Ahm...no.  Closer analysis of the results are quite contrary to that last statement.
Allow me to illustrate:

Arcman                                                     Captain Awesome

So, while your overall score is greater, what this actually demonstrates is a significantly better GPU (with a significant OC I'm sure).
The multithreaded nature of 3DMark06's CPU test means that a dual-core CPU cannot beat a quad-core, regardles of OC.  Since this app is much
more GPU dependent, we can see here that even a quad-core cannot make up the difference.  Sadly, this same result is reflected in most current games,
which is why it makes so much more sense when upgrading to focus on the video-card first (if the primary use of the PC is for gaming).
This is certainly not to say that the choice of CPU is not important, but only that its not as crucial as the video-card.  At least for right now.

frankly, dani, I dont think the system would be stable @ 100% load for very long. The oc was for the purpose of benchies only.

Methinks he speaks of this guy

This is his benchmark result.  (video-card OC only)

This gives credence to what I just showed a few posts back.  This is an expected result from an 8800 GTX.
If he OC's the CPU, then the result might actually cross 14k.  Impresssive, but not altogether surprising.

Ok so Sax jusssttttt brought Rage's Q6600 to "test" to make sure its working. So you KNOW we OC and benchmark that biatch!!!!!.....

All system specs remained the same, only thing changed was the CPU. On overclocking it to 2.8Ghz, we got something like 12,700 3d 06 points. At 3.0Ghz though we passsed that magical mark of 13,000, and quite considerably too. What we got? 13166!!! 3dmark 06 points

Just for clarity The system is based on a cheap gigabye GA P35 D3SL board with 800Mhz Corsair @ 1000Mhz and an 8800GTS 640 @ 660/2.02 (Could go higher) This quad could also go higher but my Arctic Freezer Pro seems to need some lapping in order to get the cooling this quad needs.

So Arc and others, ill be taking back the crown now...........wait............I already HAVE the crown!!!!! hahahahahhahahahhhhaahahah XD PWNNNTTTTTTT thanks Sax for letting me "test" for the hour.

So I will thank you noobs with 8800gt's for not touching my 4th place in the rankings except only if youre gonna put me in third place. Donttt touch eeeeeetttt.

In case the pic doesnt load, thats 12,522 points.

Thank you.

FYI, Clocks are 670gpu, 2160 memory, 1700shader, 3.48ghz cpu.

I could have gone higher with cpu AND card if I wanted.

The following noobs' bases are hereby pwnt...

Philosophical45
Nephilim
Berzerker
Jedi
Saxman
Noobgonewild

...and the rest.

8800gts 640 pwns all your base.

If I had even a stripped down low end quad aka q6600, I would pwn the following noobs' bases as well...

Arcman
Seecar (shouldnt even be on the list anymore I should be third since he's sold his system...ahem noob)
SPK

kthxbye
