The loudmouthed anti-EVERYTHING geeks in the Talkback forums of AICN and those other films number in the hundreds. And they always hate everything, every announcement, every released picture, every reviewed script...everything. They exist to bitch and whine and speculate negatively. Their words are worth less than nothing. And it's so few of them.  

Again, I'm not defending a movie I haven't seen yet. But Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat were both hits, and are both widely regarded as the best videogame movies ever. They had weak scripts and plots...they were videogame movies. Event Horizon had a great plot and script, and it's a classic mix of horror and sci-fi. The man directs as well as the material he has to use. Yuh think Ridley Scott could hae made Mortal Kombat any better than it was? Steups.

I don't know anything about the man being a bad director. He's made fun little films out of licenses no one else would touch. If he's given a good script, I'm sure he could do the franchises justice.

Stop being one of the mindless naysayers who whine for whining sake...because it makes one look discerning and elite. :-?

If you think that mortal kombat and resident evil were good dan yuh
have VERY bad taste.
The people at talkback don't hate everything either. And my point was
that it's the WEBMASTERS that were complaining.
If a film's a hit does that make it good? Wasn't pearl harbour a hit and
it was a terrible film. Isn't the phantom menace a bigger hit but the
film is terrible too?
Yes ridley scott could easily make a good film outta mortal kombat.
Your obviously a fanboy for this anderson guy hench the way you
try to pitfully insult me but the very fact that you actually LIKE these
films he made makes you the foolish one.

And lets forget the other people for the moment. I personally didn't
like his films. I loathed RE and MK. Soldier was so so and EH was a
missed oppourtunity. Now this talentless guy is gonna make a film
that I've been waiting for in ages?
From his previous record I ain't holding out on it being good.
Could he surprise me? I hope he can but I seriously doubt it. You may
have enjoyed his films but you are one of the few that do.

If the director ruins this movie rest assured the Predators themselves will come down and hunt is @ss down for sport for soiling their reputation.

There is one little problem. If you liked Mortal kombat and resident evil you will love this film. But if you didn't like these films like me this is the worse possibly choice. The guy that's making this is the WORSE sci fi director ya cah get and he's been given one of the holy grails.....

I don't know about him being the worst sci-fi director. Why do people make these kinda statements?

He also made Event Horizon. I don't think that qualifies as bad sci-fi.

As for "passing up" James Cameron and Ridley Scott...lol, you feel Scott and Cameron does be home waiting to make movies for whoever ask them?

And you can't say that you won't like it if you didn't like Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil. It's a different movie, different scriptwriter, screenplay, and the guy has almost ten years more experience.

I thought Minority Report was boring and unentertaining. That doesn't mean I think the same of all Spielberg's films.

Half the sci-fi film fans are up in arms? LOL. Right...on which message forum. Steups. A few dozen geeks start to snort and that means "half the sci fi film fans" are disgruntled? Sigh.

Alyuh try to be a little more objective when casting off fanboy speculations nah...Jah.

Well for one thing cameron and ridley scott WERE intrested in doing another alien film together but fox passed on the project in favor for this one. No matter how different a film is to another film if it's being directed by a bad director the film will come out bad no matter what genre it's in.
A lot of fans of the alien and predator as well as your general sci fi fan ar e against this film once they knew who was behind it. All of the major movie news sites like aintitcool,fangoria,chud and countless others are against this director because he plainly sucks as a film director. Most of the people I've met at the sci fi conventions in the summer seem to have the same opinion as mine. If four out of four films that he made were bad why should i expect and anyone else for that matter for paulanderson to make a decent film this time round? Check out the situation before ya start judging me eh? Because it's obvious you have no idea what's going on with this guy and the fans.

do you think that they will make any references to any of the alien movies?

It's set before the events in alien and guess what? All the action takes place on earth.

The guy who's directing this movie is the same guy who directed the Mortal Kombat films and Resident Evil.  
The film isn't based on or adhering to the continuity set by any of the comics. It's a whole new story.  
Take that as you want.  

Whoops I didn't notice this before. But ya, Following those two shitty films
I don't think this one will be good unfortunatly. Half the sci fi film fans
are up in arms about it.

Maybe when i was 5. It's just where I am people call anime manga and manga manga they all think they're one and the same. And considering this topic was posted in the debar forum than suddenly moved to the anime section i jumped to conclusions after what one of the posters said.

well it depends ya don't have to draw if there were caribbean or trini cartoons they would need voice artists colorists,etc etc.
What a lot of people around here are forgettin is the japanese make
their stuff for one audience only the japanese it's only people from
other countries that have been drawn to it. It could work if you make stuff soley for your target audience the people at home for if they won't support
it than no one else will.

And there's tons of stuff you could do here. Most jap cartons are sci fi
based. Yuh telling mi that you would find it totally unbelivable if a
cartoon had a trini as the hero and it was based in sweet T+T and
they all went into outer space to fight aliens and save the earth?

now i for one would find that REAL bad!!!!

I will once it happens. I'm glad you think dat way because the
carribean has tons of culture and stuff to make a cartoon about.
esentially is n't that what anime reflects,aspects of japanese culture?
stuff and legends that we have no idea about but enjoy the concept?
Maybe dark goddess you can write a story as well as voice act?
The point is it has to start somewhere and the best thing about trini
is there are signs that if any caribbean anime were to start anywhere it would seem to be here.Once I return to trini I wanna
contribute to that movement,because as much as I love anime
and all It would be a kick to seem some cartoon with a trini "princess" kicking some Jumbies butt.....

Does anyone do manga or their own comics regardless if it been published yet? I'm attempting mi own manga at the moment even though i'm an ammo (anudder word fuh amateur but ammo sounds better)
at the time being it's quite hard to do. I was wondering if anyone had more
experience in this field. Do you send your stuff to japan or to the
american manga companies?
