anyone here fixes or know someone who fixes monitors?

One of my 28 inch's, started dimming out and shutting off after staying on past 5 minutes or so. I'm thinking it may have been a surge, this monitor wasn't on ups.

have it around a year and a half warranty passed already.

this is the model..it also gets really bright, shows cleary for about a 10 minutes, then goes fullscreen white.

Can this 'someone' fix LCDs? Most TV techs can only fix CRTs.

I have an Acer 22-inch that I would like to get fixed as well.
If I can save on the expense of having to buy a new one, then
fling that info my way too yes.

Money crunch immc.

I know a crack shot in Chagaunas, but more often than not he recommends buying a replacement.

More than likely its just a fried inverter. Finding a replacement could be a problem though. The inverters i've replaced cost anywhere between $650 - $1300. If you say that the monitor was not on a surge, the damage could possibly be more serious. This is just something you could look into. If you are comfortable scrapping monitors you can even change it yourself.
