Gun nut injects chip into hand

So he can find his gun quicker in the dark

By Nick Farrell: Thursday, 23 October 2008, 9:19 AM

A BLOKE in the Land of the Free has injected an RFID chip into his hand using supplies bought on the internet.

The bloke, who goes by the handle of Quethe, posted his adventure on YouTube in a fairly scary video if you don't like needles much.

He said that the tag is readable from up to two inches from his hand.

The big idea was that Quethe had a problem. In the dead of night he would be reaching for his gun and he wanted to open his weapon safe without having to fumble in the dark for buttons or codes. After all it is his constitutional right to play around with guns in the darkness.

Quethe went out of his way to point out that RFID tags implanted in his hand did not mean he was installing the "Mark of the Beast" from the Book of Revelation.

For those of you who have not read John of Patmos's best seller, it warns that installing the 'mark of the beast' in your hand or forehead makes you a disciple of the anti-christ who goes by the number 616. This was later upgraded to 666 thanks to a typo.

Quethe said people who translate Revelation that literally should exploring the ocean for a giant monster. He said that the right hand is the action hand which is a symbol of our works and the forehead is our mind and a symbol of our faith and thoughts. The right hand is also apparently our gun hand. Quethe said that RFID is old hat and er dead handy.

While we applaud a born again Christian's intelligent interpretation of the Book of Revelation, we wish Quethe had applied the same interpretation skills to the US constitution. The so called "right to bear arms" clause is clearly allowing the former UK colonists to form their own militias, which was something they were forbidden to do by the British.

Still it is nice to see that technology can help children of a loving god draw their weapons faster in the dark, we assume so that they can turn the othe r cheek faster on night-time intruders.
