Ay, I got that board from SAx, because it was here, and I couldn't wait. Also, I was curious about the P31 chipset.
Remember, this PC won't be on all the time, so the board is quite adequate. As for reckless OC'ing...nah. Baby steps.

Interestingly, the CPU achieved this speed with only a small increase in CPU voltage.
Thanks to the outstanding performance of the Thermalright Ultima-90 HSF, there was
absolutely no change in CPU idle/load temps.

Notice, also, that at 3 GHz it actually bests the performance of the more expensive AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 Black Edition.

Truly a great CPU indeed.

Do you seriously think that i'm gonna keep a CPU for as much as 2 years? Besides, according to the Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide, the L2 stepping of the c2d's can withstand Tjunction (core temp) temperatures of up to 100celcius and a Tcase (cpu temp) of up to 85celcius. So a core temp of 75 and cpu temp of 60 isnt exactly climing everest bare handed with only a draws on.
