage space, an event in event log, etch etc etch. Their is a mobile app on all the platforms, windows 8 metro, wp8, ios, android. Can monitor up to 3 pcs for free.

Hmmm, never had that country issue, but then again my Microsoft account have US as the address, did that years ago to avoid shenanigans like that lol.

And yea Wyatt the product rely strong, u can even monitor CPU usage and take action, everything u can think of, remotely shutdown or power on pc from phone, everything....

Titanfall's PC version is gonna be titan-sized. Yesterday, Respawn's Vince Zampella said on Twitter that the PC version of the game will be an approximately 21GB download and will take up around 48GB of hard drive space. Best get housekeeping! Additional PC requirements here. [via PC Gamer]P

Update: As for Xbox One, Respawn has confirmed on Twitter that the Xbox One version will be 20GB. [h/t IGN]P

#titanfallthatisall

No kidding, believe the hype.

It is a rare moment in our gaming history that a game comes along and grabs center stage completely, demanding attention. We have seen it with Quake 3, the venerable Starcraft, the once ubiquitous Battlefield and the indomitable Dota.

In 2014, such a title is about to be unleashed on the masses yet again. TitanFall.

Didn't know if to reply on the review thread, or keep all the Banta here, so I just chose here:

Nice review. I'm one of the guys described as having serious tabanca. After titanfall beta I was physically and mentally incapable of playing anything else. All I could do is look for leaks and just wait! On the epiciness that is titanfall. I just didn't see the point of playing anything else. Over the weekend I just manage to bring myself to play some Killer Instinct (and those who know me knows how much I love that game), so to draw me from KI, Titanfall has to be something truly special. I cannot WAIT! On this game.  And when it's released, no other game seeing me for a while.

And that was just beta, leaks coming out of even more epic epic things.
Ah mean... this just leak today:

Titanfall Leak Outs Heavy Turrets, Ziplines, and More

Is zip lines you say? I wanted that back in battlefield for so long.

Epic

And thx @ the review. Was a labour of love.

I too couldn't touch a game since. That has never happened before in my life.

Put down Dota. That is the power of TitanFall

Hmm @ prestige. Never was a fan of that.

Respawn confirms "We won't stop or ban legit copies," but warns the online experience could be sub-optimal.
by Eddie Makuch on March 7, 2014

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a copy of Respawn Entertainment's highly anticipated multiplayer shooter Titanfall ahead of release next week, go ahead and play online as soon as you want. Respawn is not blocking or banning players with legitimate copies.

"About playing early: We won't stop or ban legit copies," Respawn cofounder Vince Zampella said on Twitter. "It is prelaunch, so there may be interruptions in service as we prep servers."

Titanfall officially launches March 11 for Xbox One and PC. An Xbox 360 version--developed externally at Bluepoint Games--will arrive on March 25. Respawn confirmed this week that the game's DLC season pass will include three expansion packs and sell for $25.

For more on Titanfall, be sure to check out GameSpot's interview with Zampella from our new show The Lobby below.

Title: Titanfall Pre-Loads Started – Some Users are Already Playing the Game Early
Post by: woodyear99 on March 09, 2014, 12:14:29 PM
This is just a FYI. Would not recommend doing this, be safe and wait :)

http://segmentnext.com/2014/03/08/titanfall-pre-load-begun-users-already-playing-game-early/

With one of the most anticipated shooters of 2014; Titanfall, close at hand, players who have pre-ordered the game are already pre-loading it in their computers. And just a heads-up, it’s 50GB in total.

However, such massive titles do not always see a launch without different leaks whether it is in the form of leaked trailer or various exploits to play the game early.

Several users over the Reddit have confirmed playing the game early by incorporating a file titled ‘TitanfallEarly.exe’ in the game’s directory.

This should not come as a surprise as we have already seen such leaks with franchises like Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield.

Although some players have reported playing the game early, others have complained about not getting any servers or getting stuck at the loading screen.

