Price with hard case: $1700

Price with Fender Gig bag: $1300

here are some pics(taken with my Panasonic Lumix Camera; which is For Sale btw) :happy0203:

Software, Security, Programming and Internet / WLM 2009 and webcam issues
« on: January 23, 2009, 10:03:11 PM »
I recently installed the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, it seems like a great update, but ...I've come across this failure to connect on webchat with 2 PC's, one Vista machine, and an XP machine. I can't even start the Audio & Video setup. and when I try to start a chat, there is a prompt saying that my webcam may be in use by another application.

Anyone having similar issues?

Trading Grounds / FS: Line 6 KB37 & Line 6 Gig Bag
« on: January 13, 2009, 03:04:48 PM »
For you guys into the PC recording;

I bought it 9 months ago and used it a few times with Reason 4/Ableton Live.
It's in excellent condition, I never got around to using it very much after upgrading my PC and find compatibility issues, so I've decided to sell it.

I bought it for $300US & had it shipped fromAmazon to me, so I'm willing to
sell it for $1800. I still have the packaging & box, and
it will come with the USB cable, all documentation & install CD.

I also imported the Gig bag for it which costed me $50US before shipping,
and would be willing to throw that in for an additional $200.

So for the KB37 & Gig Bag = $2000

Help guys!! last saturday I got fed up with my flakey AMD system (i know Crixx gonna laugh :P) so i finally bit the bullet and splurged on an Intel P35 based Gigabyte MoBo GA-EP35-DS3L and a Q6600 Processor! my AMD board & processor were sold by sunday!

As I mentioned in the WTMC thread, i immediately noticed an issue when i tried to use my Line6 KB37 Keyboard/control surface as the default sound device (which i had quite successfully done with the AMD system mind you!). i spent the whole of yesterday troubleshooting and looking for a work around. what i did realize after much research on the Line6 website (see Link), was that apparently there is an 'issue' with Intel chipsets; ICH9 in my case, and USB signaling causing drop-outs in communication and rendering as white noise. I have no clue where to head to next with this issue.

The OTHER issue i've recently discovered which i refuse to swallow is that I can't install any games! When i try to use Daemon tools to install from an image of the game, within 3~5 mins of the installation, the PC freezes, and the only option is to hit the reset button! :crybaby2:

my upgrade has left me with MORE faults than when i was with the 'flakey' AMD pc!

lend me your intelligent minds on this one guys.

Media / Fringe on Fox Tuesday nights
« on: September 24, 2008, 06:35:32 PM »
what you guys think of this show?

Quote
The series deals with a research scientist named Walter Bishop (described as "Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein" and portrayed by John Noble), his son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), and an FBI agent, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) who brings them back together. The show is described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel .

^^the comparison above had me very interested, and that was even before i saw any of the shows. This Show WIN!!

I used Eztv.it to D/L the shows since Flow doesn't have Fox.

Here's the Wiki on the TV Show.

Laptops / Introducing: The Asus Eee PC 1000H
« on: September 16, 2008, 03:39:59 PM »
yip, i finally got my 1000H. Here are some pics :happy0203:

A few quick words;
The screen is BRIGHT! It's fast! bigger than the 701, but it works out for the better. I've timed the battery life to be about 4.5hours with my screen set about 30%, Bluetooth off, and the Hybrid engine set to the default 'Auto' performance mode.

More details:
I also ordered a Kingston 2GB RAM upgrade, and after verifying that it works out -of-box, i shut down and replaced the RAM. i also took a gander at the HDD, and began to think about upgrading the a 320GB in the very near future!

It isn't slow to boot into XP either, I timed it at around 20 seconds to show the desktop from pressing the power button.

It has a few dedicated buttons along the top left side just above the keyboard, and they are for; 'screen off' (nice feature if you gonna walk away from the PC and don't want your mum to see the Pron), 'screen resolution adjust', 'Super Hybrid Engine' (switch between the different performance modes), and a dedicated button for web conferencing using Skype.

The webcam is nice at 1.3MP, but suffers from noise in low light conditions.

the Audio is SUPERB to say the least! Dolby Sound Room it's called, and when i connect my Shure noise-canceling ear-buds, the movies & music come alive!

The keyboard is much better in size than the 701 i had earlier this year, but i believe that this comes at the expense of the overall size increase of this version Eee. to sum it up quickly i would say that it IS bigger than i would like, but still small enough to be considered Ultra mobile. I have a size comparison of it next to the 701(check the keyboard keys!)

Storage / Intel to make 160GB solid state disks
« on: April 04, 2008, 02:15:58 PM »
Something Interesting I came across...

Quote
Intel has been mucking around with NAND flash memory for a while now, but it’s just shaken the storage industry at the Intel Developer Forum in Shanghai (IDF) by announcing that it’s planning to make its own solid state disks (SSDs).

The move has nonplussed even some of Intel UK's own people, who claimed that they'd seen and heard nothing about it until the announcement during Intel's Dadi Perlmutter's mobile-computing keynote speech. It represents a foray into a completely new market for the company and will worry current mobile hard-disk manufacturers.

Not only is Intel's entry into SSDs a surprising and potentially industry-shaking move, but the little information that's been announced gives even more cause for competitors to be concerned. The single slide devoted to the topic during Perlmutter's keynote claimed that Intel could make SSDs with capacities ranging from 32GB up to an amazing 160GB. This is even larger than the 128GB SSDs announced by Samsung in January.

Mobile Phones & Gadgets / URGENT help needed with Sony Ericsson phone!
« on: November 16, 2007, 01:58:48 PM »
arrite... here's my situation. a month ago i bought a K550i, and about a week after i got it, the buttons, particularly the 4. 6. 0. and most importantly the * (star) wouldn't work, now with the * not working, this would render the phone useless if it were locked :shakehead: i returned the phone, and was given another one as a replacement. the buttons were great on the new one. BUT... a new problem was immediately apparent, the last phone gave me the 300 hours in standby, the replacement wouldn't give me 48 hours of battery life, now having recently converted from from being a satisfied Nokia user, this was unacceptible battery life. the store only has 2 of the phones, and i've shown that both are lemons, lol. to cut a long story short, i'm gonna have to get another phone from the guy, what do you guys think of the W610i? i'm gonna try to barter the guy to meet me half way with the difference in cost, and my suffering, hehehe

my main reason for buying the Sony was because it's an excellent phone nowerdays since Sony bought over the show at least, and i was in the market for a small digital camera, why not just get the K550i i thought, as its a Cyber-shot branded phone. the nearest option i see is the W610i.

any sugestions guys? this deal gonna be goin down this afternoon :cowboy:

so, i'll appreciate any insights anyone has with the phone, experience; good or bad. thanks

Wacky World of Weird News! / Misfired Patriot missile hits farm in Qatar
« on: October 16, 2007, 06:58:25 PM »
WTF?! ...like the article says, "how a missle can fire jus so?

Quote
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. forces in Qatar accidentally fired a Patriot missile at a farm in the Gulf Arab state but caused no injuries, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

The U.S. military is investigating the missile launch, first reported by Al Jazeera television. The Patriot is an anti-missile system.

"Those things are not supposed to accidentally discharge," said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman. "It was not supposed to happen."

Whitman said the missile was fired into an unpopulated farm area. The missile was fired during a training exercise, said Lt. Gen. Carter Ham, director of operations for the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Al Jazeera said the missile was fired from the Assayliyah base.

U.S.-allied Qatar was a launch pad for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
