Issues with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:20:31 AM »
I officially dislike MW3.....>:(

Server issues, poor hosts, only Trini matches...camping people who are stacking killstreaks, Elite still down, I am about to throw this game out of the window.......this game actually gave me a Migraine tonight....

Back to BF3!!

Guess it not as enjoyable as you thought it would be huh?  :/

Did you really expect the culture surrounding this game to improve?

Using the word 'team' in some of the modes is a joke really.
I am sure the guys using the Assault strike package are the ones 'stacking killstreaks'.

The killstreak, and the glorious KDR is what has ruined this franchise for all but a die-hard minority.
Sure, some improvements have been made with the addition of the other strike packages, but the good old
overpowered 'rain even more hot death on my enemies who I've just pwned' killstreaks are still in there.

Never liked the idea of it from since COD4.  Still don't like it now, but that's just me.
I've always found the idea broken, and it has just gotten worse.

I've seen how this franchise now causes people to tote serious, real-life feelings and say some pretty nasty things.
You yourself, Redlum, and W1nTry were witness to that on this very forum when you played the TakeBus clan.
That is what competition for KDR has become, because of COD.

...and the death of actual 'teamwork'.

It boggles my mind how 9.3 million of you drones went out and bought this...KNOWING FULLY WELL
what the online community for this franchise has devolved, yes, devolved to.   :shakehead:

Hear that.....?     That's the sound of ya boy Bobby laughing hysterically all the way to the bank.

I wonder when that 1st DLC is due?

to show you how much KDR means to me in this game, I was running around with pistol and throwing knife, because at this point, I don't give a rats a$$ about KDR... when I am in a game with all trinis and the host camping....that is what is frustrating. I am taking a break from this game for now until they attempt to fix the server issues and get Elite up and running. I agree about the killstreaks, it has definitely ruined COD and I would rather play COD 4 anyday. Even Black Ops is better than this, at least the killstreaks didn't stack in Blops...I think if anything, I will only play Kill confirmed, at least people have to keep moving to collect tags instead of lying on the floor or on balconies in wait to get the next stackable kill.

Sledgehammer Games' Glen Schofield has taken to Twitter to ask Call of Duty fans to support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Metacritic.

"I don't usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score," writes Schofield. "It's suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree."

Modern Warfare 3 is attracting a torrent of user scores of zero across all three platforms. The current user score (out of 10) is 2.7 on Xbox 360, 2.0 on PS3 and 1.5 on PC.

LOL @ beg for help. I'm surprised that they care about reviews and scores since they have and will continue to rake in the dough in a big way.

I'm not surprised @ the scores and reviews though. There was no beta so people did not know what they were getting into and were buying the brand name. Now that the game has released and people are seeing what their money has gotten them, HOPEFULLY massive backlash will FORCE these people to actually go back to the drawing board and deliver something better than just new maps with a couple extra (stackable) killstreaks. They certainly wont do it on their own as these businessmen clearly have no conscience.

GREAT singleplayer though. Is it worth $60? Well dont ask me, ask the 1300+ voters on metacritic.

The low score on metacritic is apparently under scrutiny atm, i'm sure they'll deliver a more decisive response soon.

Hint: Many low scores were tracked back to EA IP addresses

Does raise an eyebrow or two.

I have only 2 problems with the game:

1. Matchmaking is broken in T&T atm
2. They brought back Last Chance as a deathstreak

Other than that its no different from blops or any other COD game. Host is still king but if you play a smart game you can come out on top (as I do with my meager 2 out of 4 bars). Camping cannot be helped, no matter WHAT fps you play you will ALWAYS find campers, BF3 is NO slouch in that department. So All in all until the fix their matchmaking I don't have much else to complain about.

This thread is surprisingly quiet. Perhaps all the codders are out enjoying their new and expensive hot cup of fail.

Much easier to deal with campers in bf3 though with 3d spotting and destructible environments. People only get away with camping when they are allowed to.

Sounding similar to the BLOPS launch plagued with multiplayer issues I will do the same as I did with that .....

...get it next year when steam have it up for sale  and running smoothly cuz when I bought blops

at that time I had never had any problems with it still don't...

The game is good fun. It's simply battlefield fanboys bringing down the user score.
The game is selling amazingly well though.
Review scores/user scores apparently don't matter ;)

this does not make much sense. the game is good, new maps and few extra changes..but that is it. now tell me, would a high roller company like EA go and do that? to ruin their rep and name as well? truth is it can happen, but how much of us, outside the bf3 vsmw3 battle believe a company will do that over 1 game?

Sure, bf players are going to take their precious gaming time and waste it on that nonsense. Is is also totally outside the realm of possibility that fans of the series are sick of the same game year after year.

Yeah, I totally believe that.

While I certainty hold no brief for Activision, 1300 bad 'user scores' out of 9.3 million doesn't seem like that much of a problem.  The people who like it spoke with their wallets.  It's as simple as that.

...and that twitter post does seem like a 'beg' in truth eh.

Awesome I not referring to you guys.
I'm referring to the immature fanboy wars that has been going on for the past year between the 2 games.
You would be surprised at how many people would do anything to tarnish the CoD name.

However, I don't disagree with there also being people who bought the game and giving their honest feedback.

Really? If you believe that then you could believe anything.

I do agree that there are a lot of unfair reviews. I can understand that some may be disappointed but a score of zero just isn't right. Surely they're trolling.
