I've hear rumors that shiek's chain can hold onto the stage in a similar manner that link and samus own does........that true?

Why is samus such a bada$$!!!! she is like the best character!! seriously!!!

Marth is not cheap.......jus misunderstood

Whoa....kay.
Sounds like somebody had way too much coffee this morning.

Anyhoo.
Smash Brothers, to me, is a pretty decent game.
However, if I was to name one thing I'd change that I'm glad to see that Nintendo is doing is getting rid of all of the useless, arbitrary characters that were cluttering up the Melee version.

I mean, seriously. Do you really need Pichu in the game?
Dr. Mario would be just fine as an alternate costume, as would Young Link.

I, for one, am glad Meta Knight and Pit are in the game. That was a pretty awesome move.
What would rock hardcore is if Sonic does actually make it into the game.

As I remember, Zelda and Shiek were one character and you could switch between them to alternate your fighting styles. I always thought you had to be really good to play with her and I hope they keep her in the lineup.

....OMG if she llooks like the zelda from twilight princess that would be awesome!!! She'll look cute and hot and she'll hav a sword n light arrows!!!!

imagine Ganondorf!! they should base him on the dorf from twilight........they will prob make his sword actually useable then, bc in melee it was just 4 sho at the end of a fight wen he was posin as the winner.....lol....young link should be in brawl rite?? wat if they put in a young zelda

to match the whole young link scene??muahaha!!! u know how link does his supers-like triforce attack.....wat if wen zelda is on a team wid him, dey do a team thing since they r both from d same game??Wat if they include a team supers thing???

Anyhow:

I took at look at the links referring to Smash Brawl.. and I am impressed. Love the character intro trailer.

I think I am ready to own my first console since......1990!! (have an NES parked up somewhere)

When Smash bros came out.. I used to annoy my friends with Pikachu

In Smash Bros Meelee, Ice Climbers, Mr Game n Watch and Peach were my favs, Peach in Particular with the slow descent.. saved my butt far too many times.

Sonic would definitely be a good add on, but I wonderabout his smash attacks... his well known roll/rip out is identical to Jigglypuff's in Melee

The presence of SNAKE was a huge surprise tome (Now I have NEVER played ANY Metal Gear games.. EVER!! Time to start, oui)

@ NEO: I think the ninitendoggie is anditem that is supposed to block you view of your character as he climbs the screen

On the Zelda/Sheik issue... who is Sheik? story line explanation that is. But I think She should return in Brawl.

I finally get to see... Samus's FACE!.. but I think the "zero suit" should be an unlockable alternate costume, not a dedicated character. Who knows, though?

I wanted to post before anyone else posted about Shiek. If you don't know who Shiek is, you should play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. If you plan to get a Wii, you can download it on Virtual Console. Trust me when I say that you are better off playing the game and finding out that way. We have something in common with Pikachu. I always played with the little fella and it was just hilarious to hear everyone screaming about killing that dam rat before he cause any more damage. Fellas used to start walking with mouse traps to intimidate me (j/k).

Ok if you ask me ,your all over reacting to gaara.

Look at his posts. He embodies what smash is!(sure he might be insane and posting from St. Anns) but smash is a Fast, Quick, Nonstop, assault on your senses and if you can't handle reading his posts, then how do you handle smash?

And there is no "arbitrary" character is smash, you just cant play em

And those little differences like speed, or damage, add to the game. I prefer doctor mario over real mario.

The only character I'd consider broken would be marth....literally unstopable if in the right hands (but I still want him in brawl, along with all the others!)

And if ANYBODY! call jigglypuff useless I go come to your house and Falcon punch yuh in yuh head.

If anyone else plays computer on 9 , test this for me and my bro pwease, whenever we put luigi and capt falcon plus me and my bro in a 4 free for all, they both become insanely cheap and litterally do impossible things, i.e. After getting hit with a bat , luigi did his little headbutt and came right back onto the stage, hitting me with the headbutt and killing me (you know the super headbutt thats rare, but luigi always gets it when he needs it)

Or captain Falcon , Falcon punching his way back onto the stage after being hit off. No other two are as cheap as them for some reason.

Tiers are a general breakdown of how each character stacks up in comparison to the other characters in the game. The tier list assumes a few things. First and most importantly is that it is based on the current metagame (which is based on the mind-games and technical skill of the top players). Current is the vital point here, it is not based on future potential, but on current potential (as a note here Fox is considered to have the most potential in the game). Second, the tier list assumes those playing are of near equal skill, and that they are both near the top of the technical (human) ability for their given character.

What exactly does all this mean? Essentially under most circumstances the higher tiered character will beat the lower tiered character. It is a simply a list of overall advantages, which characters have more advantages in more match ups than other characters. What it doesn't mean is that Sheik will always destroy Marth simply because she is located 2 spots above Marth on the tier list. The impact of the tier list at the top levels of play is minimal once you move into the High Tier and above. Instead, counter characters begin to play a larger role. This also brings up a large portion of the confusion regarding the tier list because a lower ranked character can be a counter to a character ranked much higher. The easiest example here is the Ice Climbers versus Sheik. While Sheik has more advantages in more match ups, the Ice Climbers are one of the few characters that can chain grab her, and as a result they are her only hard counter.

I know it doesn't matchup but the tier listing I posted is from August 2006 where as the MLG one is from June 2006, it's the previous version of the tier list, also the line between High and Mid can be argued , like most other games. Bottom line is fox is pretty much top wherever you go , I've seen Sheik moved around a few times but it is within High and Top.
