Yeah, that Second Son bundle is gonna move some UNITS.

I wonder if it will move more units than the Xbone Titanfall bundle?

The upcoming Xbox One Titanfall bundle is a brilliant move by Microsoft to encourage hesitant gamers to reconsider picking up the new console, but it might not be having as big of an impact as the company had hoped.DualShockers noticed that GameStop started taking preorders on a PlayStation 4 bundle that includes Infamous: Second Son, an extra controller and one year of PlayStation Plus for $570 (I’ll spare you the math: there’s no discount on that bundle), yet it currently tops the best-selling list on GameStop’s website. The Xbox One Titanfall bundle is sitting at No. 12.

In summation, we have what amounts to a free copy of one of the most hyped games of 2014 selling less units than Xbox Live gift cards and Lego games while an unofficial bundle that offers no additional savings has stolen the top spot.

No, this is not an indication of how well theTitanfall bundle will sell, how well either of these games will sell or how well the consoles are performing — but it is one more sign that the fervor over the PlayStation 4 hasn’t begun to die down yet. In my very limited personal experience, the Xbox One is far easier to find on store shelves than the PS4, which could be due to countless factors, but nevertheless is contributing to the panic every time a new PS4 bundle goes on sale.

This mania won’t last forever, but it is surprising to see a free copy of a highly anticipated game fail to make a dent in sales. We will be sure to keep an eye out on the results when the official Xbox One bundle ships on March 11th.

I'll admit that titan fall looks great but you got to take 2 things into account
1. It's a multiplayer online only game and
2. The Xbox one version while still impressive does not look as good as its PC counterpart now if they staggered the launch a bit and say made it a xbox exclusive for a couple months they would move more systems for those impatient  and must have it now crowd.
but that's just my 2 cents

Hmm... We all have our flaws don't we?

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/03/killzone-shadow-fall-multiplayer-doesnt-run-at-1080p-natively?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook

Quote
Despite claims from Sony suggesting otherwise, the multiplayer mode in Killzone: Shadow Fall does not run natively at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

In a new Digital Foundry report exploring the prospect of allowing games to run at 60 frames per second at a resolution of 720p rather than 30 frames per second at 1080p, Shadow Fall's resolution and framerate were examined. The single-player does indeed run at full 1080p (albeit with an unlocked framerate and a recently added option to lock it at 30 FPS), but multiplayer does not. Instead, it uses a framebuffer of 960x1080 -- as opposed to the standard 1080p resolution of 1920x1080 -- that allows it to average about 50 FPS.

"Shadow Fall uses a horizontal interlace, with every other column of pixels generated using a temporal upscale - in effect, information from previously rendered frames is used to plug the gaps," the report explains. "The fact that few have actually noticed that any upscale at all is in place speaks to its quality, and we can almost certainly assume that this effect is not cheap from a computational perspective. However, at the same time it also confirms that a massive reduction in fill-rate isn't a guaranteed dead cert for hitting 60fps."

Sony has claimed in the past that the competitive multiplayer and single-player both run at 1080p and 60 frames per second. However, developer Guerrilla Games itself has made it clear the framerate is not locked at 60 in either mode, as it instead uses techniques that it claims make Shadow Fall look "a lot more detailed and vibrant than a lot of the other games we are in direct competition with."

Whatever the particulars may be, Shadow Fall's visuals were among the things praised in IGN's review of the PS4 launch game last year. PS4 owners who haven't been able to try it out for themselves will soon be able to download it and check out its multiplayer, which will be made available for free for the next week.

I must say it is an absolute farce that next gen consoels are struggling with 1080p.

Really expected that to be the obvious new standard both device would meet...as a baseline.

Considering their specs remain unchanged for 5 years plus after release.

Especially with the drastic fall in LCD prices, pretty much most homes will be sporting 1080p screens in the living room soon enough.

Agreed. In this day and age 1080p should not be something any 'next gen' system struggling to reach.

My interest in getting a next gen system has plummeted significantly, especially since im not seeing any must get games yet. Infamous looks awesome however, and im waiting to see how uncharted turns out. Most likely neither console seeing me till next year, or even year after, when there is a significant library to warrant purchase.

You guys must realize that it takes more than a custom APU to play at 1080p @ 60 FPS.

Think about it like this. If it costs a PC gamer $250-$400 USD to purchase a discrete GPU that can ONLY run a game on full settings at 1080p when coupled with a system that costs $500+ USD (MB, RAM, CPU, PSU), how can a $400 or $500 USD piece of equipment come close to matching that level of performance.

Sacrifices need to be made somewhere to deliver the best possible performance per game. To be quite fair, developers managed to make games look beautiful on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Luckily some of those games didn't have a PC counter part to compare to though. =p

And sadly many of the ones that do are ports. Still though, credit where it's due.

Also, what exactly is happening in that .gif btw? Rainbow Rave powers?
