True portability
The Razer Blade weighs less than 7lbs and measures less than 1 inch thin. Go anywhere and play anything, while carrying a gaming laptop designed to deliver the power of a desktop without the weight.

Incredible performance
The Razer Blade accelerates your gaming experience with a fast Intel Core i7 processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GT555M graphics processor with 2GB of dedicated memory. This means you play games as they were made to be enjoyed and be blown away by the immersive game visuals on a brilliant and crisp LED-backlit high-definition 1080p 17.3” display.

Switchblade User Interface
The Razer™ Switchblade UI is an all-new innovative user interface designed from the ground up to make your gaming experience more efficient, intuitive, and exciting. Bind an infinite number of commands, skills, and macros to the 10 dynamic adaptive tactile keys with matching icon overlays for the game you’re playing. The full-color vibrant LCD panel below the keys is capable of two modes: one mode displays in-game information; the second mode functions as an ultra-sensitive multi-touch track-panel designed for gamers on-the-go.

Razer is continually working with leading game developers to develop even more intuitive Switchblade User Interface applications and features and will announce them as soon as they are available.

Good looking machine, nice spec bump over the blade 1.0. That custom lcd is a nice touch too but really over $2k us will be a hard pill to swallow for most.

Usual overpriced razer product, difference is this machine actually doesn't seem to suck.

After my experience with razer mice, i say never again with a razer product. They look good on paper, but as captain awesome hinted, they suck! To pay 2k$ for one of that and it spoil in a few weeks wont be nice atal.

would be a hard pill to swallow for those not working USD.

2000USD is like 2000TT for those guys over there..

but for us, it is as good as $12,000 TTD..

laptop looks good... waiting for some lengthy over time reviews.

I like it...a LOT.

...and for what's on offer here, $2500 US isn't that bad.
Alienware has been getting away with murder for years...and don't get me started on that other companies' products.

If you have to bitch about the price, then you're already outside the target market.

Were I in possession of an odd, extra 2.5K US, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Solid gaming on the go, without much compromise, and a pretty fast machine to boot?
I'd buy it.

No one did not say it was not alot of money..

It is easier to acquire 2000USD if you are working in the USD market than in the TTD market.

Then again, you are not in our shoes here in trini.

Been working in trini for 7 years, i know exactly how it is. But their are millions of ppl in the US cetching they ass too, and cannot afford such products. Some mite ship out and earn alot more, but that's the minority, not the majority. Their are many in trinidad that are better off and faster able to afford that razer, than those who working for the US$.

But anyway, back on topic, the Razer Blade's target market is gamers, and imo 2500$ US coudl get u a much dreader gaming rig, plus a tablet, than that razer. But i guess if u want portable gaming and you already have a beast machine at home, and have nothing better to spend the $ on, go wild. But i dont know anybody on this forum who going to watch that razer and actually buy it @ that price. $2500 getting u a judgement beast machine with 680 SLI, and high end specs. Id choose that any day over a blade.

...but would a 2500-dollar 'judgement beast machine' be portable?  That's the whole point.

Clearly there's a market for this, and you ain't it.  Beastly gaming desktop or not, this laptop is totally worth it...to me at least.

Granted, if you want portable gaming it's a good option, but the question i put to you sir, are you buying one? You coudl say you would buy one as much as u want, but the end of d day practicality of it for most ppl here doesnt make sense. D day you buy one ill eat my words with ketchup.

Like I said, it will sell in the USA, no doubt there. Someone looking into a machine to game will be able to afford it. So talk of those who not well off and what not do not matter here because if they cannot afford it, they would not be "shopping" around for a beast.

Arc you asked a good question. Let me say that I have owned 1 gaming laptop in the past and it very portable. Just dont go into the idea expecting it to be nothing super portable.

I would certainly buy one if I could afford it...and therein lies the rub.  :)
I don't happen to have an extra 2500 US lying about.

The way my bank account is setup...I may not be able to buy one... :laughing7:

The new version is the one with the Nvidia 660M GPU in it.  That's the one I want.

Way I see it...this is a flagship product....

By next year, it will be half the price and affordable.

Right now, it is priced for early adopters as is the norm in this industry.

Everyone balked at those SSD prices when they first came out. Look at us now. Enthusiasts the world over buying 'em like kisscake.

Wyatt, SSD prices did not take 1 year to drop eh, it take several lololol. Id say about 3.
I doubt that razer dropping to half price by next year. D old razer going for 2300$ on amazon still, lololol,

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blade-RZ09-00710100-R3U1-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B007E8TWQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349704416&sr=8-1&keywords=razer+blade

Premium product is right, only a select few buying that shit. I usually am an advocate for premium products eh, but that piece of shit not worth it imo. With the advent of Broadband for home and Angry Birds / Plant vs Zombie, mobile high end gaming has lost it's appeal, And then there is always the DS for the younger crowd. And with a NVIDIA GeForce GT555M in that, i wont even call that high end gaming. Meh is d more appropriate word lol.

If yuh really want a laptop u could pickup and go to game anywhere, ill post what men should be looking at for d same price.

Ah Llil Dell/Alienware MX18
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dkdwlx1&model_id=alienware-m18x-r2&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19

18"
6gb ram (upgradable all the way up to 32)
Dual 7970s Crossfire for $2550,
U can even bump up to dual GTX 680m if you want to but more cash,

The alienware and them pricey, but at least it pricey for a good reason, best mobile performance you can ask for.

That razer just pricey because of a few gimick features ud use for d first week or 2, then u done with that. It may be alot lighter and more portable than the alien, but the compromise in performance for that mobility is rel huge.

Yeah, well maybe two to three years. Point is, the price will come down and we will be able to have that cool tech available to the masses.

No need to balk now. Debut pricing is often ridiculous.

The Dell looking decent but not as wicked looking as the Razer Blade
