Look again NGW. One merchant has the HSF for that price. That particular merchant always has overinflated prices compared to the others.

The actual price of that HSF is 67US. I'm currently using the LGA775 version in my main gaming rig, so I can attest to its performance.

67US$ is still a lot of dougb bro. That's a 500GB HD right thurr!

Seeing that the I7 920 can get up to 3.2 on air with the stock, I dunno.

That $$ could go into upping your vid card, which would have more impact on gaming performance.

Don't get me wrong though, if you already got the fastest vid card (the real bottleneck) then by all means, go buck wild on the processor.

All the more reason to consider Corei7 for a brand new PC.

well estimated start date was pushed to end of january/first week feb
so the last revision i made was addition of gtx 295, evga most likely (in part cause of their step up program) and i guess shaving some dollars off the mobo wouldnt hurt
