Guys,

need your help with this one.

I am gonna get a handheld for [X]-Jin. Recommendations?

For those of you that don't know my son, he is a 10 year old boy and like his dad, loves games.

PSP? or Nintendo DS Lite?

Follow up with a few choice titles to get him.

i love my psp....final fantasy 2 is a great game...i forgot it in new york tho :p....iz probably according to wat genre games the little guy likes

I stand by PSP as well....
Got some kid friendly titles such as Loco Roco (one of best games), Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Lego Star Wars, Spiderman 2/3....

You know...the more spohisticated fun titles for the creative young mind....

As with the DS you get Pokemon

So if he likes pokemon i'd choose DS....other wise PSP FTW...
MOre bang for buck... Music/Videos/Internet/Online Games/Wi-Fi/Browser etc...etc...
(and compatibility with PS3...)

get both. the PSP has the PS2 "ports" in them...which is what im carrying on my trip this christmas. Graphics DO make a difference...at least to me

Pokemon my @ss......Mario Kart, Shonen Jump and Metroid ONLINE hoss.

all that media on the PSP is gaaarrbbbage with the memory space and battery life. My ZUNE plays all that sh!t fine and the batt life is much...MUCH longer.

I'd say DS, mostly cos I have one...can't argue with Phantom Hourglass...Zelda FTW!

PSP has some interesting offerings, but nothing to make me run out and get one.

i own one, and baego yu know i does real sweat game,

i hack my psp, and still have few games to actually play.
psp has tekken though so thas a plus for jin
buh honestly ds has the best games

psp games are mediocre except for a few

i have acess to all psp games and i only actually play 4
tekken, loco roco, prince of persia and lumines

only other title i want real bad is monster hunter buh i need a umd to play that and bleach so bleh.

best thing bout psp? all the media options, including reading pdfs an stuff an using the psp to chat on msn an yahoo an stuff as well as the horde of other hacks for it.

as for gaming, cah beat the ds no joke.

She wants the Hannah Montana Games

And I'll get me my pokemon...!

In case anybody out there is interested, don't forget to give Jeanne D' Arc for the PSP a try.
From what I hear, it's pretty decent.

Also, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 is coming soon for the PSP.
Seeing as how the first one royally rocked my boxers, you should definitely see about taking this one for a spin.

judging from these posts getting both is really the best bet oui, lol.

no pun intended, but we are going with the Wii. Decided to get him involved in the process as well and he was really keen on the nintendo next gen console. Seems all the kids at school are going crazy over it.

Will stave off the handheld purchase for christmas. (If lucky, I can chain up a grandma and grandpa to make the spend on both the psp and ds, lol)

These look like the games to get on the wii:
metroid prime 3: corruption (this is the one that he was most interested in)
zelda twilight princess
wii play (mostly for the second wii-mote)
mario strikers charged
super paper mario
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
donkey kong barrel blast
Naruto Shippūden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX
That last one is Japanese so we can only run that If a loader exists for the latest Wii firmware

If not, they got Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution coming in october, an american version but featuring characters before the shippuden era.

He is a naruto freak so I'm sure that will keep him happy for a while.

Time to rub shoulders with the folks in the wii thread immc.

lol, definitely.

got the Wii and I must say that I'm disappointed by the graphics, despite all the forewarnings.

and this with metroid prime, supposedly the most graphically splendiferous title for the console to date.

apart from that, my boy was thrilled to the point of feeling to cry, so mission accomplished.

can't wait for christmas now to get wii some new games, lol.

I'm a PSP owner and I have to say if all you want is games on the go that are designed for a mobile gaming experience then DS beats the crap outa PSP. Now if you like to watch media and listen to music and hack your firmware and play emulators and not have to buy a game ever again then PSP wins.
