It has been modified to output stereo audio and composite video which
removes the need for an rf unit[You can still use an rf unit if you want to.]

Ole Talk / Consolizing a Neo Geo arcade board

So i've been playing around with this idea about consolizing a Neo Geo arcade board.

Its been done and documented fairly well online

but i decided to do one here. So this thread will serve as my progress report/documentation for anyone else who may want to try it in the future.

For this lil project I'll need some components

Neo Geo MVS board
Jamma Harness
Video Encoder
Power supply
Soldering Iron
Solder
Soldering Skills
Patience

So far I've got
Neo Geo MVS board  - $660 [Using ebay $600 + $60 skybox]
Soldering Iron - $45 [40watt]
Solder - $110 [Roll]
Soldering Skills [Intermediate]
Patience.....

The board I'll be using for this project will be the Neo Geo MVS MV-1FZ
this is a one slot board and easiest to convert [imo]

There are 2 video encoders that come recommended
Either JROK or Neobitz

I've decided to go with the Neobitz why?
1. Its cheaper for the lowend model [which will output s-video and composite only] than the JROK version
2. Neobitz come recommended for neo geo where as JROK is universal.

As of today the Neobitz Composite/S-Video encoder will cost USD $55 + $6 shipping
So I'll be ordering that soon enough [low on funds atm]

As for the power supply after looking around it seems that all 1 slot neogeo boards
can work with +5V 2 amps so with that in mind i decided to go with something a little
more as the board is rated for 7amps.
I finally settled on this power supply which is rated @ +5v 4 Amps

Currently waiting for this item to arrive I'll update the pricing of the items as I get them.

I'll also want to build a case to house my console so I'll need to get some help with that if any of you guys know where I might be able to make a plastic [plexi?] enclosure feel free to let me know.

So I'm interested in knowing if there are any other peeps like me out there in lil ole T&T.
The Era I'm referring to is Pre-Ps2. So that would include all cartridge based to 1st Gen Cd gaming consoles Ps1,Sega CD,Saturn,etc...
Same for handhelds from your old handheld Tiger LCD to the Gameboy Advance [1st Gen]
I collect and have been for about 5years now.

Game Theory / Designing a local side scroller beat em up

So this idea has been in my head for a while now..
was playing some good old streets of rage and final fight the other
day and i was wondering how cool would it be to have a game based in/on trinidad.
I'm thinking along the same route of sof/ff and the graphics being 16bit.
I have the story and some concepts already.

So what I was wondering is if anyone of you fellow gatters would be interested in helping producing
said concept?

So my parents pc needs upgrading and I'm looking to do that but with minimal cost.
They use their pc mostly to check mail and surf the web.
Maybe the occassional youtube video but thats as intense as it gets usage wise.
If any you guys can help with locating this item i would appreciate it.

Biostar Geforce 6100 AM2 mobo
2Gb ram

So if there isn't such a place  well then here's my contribution...

I see that pricemart La Romain has WD MyBook 3Tb drives for $1200
I did some looking around and that seems to be a pretty good price when you factor in shipping and handling if you buy it online as Amazon and other online retailers have it for around US $150 - 189.
what you guys think?

ok so our wii hasn't seen any use in the last 6 months so I've decided to sell it.
Its adult owned so don't worry about it being man handled.

The console works perfectly. No problems. It reads sd card, usb drives and game discs without any problems.
One of the wii motes give some problems cant figure out why though...sometimes it works then other times it cuts off. I'll try to identify the faulty one.

So I went a bit overboard with shopping and ended up with too many tshirts...
so now i have to get rid of the excess....
they are all XL as they were initially intended for me
all are original & authentic and have never been worn.
the toy story tee glows in the dark.
each are $110 except for the facebook tee which isnt original so that's $80

Thnunder cats tee added!
So I found this in a pocket in my suitcase....don't know how i forgot this one.
It's not an original and as such its $80
Like the rest it's new and unused.
