And sadly Capn's issues could actually be the fault of some other piece of hardware or software running in his machine... as with many things milleage may vary XD

Yeah, if I had to buy a single card right now, the 6950 would be it...especially
because of it's ability to 'unlock'.

...but somehow, there seems to be a puzzling anti-AMD sentiment running through this thread forum:)

...and I've honestly never heard of 'Diablotek' before.
My god...you went past ALL them other brands and end up there?  :shakehead:

I wish you had found this forum before you bought that.

We have been referring to the 6950, NOT 6850. The 560 runs like a 470 (and according tom's hardware practically IS a 470 without disabled features) and the 6950 1GB bests the 560 most times... so that would mean since 560>=470 and 6950>560 logically 6950>560...

My adice, get the gpu that gives the best performance at the resolution you play at or just get what you want because you would clearly have many options thrown out here (which is good) from members but just get what you want, cyar go wrong with that..

True dat...all the advice the guys gave were good...i would have never considered the 560...i think right now its between the 560 and the 6850...good power consumption vs bang vs buck...or i might just wait for crysis 2 to come out...try it on my system and if i not happy with the performance then upgrade the card.

You mean 6950, right?  Don't confuse em.

...and I found a review of that Diablotek PSU.

Oh.

My.

Lawd.

My advice to you my friend, is to replace that PSU asap.

Not to scare you or anything, but the way you're driving such a PSU
with your OC'ing, it's gonna fail catastrophically sooner or later.

I already had EVGA GTX460, no need to upgrade for crysis 2.. i'l wait for the GTX600 series which they called kepler.. GTX460 and 560 has little bit difference, GTX400 series and GTX500 series are fermi, so they had the same technology used.. but this year i rather wait for the GTX 600 series the kepler. cause it will use new technology, it will be 28nm. so its much cooler than 400 and 500 series.. it said it will be release on the last quarter of 2011..

Be that as it may, Nvidia isn't known for keeping their deadlines, particularly on process shrinks (admittently the fault of TSMC) and also because of power. These chips are getting bigger and more complex, couple that with new nm process usually == disabling features. The 560 is more akin to the 470 than the 460. It does have noticeable performance increases. That being said, if you follow a rule I subscribe to myself upgrade every 2 or more generations, then he could go with a 560 or as you said wait til the GTX 6xx comes out.

I think i may as well wait for the 6xx series...if it does come out by years end that will fit into my major upgrade plan...bulldozer or sandy/ivy bridge (which ever one overclocks better for a good price...having said that my major upgrade bank account is now 14k...by years end i hoping for 30k to dip into so i can finally build a true beast of a system with no compromise :D

14k is a quite healthy upgrade budget. I'll have make do with about a 7/8k budget depending on how much I can save between now and then.

Yes, the 560 is quite a bit faster than the 460. If by years end nvidia does release new parts/isnt even close, im hoping that the 570 comes down to about current 560 prices so that I can get two of those.
