where to fix wii remote
« on: November 29, 2008, 06:31:33 PM »
Ok so my remote was working just fine till someone put the batteries in back to front. Whe i looked i saw the silver coating coving the positive end was scrached away. Now the remote cuts off alot and most of the time dosent come on at all. It drives me crazy to think of having to buy a new one just because some fool couldn't be bothered to but in the batteries in right and that in gulf is at least 350. for a new one!

Anyone know how i can fix this?

Kiya, I suggest you send a PM to 'rb' asking him if JK Entertainment can fix it, or if they know of anyone
that does.  If they don't know, then I think you might be out of luck.  Its strange that improper polarity
would kill a device like that.  Usually it just won't power on.

You sure someone else didn't drop the thing?

I'm guessing thats exactly what happened, which probably caused the batteries to fly out.
There's probably some damage to the main circuit board, which would explain the 'dropouts'.
Who knows, maybe an electronics technician can fix it.

JK doesn't fix controllers, they never have. Doubt they'd start now. Honestly to troubleshoot a wiimote might be problematic it would be best to just get a new one as the cost to fix it would not be cheap to begin with and there is no guarantee on how long it would remain fixed anyway.

more sense to ask them to pick one up for you when they go up to the us or even try the trading grounds with a WTB ad, fellow GATTers may feel your plight and give you a bligh. I would if i had one to sell.

yea someone did drop so hard it made a dent in it. but it was working fine after. Could it be that the reverse battery thing was the straw that broke the camels back?
