enjoyed death note up to episode 18 or so, then it started to get weird....really really odd, and i lost interest. has it gotten back on track? is it worth going back to watch?

it has reached episode 32, and to me that episode rocked!!! IT was really good! but to appreciate the awesomeness of it, u need to hav watched all the precious ones leading up to it......cant wait 4 ep 33 next week!!

OMG i stopped watching death note for a while due to my hatred of waiting 1 week for each naruto and bleach episode and i just downloaded eps 21-34 OMFG

L is Dead i expected that though but, M aka Mello and N, Aka Near are real bad@ss but i think the fact that N is sure light is kira is going to be a big problem for light. And didnt lights father say Mello's name out loud how come light aint write it down lol.

i reached ep 34 , After Ryuzaki the plot didn't do itself justice , more mindgames and the stakes not raised high enough as i'd want it , but still a damn good anime...

Funny how even the japs use biblical imagery , 'Washing of feet' by L before what happens , and his 'resurrection' after .

Watched the last episode , 37 , Kuro Hana isn't doing subs anymore , look for Ruberia..

Ended as i expected , Shakespearean, though i'm not satisfied , wish they did it more complete but its open to interpretation .

I haven't watched it out qiute yet but, isn't 37 a strange number, tradationally an anime is either 24/26 or 50 esipodes long ( excluding the long running series), so i can't help but wander if it was cancelled or something??

The only thing I didn't like about the ending was how easy Light was caught after six years of outsmarting everybody. He would usually have a contingency plan just in case his first plan didn't work out but this time he was so sure that he thought of everything that he practically sold himself out. But still the series was great and i watching the 2 movies now even though they deviate a little from the series.

I know I am very late but I now start to watch this anime, being out of school means I have a lot of free time finally. Anyway this is my new obsession... I am not going to read much on this thread until I finished watching the series cause I don't want to see any spoilers. But this anime is one of the best!!

How it should have ended:-

They made the point to show us that "Any owner of the death note does not go to heaven or hell after they die"

So Light should have died, then they show us where he goes to, for me I would prefer he went to the Realm of the Death Gods.

There he is given the death notebook that he used during is life and he is transformed into a Death God himself.

With this he keeps throwing it on earth to try to get a human that is "worthy" to carry out Kira's plan....

check the manga @ www.onemanga.com, there was one more chapter set several years after light's death , and one before light's story entirely.

I can see spin off series being possible : The original death note changed the world permanently , and how would the people have dealt with those changes? what about other gods besides shinigami?
