Still unsure if ah gettin this one because sledgehammer  play  ah hand in mw3 and that was real utter ass. But yh it cool to hate on the popular stuff. Funny thing is most people that hate on CoD enjoyed it at some point. Yet they can't grasp that the exact way they used to like it there are those just getting in to it and those who never stopped liking it.

This is some nonsense right here. It might be cool to hate on the popular stuff for the hipsters and the anti-mainstream crowd, but I think those that do not buy into the mindless franchise rehash can assure you that yes - the first modern warfare was the height of the series; it's really *not* a broad generalization to say that everything that followed was all cash-grab and little to no innovation.

I doubt its that "they can't grasp" that the persons who enjoy the new iterations enjoy them because these new games are better/different than the previous titles; can you really say that there's more being added than just a fresh coat of "shiny-new-more-filler" every year? I tried to like MW3, and I had a little fun with it. Then I played BF3 - apples to oranges, yes, but the disappointment is still relevant.

Far be it from me to tell anyone what to like and why - just call a duck, a duck. It IS a cash-grab rehash. It does look ok. I will torrent and take the campaign for a spin. After the catastrophe that was and is BF4, triple-A titles will not go thoroughly unscrutinized.

Mass consumption is not cool; being popular is not cool - it is a standard or a common denominator for a large user base. Just to wrap up I'm not attacking you, but addressing your points that I do not agree with. Enjoy what you enjoy, but don't make assumptions or suppositions as to why I or anyone else should not take issue with your preferred medium.

You guys must realize that it takes more than a custom APU to play at 1080p @ 60 FPS.

Think about it like this. If it costs a PC gamer $250-$400 USD to purchase a discrete GPU that can ONLY run a game on full settings at 1080p when coupled with a system that costs $500+ USD (MB, RAM, CPU, PSU), how can a $400 or $500 USD piece of equipment come close to matching that level of performance.

Sacrifices need to be made somewhere to deliver the best possible performance per game. To be quite fair, developers managed to make games look beautiful on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Luckily some of those games didn't have a PC counter part to compare to though. =p

And sadly many of the ones that do are ports. Still though, credit where it's due.

Also, what exactly is happening in that .gif btw? Rainbow Rave powers?

Watch those sales...never know what you might find. I am currently trying to palm off my HD518 onto my bose-happy pops, so I can find an excuse/funding to splurge on the much lauded ATH-M50.

PS4 just has nothing good to play on it besides BF4...duuuuh

and whats your point showing graphics comparisons beating a dead horse Trinigamershaqtingafool? Xbox One does 720p due to developers having a more difficult time coding for the Box since they got the kits later than PS4...PS3 suffered the same fate last gen, this has been discussed before, so try again....LOL

I can't disagree with this more. To reference more about Kojima and Konami, back when MGS2 debuted on the PS2, it blew people away with just how amazing it looked - on the hardware that developers were complaining and griping about being "too difficult" to work with.

Something that happened *again* the next generation when the PS3 and its cell processor technology was a source of discontent among new devs. Cue Kojima and co., MGS4 (not to be contentious here, but I'll also throw in the crazy install/load times for MGS4 which he stated that due to the sheer size of the game, it would not be possible on X360 with less that 2-3 discs)

The personal input I have on this matter is, Kojima knows what he's doing - with his team and his work, he clearly relies on the tried and tested experience they have; evidence of that can be seen in his handing off of MGSR to Platinum games as opposed to continuing it in its original incarnation.

Why is the fact that devs have difficulty coding for a console an excuse? If the hardware is capable, It should show if the devs are similarly capable and/or dedicated.

Very nice. the snobbery part of it is pretty moot at this point imo. I myself won't shell out for an expensive set of cans, but as a sale hawk I will grab something that I consider to be a fair buy - case in point, I picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD518's for CAD$80, its regular price being $160. Very nice buy for me, despite the fact that I was looking to pick up an ATH-M50. I played the entirety of MGSR on it and was not disappointed.

I think maybe an addition to this thread might be headphone amps - along with the HD518 I also bought a Fiio E6 (tiny portable thing but I am liking it thus far).

I'm also looking into investing in a DAC possibly; as an ITX motherboard user I am left without a plethora of options in the audio department, so it's either going to be one of these or a motherboard upgrade, which in the end may be a cheaper and more importantly effective solution - ASUS ROG motherboards are reputed to have decent if not above average sound, and if that is not up to the task on the ITX front, there are many other options left.

I find that DAC's do not leave much for the budget oriented users, but to be fair if you are not as concerned with audio quality as with other aspects of your media then to each his own. As an inexperienced audio snob I find after using the HD518 that I can just as easily go back to using my Logitech G430 without too much fuss, though I do appreciate the differences in their reproduction. I would love to hear more on the subject of soundcards and even opinions on laptop audio for those who can share.

Recommendations on external sound solutions would also be very much appreciated

In that case, do check out the reviews on amazon for the ones they have up on there. Quite a few reports of it being an issue wrt USB playback off of a flash drive.

It does, obscurely on amazon and ebay but reviews have not been kind - I'm not sure what the idea behind it is but it doesn't seem to be a viable solution for many
