Android on the PC: What Apps would you recommend?

Seeing as I am stuck on BlackBerry due to corporate servitude, got this crazy notion, of running Android on the PC to use and fiddle with all those apps available.

Came across two options

Two questions:

1) Has anyone tried running android on their PC before?

2) What apps would you recommend as the "killer apps" for android?

I haven't actually done it, but i'm sure you already choose your stuff.

As for the apps. They have the same apps as everyone else, i think mainly more variety so you can find the app that does what you want. For me i have the droidcam(turns your phone into a webcam over wi-fi), flashlight, and whatsapp. I'm sure there are better ones, but i haven't had a need as yet so i haven't looked for different ones.

EDIT: I also have 2 media players as i was trying to find the best one for me, a stats counter, about 4 "windows live messenger" apps and an anti-virus, that's not inclusive of the games.

What exactly are they pushing here? Is that a native OS so you can install on a PC instead of Windows/Linux?

Might be just the thing.

Android is one thing, but if i can get to run iPad apps on my PC, i'll teach the person who found the way to do so my bead crafts personally, and all my secrets too

Oh yea, and if someone can find an Android App that works the same as the app named "Bead It!" e-mail/call me pronto!

If you're not going into development and just need pure emulation go with youwave