When the issue was brought to the attention of Respawn Entertainment, this is what the producer of the game, Drew McCoy had to say:

Just so everyone is clear:

Manage to score a copy of the game before 11TH? Cool! Try and play it – servers (or other players!) may or may not be available when you try. Be patient! 
Streaming is not yet allowed. Sorry!
Using modified ‘.exes’ and mucking about in files to circumvent security measures is generally a big no-no.
In related news, Founder of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella confirmed on Twitter yesterday that anyone receiving legit copy of the game before other players will not get banned but might face some issues:

About playing early; we won’t stop or ban legit copies, it is prelaunch. So there may be interruptions in service as we prep servers.

Nothing can be said with utmost certainty about the PC version but people have reported not getting banned. In case, you want to give it a go, here’s how:

Download ‘TitanfallEarly.exe’ from this link and paste it in your game’s directory and you’ll be good to go! Although we wouldn’t recommend doing it just to remain on the safe side.

Seriously though...once the game launches...this will be my greatest concern...

Quote
...Yet Titanfall is also a worrisome product that delivers only a fraction of what competing games – including Call of Duty – do, for the same price tag. That sets a worrying precedent where gamers are set to get less game for the same money. As the next generation of consoles takes root, this is both a commercial and an artistic concern.

Source: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/technology/gaming/review-everything-about-titanfall-is-gigantic-but-it-left-us-wanting-more/article17392517/

Also, I haven't seen any of the reviews mention 'skill-based matchmaking' or 'private matches'.
Two GLARING omissions in my view...especially that first one.  Lets face it...joining a match with the opposing
team full of higher-ranked players with more in-game time, XP, and unlocks having you for lunch over and over again
gets old really, REALLY quickly.  A game with such a low player-count SCREAMS for proper matchmaking.

With respect to private matches...this is not a new feature.  It boggles the mind that with such 'cloud power'
behind the game, that you can't set up a private match and invite who you want to play with AND against.
You're stuck with 6-man party playing against a random opp-for.  Egregious.

I hope Respawn addresses these concerns in a future update.

As good as it is...I still don't think it deserves a perfect score.  8.5, or 9/10 at the most.

Respawn said private matches coming in an update, so they dealing with that.

@Slamming, fly what fanboy flag? is not I drop titan on alyuh patner, rofl. Why MessiaaH always getting the blame? buh wah chubble is this lololol.

@EA Shenanigans. All EA doing is handling authentication. Everything else is handled by xbox live cloud. which has been tested and received a solid PASS during the beta. If EA some how manage to mess up this game, then they extremely retarded. I highly doubt it to be the case. you mean to say u cant just handling authentication? nah man, I being optimistic. Not long to wait to find out though. T minus 30 minutes

Skipping Titanfall Intro / Startup Movies

This one's really easy. We used this while benchmarking due to the sheer number of game restarts required (swapping video cards) and have found it to save some time. To remove the intro/startup movies for Titanfall, do the following:
•Open Origin.
•Right-click on Titanfall, click Game Properties.
•You're presented with an input window. Enter "-novid" (no quotes) in the window. Save it. Launch.
•Boom. They're gone.

You can also use this to run borderless windowed mode (-noborder).

Titanfall Multi-GPU Issues Workaround

Titanfall has just been released and it seems there are major issues with the PC version and multi-GPU systems. According to the company, the game does not support multiple GPUs and this issue will be fixed in an upcoming patch. Still, those with more than one GPU can go ahead and take a look at a temp workaround below:

1. Add bioshock infinite dx11 SLI bits to Titanfall or add Titanfall's executable file to bioshock infinite's profile (via Nvidia Inspector Tool).
2. Enable ambient occlusion and change it to 'performance' mode. Don't change any other AO settings, otherwise there will be graphical corruptions the moment you enable SLI)
3. Changed SLI settings to AFR2

Trying this as I reach home. I'm one of many who has experienced issues when using SLI . which is a norm for any new game really. Always have SLI / Crossfire issues at launch.

Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: Arcmanov on March 13, 2014, 02:10:59 PM
I only noticed some framerate drops when things get really hectic on screen, but I wasn't even aware that there were  multi-GPU issues.
It could be that the game was only utilizing one GPU, but I was having so much fun, I didn't notice.

Some enthusiast-level investigations are definitely in order.

Didn't Nvidia tout their latest driver as 'Titanfall-ready'?

Their latest drivers ain't no titanfall ready, They latest driver supports 3D in Titnafall, but their are no SLI profiles for titanfall in the drivers.

So yes it may be titanfall ready, but not SLI ready.

Also, issues observed when using sli are as follows:

1. Black screen when screen loads if you try to access burn card menu too soon (happened to me)
2. White screen with weird textures at mission start (happened to me)
3. When Insane textures enabled, randomly maps load with rainbow colored overlayed on all textures (happened to me and berserk)
4. Random Crashes
5. Crashes when jump in escape plane

Dual SLI seems a bit stable. But out of the 5 above, I've experience the first 3 on Triple SLI .

Also, if you have an SLI rig, your 2nd/3rd/4th cards are actually doing nothing. So whatever performance you seeing form the game, is actually only 1 card it using. (yes, the game is THAT efficient).

P.S. AMD users are experience the same and different issues with Crossfire.

Lol , I wouldn't put much thought behind that.

Issues didn't last long at all. The fact that MS was able to resolve them so quickly says a lot about their infrastructure and ability to provision more resources as needed. And is a new platform now getting hammered for the first time.
All in all I'm impressed. And i'm sure they are taking notes as to what to look out for and how to manage future blockbuster roll-outs.

Actually, the two complement each other nicely...

Titanfall has that 'pick up and play' accessibility that you might prefer if you only have an hour or so to muck around.
Battlefield 4's epic scale still cannot be beat, however, and when it works, is still a totally different type of awesome.
Titanfall may see even less of me when that monstrously epic Naval Strike DLC drops.  :happy0203:

Battlefield 4 has nothing to worry about.

Well... after going through the tedious process of freeing space on my SSD, I decided that i will install it to another drive (it's still downloading atm). Crackerz said he has no issues loading into games etc and he's not using an SSD so I think i'll try it out first and see if I'm comfortable with the load times. If not. The space is available on my SSD for the game and maybe one more BF4 DLC lol

Playing the game we accused various people of hacking. I could remember it had this one match. 1 Dude was in the flag spot, and he take out 5 guys rushing him, 5! , he some how never reloaded, and accurately kill 5 guys simultaneously. It took the team about 3 tries to get rid of this 1 Guy!

The truth has been revealed:

Titanfall Anti-Cheat Measures Coming Soon

Respawn has confirmed that while anti-cheat measures exist for Titanfall, they're yet to be switched on.

Software engineer Jon Shiring explained on Twitter that the developer has tools in place to prevent aiming hacks and the like, though the fact they're yet to be activated explains why in many cases they seem to be running rampant.

I agree with this assessment, having fun with the game so far...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2014/03/16/while-titanfall-lacks-content-it-isnt-overpriced/

While 'Titanfall' Lacks Content, It Isn't Overpriced

In the week since its release, Titanfall has sparked a lot of debate among fans and critics alike. Reception of the gameplay seems to be generally positive. The game has been praised as a “revolution” for shooter multiplayer while insults usually sound like “it’s just an upgraded Call of Duty,” which still can be taken as a compliment, given the success of that series.

Rather, the main criticism from fans and journalists alike is about the actual content of the game, and what it does, or more importantly does not, contain.

The last few years of shooters have gotten us into a mindset that a new game in the genre should have two or three fixed components. That would be a single player campaign, a multiplayer mode and more recently a third pillar of co-operative gameplay like Zombies, Firefight, Extinction, Spec Ops and so on. While series like Halo and Call of Duty satisfy these requirements, even as the latter is churning out a new installment year after year, Titanfall only has one of them, despite a lengthy development time.

Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: MessiaaH on March 18, 2014, 10:35:45 AM
I think is more to do with the fact that people in the states running 20 second ping. I definitely have lag issues. It takes me a lot more shots to kill people than it takes them to kill me. On my side i does be burying entire clips on people and they don't die. And when watching the Kill cam, from their perspective, not 1 bullet hit them.

But my ping is 150~, them own is 20....so they would definitely have the advantage.

It don't happen all the time, but it happens enough to irritate me. So I does have to fight different than I normally would to compensate.

Its nothing new to us from any other popular fps over the last 5 years. The Dreaded LAG is inescapable, however take solace in knowing that when you're good despite the lag, when u finally do get a sub 60ms connection men will be BAWLING and rage quiting from a side. Try not to get irritated, its just another challenge to overcome XD

Titanfall State of Service: Week One

Tuesday, March 18 | T-minus 23 days until final verdict
Current State of Service: Good
Summary: Launch day problems resolved. PC experiencing limited issues. Australia receives dedicated servers.

One week out, Titanfall seems to be running strong. Isolated reports of lag and hanging matchmaking screens are reaching us, but the Joystiq staff is reporting no significant issues on either PC or Xbox One. The biggest complaint so far seems to be uneven matchmaking, with low-level players regularly being matched with high-level and even Prestige level players.

Some PC users with Belkin routers are still having trouble connecting, but Belkin offered a workaround that's less expensive than "buy a new router."

If you encounter any problems with Titanfall, let us know in the comments or on Joystiq's Twitter or Facebook accounts (use the hashtag #sos and don't forget to specify your platform!).

That matchmaking is a serious thing.
I won't be playing regularly until that fix.

That's my only gripe with the game thus far.

Getting steamrolled by higher-level players seemingly with no life away from the game gets old fast.

Cool story:
My very 2nd match, everyone on my team was ranked 5 and lower, and the opposing team had players ranked 35 and above.
In the lobby chat, one player from the opp-for remarked: '...wow it's  "team life"  vs "team no life"'.

...and I had to laugh, because I knew it would happen.
Guess which team won...by a landslide.

Archie, better than that, we run into that same scheme on Xbox Live, and we handle business....if you low level, you use default classes which are good enough...what happens when you reach generation and have to start over, same difference...suck it up and fight through it like a TITAN!!!

Being low leveled didn't stop me from topping the team a few times when i played wit Wyatt, Mez, Messiaah etc.

To be quite honest. I see no great advantage in being higher leveled other than the fact that your have different options of weapons and perks. Once you're decent at the game, you need not worry about higher levels.
Title: Re: Titanfall
Post by: Arcmanov on March 18, 2014, 04:44:34 PM
Well in my experience, higher-level players tend to be the ones with more playtime, better map knowledge, better weapons/gear,
and better overall muscle-memory for that particular game.
It is, after all, a 'twitch' shooter.

...but that's why matchmaking is so important.
Not everyone has the time to get up to that level of skill.   I certainly don't.
(Yeah, I actually happen to have a life...shocking concept eh?  )

It's even more important in Titanfall because the player count is so small.
At least in other titles you may have a lot of teammates of varying skill levels to 'buff' your team somewhat.

I remember watching Angry Joe's beta gameplay stream and it was the same thing.
His lower-ranked team got consistently trampled by a higher-ranked, clearly more experienced team.

I'm pretty sure some proper matchmaking would have made for a less 'rapey' experience.  :laughing7:

I'm not asking for the game to hold my hand...just a little more consideration for those of us with less time.

Arc. It's best to not respond to two particular people on these forums these days. :)

I do agree with you though. I didn't intend on shooting any blows at your capabilities. We all who are important here know that you are a man with more responsibilities than many of us and can only play when you have a glimpse of time.

The need for a proper match making system is needed and I'm sure it'll come in a patch soon. What I found lacking in this game is the "tutorial" so to speak. The training is lacking in getting players used to the gameplay imo. And the campaign, where traditionally is supposed to assist you in learning the game, basically throws you to the dogs.

