Lol @ dirt under fingernails.

Soooooooo, lemme just talk about the elephant in the room here...since Xbox One is clearly just an ordinary HTPC with some customised (x86) hardware, whats the possibility of us FINALLY having the Xbox OS available for regular ass PC's with KB and mouse support???????

This applies to Sony as well. You guys, are you listening???

OK...so I'm impressed with the new Kinect features, and the fact that it's now included as standard kit.
The new 'quick switch' feature is also great...as is the multitasking.  (Things my PC could do 5 years ago :/  )

Wasn't impressed by much else.  :(

I don't play sports games, or watch TV/movies on consoles...which is what the majority of this presentation focused on.  :(

Oh, and Call Of Duty...................

Just like their E3 presentation last year...the focus seems to be shifting away from actual GAMERS...you know, the ones who want
something OTHER than Call Of Duty and FIFA.  :(

At least the Halo TV series is a plus.
I wonder if Halo 5 and 6 will be Xbox One only...?

Paying to play a used game...wow...not sure how I feel about that one.

This article pretty much summed up my feelings...  http://e-mpire.com/content.php/2078-Xbox-One-Reveal-Reactions

Quote
All in all, the conference left a lot to be desired. Microsoft had better have one hell of an E3 press conference lined up if they expect to give the PS4 any competition at all at the end of the year. Even if they showcase an awesome lineup of games, the mandatory installs, pay to play online (especially now that PS4 is introducing the same features for free), and pay to play used games will hurt Xbox One a lot as it tries to compete with the PS4.

Consider me 'whelmed.

*waits patiently for E3*

From a purely technological standpoint, The XBOX One is superior to the PS4. Kinect 2, Force feedback in each individual button, multitasking, tripple OS so MS can advance the apps side without affecting the game side, etc etc, are all nice features that the ps4 does not have, (yes we know PCs have been doing this for eons). Xbox has positioned itself as the ultimate living room device. Something the playstation just cant compete with at the moment.

Games on the other hand is a different story. Sony traditionally has more and better exclusives than Microsoft. But despite that, the xbox 360 has beaten the ps3 in sales. I have no doubt that the Xbox One will follow suit, and leave PS4 brining up the rare.

COD Ghost new engine looks superior to B4, (provided the footage was real, i have a feeling they powered it with a pc).

Quite frankly i could care less for both Xbox One and PS4, i not getting either, cause ill be running all the cross platform games on meh PC. What i am happy about with the new consoles is the fact that, game advancement kind of limited to the technology available in the consoles. John Carmac said they can make games looking much much better utilizing the power of the pc, but then the consoles woudlnt be able to run it.

So unfortunately PC gaming is held back by the power of the consoles. So i glad for better looking games, and more advanced gameplay and mechanics, lighting, physics, etc. (Yes that dirt under the finger nails is actually amazing progress which translate to amazing overall detail and quality when done right collectively in a game, physx in borderlands 2 for instance, was done so good, it seems like a different game all together, when enabled on the high setting).

All in all, i never owned an xbox, not xbox 1, nor xbox 360. But i owned a PS2 and PS3. and quite frankly i think the xbox one > ps4. If Microsoft can only get a nice lineup of exclusives other than Halo and Gears Of War.

(quick jab at wyatt : them next gen graphics leepfrog mobile by some years well eh, just saying :) , P.S. where we split thread?)

Well...this complicates things... http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-require-internet-connection-cant-play-o-509164109

M$ needs to come out definitively and state once and for all what the 'online' requirements are.

Hands-on with Xbox One's new gamepad, 'impulse triggers' included

If there's one thing we never realized, it's how much time our thumbs spend glued not to the top of the thumbsticks, but to the sides of it. The new texture and thickened edges on the analog sticks add a real grippiness to the sticks. If it keeps us from slipping and missing a heashot even once, that's enough to appreciate the difference.

Now, what you're really here for -- how do the impulse triggers feel? Well, they feel weird. They feel super, super weird. The only demo were were able to control was extremely brief. In it, a helicopter goes up, and then down. In that process, you can feel the impulse triggers vibrating wildly. Though they were identical in terms of rumble applied to each trigger, we're told it can applied by developers similarly to controller rumble. The rumble in the controller we used was extremely strong, and that makes sense given the placement of the rumble motors -- directly inside each of the triggers.

From the brief demo, we can't quite tell if rumble triggers will be a game changer, exactly, but it sure is a noticeable change from the past. Like any other game technology, the real test will be with games that take advantage of its promise (or not) -- we're looking to E3 to make that rest a reality.

lol @ that xbox one summary vid

TV TV COD TV SPORT COD TV

funny as hell

But yes, I will definitely be buying one (God willing) because they had me at Halo.

So that isn't even an issue.

I've also been extremely impressed with Kinect....so definitely looking forward to Kinect 2.0. The sky is the limit with that technology. Especially for sports, fitness and kiddie games. Family fun here we come.

Messiah, this is playing straight into my prophecy.

I said...consoles will pwn PCs.

Then mobile will pwn consoles.

With this new generation, the PC era is all but over.

And given the specs of the xbox one and PS4, I can easily see mobile equating them in five years.
