P90X/INSANITY/...
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:22:06 PM »
Ok, i know a few of us have been aboard the p90x train and hopefully loving it like me.
Someone also asked me if i ever used insanity, Iam not a big runner so no i havent but alot of people have as well.

So maybe we could combine forces and form a coalition of the willing here.

Organise Insanity running groups and p90x junky groups.
Also heard that phelps is known to burn 10k plus calories training in his pond, so maybe johny extreme level swimming groups could be awesome as well.

For fat burning, L carnitine is pretty nice rb
i forgot all the research i had when i was into lifting, but if you going protein, look for whey with as much protein per gram as you can find.

Oh and a double dose of seven seas is highly recommended

Boy I aint writing down squat I just keeping a mental note in terms of how wasted I am after a workout and comparing it to how I feel as I keep doing it lol.

My goal really is to get back my abs and build me some chest ( yes I am skinny lol) .

To be honest I using this as prep for when I get serious to hit the gym with proper weights.

My real goal is to be able to bench press 200lbs and more without too much difficulty :P

i think it happens to most people doing p90x
but whats important, in that three weeks, did you see and document results?
got stronger? lost weight? got fitter? stretch farther?

Tried the p90x.  It's good if you haven't been doing anything physical.  I got it for the ab workouts.  As for the rest of it, it was pretty much doable.  I'd find myself having to up my reps on the exercises or sets to get a good burn.  There are worse things out there than p90x but it's not bad at all.
Consciousness yearn to kill
To re-affirm the will,
Zealous I burn the drill
Forging, I mould the skill.

@Crix yes I definitely have gotten results. Starting to see the outline of my sixpack again, arms & shoulders a lil more defined, chest givin me a lil improvement and general fitness level increased greatly i.e. don't have that lazy feeling at the end of a work day.

As I said I aint documenting my stuff as I should but on a mental note I can safely say that it boosted my overall fitness level greatly. Oh and I can lift up the gf without much effort now :P

lol @ mental documentation

if you measure one thing alone, it will help greatly
for me i measure my pushup output weekly, as that tends to increase the most.
and i not my increased flexibility which is great for my return to judo
two other things i would suggest would be resting heart rate and max heart rate and recovery time i.e the time in minutes it takes for your heart rate to go back to normal after your workouts. It should be decreasing over time
good indication of fitness level.
