So I got the wife's permission and I bought Halo: Reach. of course I don't have DLC yet but at least I could sweat the basics with you all when it comes around again.

Given what Phoenix said I wonder if a video card is the answer for me. I don't know anymore. Interested though...given the price.

did some checking... that CPU really does not handle HD (at least h264) decoding all that well.. so the options you have is to get an a good GPU and use a program that would let the GPU do the decoding (like XMBC or Media Player Classic/Core Codec) or upgrade your CPU to a Core 2 Duo or better
WOW! Thanks for that. This changes things. It seems I am forced to rebuild the entire system as I doubt my MB could handle a newer CPU. I am running a ASUS p5nd2 - sli mother board.

When you say a reboot of the card, exactly what do you mean. Does the system reboot? In that case, you're looking at some hardware problem.
No the card itself reboots. It is as though it powers down and then restarts. you hear the fan stop and restart and well the video stops and restarts as well. There is also a message from the management software (CATALYST) telling you that the card has restarted.

I was pleased to sweat with you all last Tuesday. What made it especially enjoyable was the fact that there was no profanity not that it is a big issue but it could be a nuisance when playing with American youth.
BTW I have Gears of War 2 but I don't have any downloadable content so if anybody wants to play that I dey.

okay so r u saying I may need to also get a new CPU? I am running an Intel Pentium Dual Core 3 GHz. I think I need a new GPU because I see weird shapes when I play games on the pc and well the choppiness with HD content.

Yes the drivers are up to date but they have stopped support for that card...it too ole.

Well it does run HD but it is "choppy" anything higher than 360 p causes a reboot of the card. Anything that is graphics intensive causes the card to reboot. Also it does not have HD out and I want to connect it to the television to view content on HULU  .

Greetings! I need to upgrade my graphics card to run HD content. I have an Asus p5nd2 - SLI MOBO and currently run an ATI Radeon X1900XTX graphics card. My question is will a card like for example Sapphire HD 2600XT Pro ATI 512mb DDR3 Video Card work on such an old MOBO? I really need it for connecting the pc to the TV so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also any places with good prices and stocks would be appreciated too. Thanks.

Cool video. What we voting for next? These are the titles I have that you all may be interested in. HALO 3, Gears of War 2 and COD: Modern Warfare 2. I borrowed the latter two so I have no experience or maps in those. I do however play HALO 3. I hope HALO 3 makes the cut this week. Did I mention what a cool game HALO 3 is? Anyway I am looking forward to voting for HALO 3 in this week's poll. I wonder how many times I said HALO 3 in this post? It is like I am trying to subliminally sway the vote in favour of HALO 3. Hey 3M, we can sweat Halo 3 anytime, it doesn't have to be on Throw Down Tuesdays  but you should try to borrow and play Halo Reach, its a really fun game with the new loadouts etc. Lets see how the poll goes and if it doesn't go Halo 3's way, don't fear we'll organize a side sweat for Halo 3 as some of us still do have it...

I got a tease of it by my cousin who has it but he trying to get all of the achievement so he not parting with that one...for now. But I've always wanted to ask, does GATT have a system to rent games? I guess REACH would be a title that would be always out on loan.

Could you elaborate on your use of Strong VPN specifically with Amazon VOD? Firstly, are you in Trinidad? I ask as some people here are not within our borders. Secondly, if you are in Trinidad did you have to set up a new Amazon account as I believe they require a US based credit card / address. Did you have to use entropay or some other work around for the credit card issue? You can message me the details if you like but others may be interested in your knowledge. Thanks.
Yep, im in trinidad, using my rbtt cc. I have my skybox address (ezone) on my card and on amazon's website. Ive never tried to buy videos, I sure it will work, cause I have amazon prime membership so there's alot of movies/tv series that are free to stream. I hardly ever use amazon, cause i love netflix too much. As for the latest movies i still download stuff after they get ripped from Bluay/dvd
I believe the issue is the billing address for the cc. If you could stream video then the magic is rbtt cards. if u can, try to stream one of the free videos of Amazon and let me know please. Thanks for responding.
