Title: Need help creating a vid!!!

I'm very much interested in making a combo video for a certain game.  Touya has obliged to help me but I'm afraid that when he gets around to it, I wouldn't be able to do it.  I currently have free time on my hands and I want to get this done as quickly as possible.

What I want to do is:
1.  Record gameply onto PC format from a VHS tape if it's possible.  Basically to get what I want to present in MPG format or whatever is convenient.

2.  Layer Music over the vid.

3.  Insert text in between for explanation of what the hell went on.

Touya and Kayo are the best men to speak to for that.
I know touya in particular is an expert in making AMV's with gamin footage from a wide variety of consoles.

A TV Card would suite your purpose nicely , i recall seeing one selling for about 250tt the other day, with a tv card u can plug the console directly into the card and record away. I gots one and its great for when i dont feel like going outside on the tv to use my dc.

yup tv card will allow you to capture video from your tv , video or anything with a composite input really

All that will be covered.  :lol:   You will be able to get gameplay ideas, tactics and strategies and especially insane combos to practice that will show you how i got nick names like 'numb thumbs', psycho, freak, God, Lucifer and all the rest.  The latest I have been described as in EX3 was acheving the 'unpossible'.  :lol:  Lixx in FIA mc!!!

Here's how I do it....

1) Hook up console to VCR (in)
2) Hook up Digital Video Camera to VCR (out)
3) Record while game is playing/ingame movie is playing
4) Dump the recorded video to PC using firewire from the Video Camera (this way you can eliminate hours of needless footage)
5) Arrange and edit in Ulead Media Studio over audio track.

Well I'm being honest, it's pretty bare bones...but the fun I have using it is to fake more high level effects using it....much more of an art to it that way I find.

Tv capture cards record the sound as well.
So you can capture from the console direct to the system, skipping the whole cam record phase. just get a noice tv cap card..
Ati All in wonders do wonderfully - no pun intended.
Ulead media studio is pretty easy to learn, but hard to master..as Touya said, you sometimes have to fake high level effects. I shudder to think of what would happen we he does finally adopt priemere or similar.

I have to admit that is impressive but my only achievement of the  sort is a full life drainer with critical parade and a half life drainer usin one superboth with Ken and Zangeif. Who is your choice characters mine are Ryu Zangief Dhalsim Ken and Garuda also have you ever defeated shin bison on a perfect ?

Are you a member of Gamefaqs?  There was a debate on that whole perfecting Shin Bison.  And Yes, I have done it.  The game AI isn't all that.  Sry, that was a 100 hit combo not 2.  It was a typo.  Usually, the combo averages from 100 to 130 hits.

When I make the vid, I'll be distributing it like crazy if time permits.  Should have some good stuff in there.  Basics and a bit of the advanced.  I can pick almost any two characters and come up with a lights out combo in a matter of minutes.  Nice stuff to do when boredom strikes.

RB gave me a great idea though.  I wonder if any other fighting game players had some nice combos to show off.  We could come together and make a GATT combo disc.  All combos would require would be either, high damage, high style factor, or high hit counts.  That would rule.  Anyone interested.

That's what I meant.  Sorry for not clarifying.  RB, I've seen some of your KOF stuff and its good.  I'm saying that

1  Pick your game
2  Record your combo or skill exhibition
3  Burn a compilation of all these vids onto one disc to distribute among gatt/friends or whomever.

I'll handle EX3.  Anybody interested in having their combo skills "published or demonstrated" so to speak, can post here to see what we can arrange for the actual recording.

um, Shin Sagat, if you think you have something that no one else has seen before in a fighting game, like a glitch or combo or some sort of skill, then feel free to share.  I'm trying to stray from doing stuff that is common in gameplay.  Some kinda insane sh!t.  Anyways, we'll see what you have thus far.  

I have to get a capture card first and then I'll be able to tell you when and where.

Now to get rid of this crappy PC and begin massive AMV making. Have the list on my door waiting for creation. Sourcing the original stuff will be a bit of a trial though...
