Second Rounds
Second round was madness that started off with a rebooting Xbox that interrupted the 1st game, Ghost vs Killers in thier final play-offs from last week.. Killers was up 1 v 0, with 7 mintues left on the clock. In a contreversial move, the game was restarted at 10 min, and killers was allowed to secure a capture to bring it back 1 v0. Ghost managed to tie it up to cause the 1 flag tiebreaker at zanibar, which ghost manage to win to advanve to the next round. Contrevery still regns, killers thought they were treated unfairly. Tournemnt must go on
Ghost met up Carnage immediately after, who dispathed them in both Slayer And KOTH, sending them packing to the losers circle, where they might yet again face killars. Carnage went foward to the semis, to meet plauge...
Losers circle still had the most matches to run.
First up was the new comers Hitokiri, who had forfieted the first rounds, thus automatically started in the losers circle. They went up against the freshly lost Killers, and handed them thier second defeat in a row, ending the Killers advancement in the tournament. A Short breather, then it was Hitokiri up against the Tobago Side, the Saints, in one of the closest contested matches of the tourney, with a 49 tied Team Slayers that a near simultanous kill resulted in Hitokiri edging out the Saints 50-49. Saints tried to rally back in KOTH but would succumb by a mere 15 seconds
A late show of the Fantasy team mate resulted in semi final play off of Carnage and Plague, with Plague taking the first two matches early to send Carnage into the losers bracket and to advance to the finals.
Fantasy vs Ghost, was next, with the belmont crew determined to regain face after thier defeat at the hands of plague last week. This was to be denied however, as Team Ghost finaly seemd to have settled into ther groove, using the sniper as easily as a pistol. Who said in your face sniping can't be done?
Ghost met up the eager Hitokiri, who were hyped after thier two consecutive victories. Ghost however was in thier stride, and showed it by holding off the assasin side to move forward.
Yes, the final losers match would be a second showdown between Ghost and Carnage, both having a point to prove - But it would be Carnage that emerged vistoruoious for the second time against the Ghost team.
At last Finals: Plague Vs Carnage. Plague were extremely confident, having beat carnage before, and having come thru without a single loss. This means that they would have to lose twice, which seemed unthinkable to them.
The first match, Team slayer took place on lockout - a map Plague was confident they would dominate. This was not to be as Carnage went on a decisive route, defeating Plague by over a dozen kills, and then taking it all the way in KOTH, in Beaver Creek, a map the loser of the first round had the option of choosing, handing the shocked Plaugue team thier first defeat of the tournement.
A small water break, and the tension was high into the absolute final of the tournement. Plague took the offensive to take the first slayer match as they had previously predicted. Carnage called for a KOTH on beaver creek again, and this descion proved wise as the manage to tie it up, taking in to the CTF match, 15 mintues classic CTF on Lockout.
7 mintues and no capture and it seemed like it would go to a 4th game, 1 flag CTF in zanibar... until Plague finally found thier groove and captured the flag twice, and succedded in repelling all attempts by Carnage to take it 2-0 to winthe tournament.
Great Games by all, spectacular kills by the Hitokiri and Ghost teams - some insane Banshee flying by Plague...
Congrats to Plague, on a hard earned victory.
