The 875 is a great value (though one has to consider mobo, ram, etc if you don't already own a LGA1155). But I found the review very intel oriented. Something as simple as the 1090T and 875 sharing the same score but the 875 has an ever so small but noticeable longer bar in the graph and lighter colour making it seem as though it performed better. Ppl may not take that on, but subtle things like that are marketing tools to make a product seem better than it actually is. That being said I can buy a 1090T and drop it in my DDR2 mobo so from an upgrade perspective that CAN'T be beat. If you're building a NEW system and have a decent budget, you can't go wrong with the 875.

it does seem intel oriented...

so might be wise as well to find some varying reviews and actual reviews when the cpu is released before taking any plunge... but i always do extensive research on parts before buying and would urge people to do the same...

you do have a good point about just dropping the 1090t in a current system, but that's granted you are already AMD based... for me going either way i would at least have to change my mobo as well

http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/28/intel-core-i7-875k-and-core-i5-655k-unlock-multipliers-better-p/

This link has reviews from all d major players of the unlocked cpu. Anantech own is particularly useful to me, because my i7 920 already running at 4.4 on liquid, but the new 875 seems to be bottlenecked by the amount of voltage it can take. Will have to read up some more to make my final conclusions, but an unlocked multiplier wont d me much if d chip itself cant handle d jam.