A lot of people were disappointed that the campaign gave them no room to learn the game. It was just dialogue slapped onto a MP arena. Coming from the makers of COD MW, I'm very disappointed in that respect.

you're definitely not on that list as far as I'm concerned FireKyler.

I think Virtue may have confused you with someone else! lol

Your opinions have been very measured and intelligent. Kudos for that.

As for Arc, I certainly have as much if not more responsibilities than you and definitely got a ton of "life" going on.

Yet, we wtfpwn the opposition in this game. Matchmaking has not been a problem as Virtue rightfully pointed out.

Case in point, we just beat a team that had a Prestige 5, 6 and 10. True story.

I think your problem maybe team mates, or lack thereof. Which platform are you playing on Arc??? If it is PC, I haven't seen you on teamspeak or in any of our team games.

My Response to the earlier bacchanal :laughing7: :

I too, like wyatt, have a "life" , but firefly did make one very compelling point. If you want to spend your time behind B4, you cant complain about higher level's in titanfall. Also. As he also pointed out. Higher levels in this game is not the same as COD and Battlefield. in those games, there were clear caps. In bad company 2, you are going to get owned until level 15, not because of map knowledge, or muscles memory. but because at level 15 you get more health and more damage.

In titanfall, the smart pistol and carbine (the first 2 weapons unlocked by default) are the 2 stinkest weapons in the game as far as im concerned. You get them when the game now start, and gen 5 level 49 men still rocking it. Leveling up in this game is not as rewarding as cod and battlefield.

As far as map knowledge and learning the game, you cant escape that. Time don't always equate to experience, and if you're a good fps player you can hold your own just fine. But if spending time in a game gets you better at it, it applies to all games, from Killer Instinct, to StarCraft, to Titanfall, cant escape that, so no need to complain.

As wyatt pointed out though, we beat-out many ah high level players already.

Also Wyatt's other brilliant point. Teamwork. Anytime we swetting, it have at least 1 other member there to communicate with and run some swet via teamspeak. So though at a ping disadvantage, our superior communication and coordination makes up for it (although the enemy use ingame chat and gets the same thing).

Watch them results I post above, level damage pass tonight. Especially when we running together and looking out for each other. Is a team based game, and with just 6 players on your team, teamwork is even more important than other games. If you jump in solo, not communicating with nobody, or playing with noobs, you are certainly going to get owned more than normal.

All that to say is........teamspeak.carigamers.com -> Titanfall channel. FALL EEN!
We will pull up the slack.

Titanfall NVIDIA GameWorks boosts bring 4K support, TXAA, HBAO+, SLI

Quote
This week at GDC 2014, NVIDIA announced that they were working with Respawn Entertainment to bring on a number of GameWorks-centric enhancements to Titanfall in the immediate future. While many top-tier games work with NVIDIA before the release of their titles, it would appear that this move is happening after-the-fact. Better late than never - this release will have upgrades that bring what NVIDIA promises will be "the best game experience possible" in all arenas.

This update to Titanfall will come some time in the near future - at the moment we’re not entirely solid on when. It’ll bring on TXAA (Temporal anti-aliasing) reducing crawling and flickering in-game. NVIDIA’s technique includes post-processing, high-quality multi-sample anti-aliasing, and NVIDIA-designed filtering to bring about a highest-end experience visually.

Also included in this update will be the addition of HBAO+. That’s otherwise known as Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion+, and it’ll bring far more "lifelike" shadows to the entirety of Titanfall. This push will increase the realism already present in ambient occlusion technology in the game - that means "richer, more detailed, more realistic shadows" around all objects in the game.

A number of updates will be coming this year from Respawn Entertainment in collaboration with NVIDIA, bringing about SLI multi-GPU support for NVIDIA GeForce GPUs as well as full support for 4K displays. Now we’ll enter the age when Titanfall doesn’t just look fun - it’ll look visually spectacular as well.

