Yet again, Intel does the dastardly deed with their price cuts just as AMD releases a new product.
Admittedly, this is due to percieved 'healthy' competition from AMD's products of course.

Still want to put together that AMD system right now.....?

Don't you just LOVE those new quad-core prices?

i coulda do with the E83 or ah E6850 and i woulda pay the same bleddy thing...

yuh know what does burn me, is not that they does drop price eh, is that is the minute i get a new system, < a week after they drop price or bring out a better part for same money...steups...Intel and nVidia have a thing with me, i feel they does hold board meetings to see how to f#$% with me...

hoss if you still on amd, hell on any old platform, and thinking of upgrading now is the time allyuh, check them prices in teh C2D and C2Q them is bess prices, doh stick...ESPECIALLY THE Q67 - THAT IS 1/2 OFF YO!

I think it should also be mention that it still remains to be seen what the actual retail values are however even so i don't think they gonna be too far off *crosses fingers*

Geez ... WOW ... gasp!

Prices like that put my 5th place benchie rank in danger, especially when the man in 10th is only 1795 points off my score. Soon any noob*cough*CMR*cough could put a system together and overtake me..

AMD, you not leaving me much other viable choices beyond switching to Intel at this point. But i'll still clench my butt muscles hoping for a surprise by year end. If not...

This is good news for us the consumer, I hope they drop the prices on their chipsets as well because X38/X48 is still at a RIDICULOUS price. So too are the Nvidia 690 and 7xx series mobos. Also intel doesn't have a particularly viable HTPC option atm.

The E8400 finally shows itself...and the prices not that bad either.

Them Q9300 prices giving trouble though...especially when the prices lower on other sites.
I could definitely see one in my future though.

Yep...more impending price cuts biatches.

Intel is in a comfortable place right now, price/performance-wise, so its almost like they doing what they
want with their prices. The Core 2 Duo lineup is so vast, I feel a bit sorry for AMD on the CPU front.
Intel is competing at every price point.

You may not actually see that until the Nehalem generation. You can very easily OC the Q6600 or Q9300 to 3 GHz with stock voltage.
Only the FSB need be adjusted.

Of course you will get higher scores in XP, so its not an issue.
