Health, Sport and Fitness / Dangers of Soy. Really A Must-Read.
« on: October 15, 2010, 04:16:04 PM »
Soy's everywhere and it's been called a health food for years. I was shocked to learn some of these facts about soy... kinda lifestyle-changing.

Quote
Years ago, tropical oils, such as palm and coconut oil, were commonly used in American food production. However, these are obviously not grown in the US. With the exception of Hawaii, our climate isn't tropical enough.

Spurred on by financial incentives, the industry devised a plan to shift the market from tropical oils to something more "home grown." As a result, a movement was created to demonize and vilify tropical oils in order to replace them with domestically grown oils such as corn and, primarily, soy.

For the most part, they've been very successful in their campaign to paint soy in a healthy light. So, the information I have to share with you may disappoint and challenge many of you, especially vegetarians, because vegetarians and vegans use soy as one of their primary sources of protein.

But I'm here to tell you that after studying this issue very carefully, I'm convinced that unless the soy you're consuming is  fermented, you're putting your health at risk.

Sony PlayStation / Local PS3 YLOD/Blinking Red Light Victims
« on: August 26, 2010, 01:48:14 PM »
Now I don't know if anything like this has been done before, or if this is frowned upon (if so, my apologies) but I thought it'd be interesting to see how many PlayStation 3 owners locally (or at least for now on GATT) have suffered from the "Yellow Light Of Death" or the "Blinking Red Light" malfunction and their current status.

*ahem*

Sony PlayStation / PS Jailbreak... Softmodded PS3s. FUH REAL??
« on: August 23, 2010, 04:15:40 PM »
I was just bouncing around Playstation 3 related searches and I came upon this thing called PS jailbreak. Now I know there have been a lot of claims and a lot of 'almost had it' (George Hotz) but I was wondering what everyone else thought. You think it's for real?

This is one of the sites I've found. And I'm sure there are gonna be a lot of knock offs in the not too distant future (sites and products).

Sony PlayStation / Sony Cutting "OtherOS" Feature On PS3?!?!?!?!
« on: March 29, 2010, 05:12:50 PM »
Now although I never installed another operating system on my PS3, I had high hopes of using Linux in the future to... well... you know... 'tweak' the functionality a bit. 3.21 eliminates the "OtherOS" feature apparently to secure the PS3 (understandably so since George Hotz made something of a breakthrough in hacking it.) I'm somewhat disappointed, but ok... if they say so.

Now I don't have a PSP so you might call me chuppid for asking this. But I'm just curious: does PSP wireless internet connectivity work here in Trinidad by any means? And will Wimax (4G internet announced by TSTT for fall-back coverage for CHOGM) affect this positively? What does this mean for other devices like the Amazon Kindle? Thanks.

Sony PlayStation / Playstation Network Problem
« on: July 23, 2008, 12:42:54 PM »
Hi,

To all Trinidadian PlayStation3 owners:

Does anyone have problems connecting to the PlayStation Store and the PlayStation Network from the PS3?

Can anyone else connect to them at all? If so, how?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give.