I'm not interested in having a high generation in this game tbh.

I wanted to level up to unlock the weapons... they're now unlocked. I have no interest in generation stat.

In KI I'm interested in that stuff though. I want my high level in KI. Also in KI you are primarily matches to players around your rank. Since titanfall have no skill based match making, that generation rank is just ah number.

I good for the moment. :laughing7:

The only advantage is that with each Gen rank up there is a XP boost. ie. with 2ng Gen you get an instant 1.1xp for every match played. 3rd Gen you get 1.2xp. etc

Servers were down last night on Xbo, otherwise on PC you may be narrowing it too much as the demograph on GATT is maybe 20-40, which doesn't account for younger players we don't have on our lists.

I would love to see a TitanFall tourney. Any update on when that feature would be released?

I think we need the roster to double to get 8 teams on both platforms.

Now that the game is out and proven to be epic....we need to cast the net wide and far. Starting with a Microsoft exhibition tomorrow @ NAPA

First Titanfall Xbox 360 review scores published

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/458340/first-titanfall-xbox-360-review-scores-published/

While the outsourced Xbox 360 edition was originally due to launch alongside the Respawn-developed Xbox One and PC versions on March 11, the shooter's release date was delayed twice, most recently to April 8 in North America and April 11 in Europe.

Bluepoint's Daryl Allison, senior producer on the game, said last week that Titanfall on Xbox 360 "is the true experience", and going on early reviews critics tend to agree.

Our colleagues at OXM scored the game 9/10, the same as the Xbox One version, saying: "Bluepoint kicks anxiety to the curb with a smart, efficient port, that's fundamentally the same as Titanfall on Xbox One. If you can't afford a new console, save your pocket money for this."

Game Informer's 9/10 review says: "The 360 version of Titanfall holds up well as an overall experience, even though it is undoubtedly the worst way to experience the game, reflected in a quarter-point drop in score compared to the Xbox One and PC versions... Players who have not yet made the jump to a high-end PC or new-gen console have a competent way to play one of this year's most exciting games, and that's a chance that shouldn't be missed by quibbling over visual hang-ups."

Xbox Achievements awards the game 88/100. "There's a lot to be said for the inherently fun, shooty mech action that Titanfall has to offer, and considering this was touted as a next-gen experience, you can get the effectively same on your 360 for all intents and purposes. Kudos, Bluepoint."

Just for the sake of variety... I'm down for that.
They could do it in an episodic format...with the first few episodes free, and the rest for a small-morney.
That I wouldn't have a problem with.

At the time it was probably around $2000 USD give or take. The normal cost of an iMac. They are expensive and yes you can build a system for cheaper with the same parts if not better but it's a matter of personal preference, convenience and what you're going to use it for.

Having a 27" display that sits at 2560x1440 is very nice for doing photoshop, architecture work, 3D modeling etc.

The point is, I was very impressed that using Bootcamp works so well. He has no issues with any games. DOTA 2, Diablo 3, BF4, Sim City, SC2 etc.

Lolz waste of money for subpar specs

Subpar specs you say? I suggest you do some research before you make such comments.

I am in no way an apple fan boy. I own nothing apple with the exception of a random ipod cable that was left in my house 2 years ago. They make EXCELLENT products with the same components used in every other good-great quality laptops/ultrabooks/gaming laptops.

true, no accounting for taste

Some people love the apple brand

I was a huge fan of the ipod (now replaced by my nexus and a bluetooth headset) so not gonna hate on their fanbase.

The misses rockin' an iphone so it is more a matter of self preservation really, lol

Agreed that you can do considerably better gaming wise for US$2000 but still it is welcome news that macs are no longer retarded in the gaming department thanks to boot camp and running windows 8.1, etc... at native speed

Good for gamers, good for us

That's an automatic 'enhancement' that YouTube applies, because it 'thinks' that the video is from a shaky camera.

You have to go back into the settings and 'revert to original' to remove that.
