Saxman's Intended PSU Upgrade
« on: December 19, 2011, 09:19:54 PM »
So fellow GATTers,

I have decided to upgrade my PSU in preparation for some... upgrades... to be performed in the next 6 months.

After much reviews I have settled on these two as my finalists.

in the Blue corner:
OCZ ZT Series 750W Power Supply
Manufacturer link

US$100 on Amazon
Fully modular
80 Plus Bronze
Single 12V rail (62A)
Review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=262

in the Red corner:
Corsair Professional Series HX750 750W Power Supply
Manufacturer link

US$130 on Amazon
Partial modular (ATX, CPU and PCIE attached)
80 Plus Silver
single 12V rail (62A)
Review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=153 (is an 850W, but it will represent)

I just torn:

I like the full modular cables, price, and visual aesthetics on the OCZ, but i like the 80+ silver rating, the endless top reviews on newegg and 7-year warranty on the Corsair.

So, please vote and specify your reasons. I may want buy this via one day shipping on Amazon as soon as tomorrow to get by Friday...

I personally prefer this PC Power and Cooling Silencer 760W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire ready Power Supply

But if I had to choose one of yours, I'd probably go with the OCZ

If it were modular, I'd consider it.

PSU Not modular? DO NOT WANT!!

Corsair of course!!!!! and if considering anything else the PC Power and Cooling is another solid choice.

Well, consider it a victory for Corsair.

It should arrive in Miami tomorrow, and hopefully be in hand by Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
