Calender marked.

But im a bit skeptical of what AMD can pull off. The 6xxx series feels rushed. I cant wait to see some numbers drop.

Hol some 'numbers' then... :laughing7:

...and here I was thinking about 2 x 6850...but with them numbers,
it looks like I should be shooting for 6870s instead.

That 'chart' just might be fake though.  I would have thought the 6850
would have been either on par with, or better than a 5850...not a 5830.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

yea i agree.. that chart looks kinda off..

with AMD's typical development.. the 6870 should replace the 5870 and the 6850 should replace the 5850....

i really hope its fake... unless the 6870 comin @ dog cheap prices

I read somewhere that the 6770 would perform between the 5830 and 5850... so yeah seems like alot of conflicting info...

PS that was NOT a type I said 6770 aka budget card.

Price of them cards realll friggin attractive boy jah.

Would have gladly snapped up two 6870's instead of 460's but poor crossfire support make them loose this customer.

My goodness.  Such great PRICES!!!

Decisions, decisions.....  :happy0203:

...and now that I have seen the benchmark numbers...I officially want TWO HD 6870s

I don't know what arcane magics AMD conjured up to have the 6870s more or less matching/beating
the 5870s in Crossfire, but at those prices, the win here is undeniable.

...AND the power consumption is better.  Icing on the cake for me.

Cap me boy...the ONLY way Nvidia could get me to buy them 470s now, is if they drop the price to
about 260-270 dollars.

Well the 470 is already that price. Heat and power consumption isnt worth it imo though.

Thing is that the 460 has amazing oc potential. A well oc'd 460 will beat a stock 6870 which apparently has little oc potential because out of the box the clocks are already jacked up.

Keep in mind the 460 is now $200, excellent value, had I waited I would have saved $40us.

After witnessing the instant win that is Nvidia 460, I am keeping FAR away from ATI for at least the next couple generations, ESPECIALLY crossfire after all the crap I went through. Just take a look at guru3d ATI driver section and you'll see what I mean.

If the gtx580 performance is right, that could be my next upgrade.

got an email from xfx on one of the new hd 6xxx cards. the card has some nice specs. I think it was a 68 something can't remember the last two numbers. but it looks like a powerhouse....I still have no regrets buying the GTX 460 though lol...but I'll give GATT gamers respect if they acquire this card!

Ah boy...competition is nice.  Look what it does for prices.  :happy0203:

AMD make Nvidia drop de price AGAIN.  The GTX 460 is a solid product
in its own right, I will admit, but I think AMD just might be getting my money again.
The price/performance here makes it a little more compelling.

Amazon has a HIS HD6870 for 274 US that has already sold out...and it was
released TODAY.  That should say something.  By Christmas, I'm sure
the availability will improve, so I'm not too worried.
