That performance, for the price...is downright impressive. Properly well put the GTX 770 in its place for 100 US less too.
GG AMD...that is what you call bang-for-buck.

Your move Nvidia. (Although I feel the moon will turn into cheese before Nvidia feels compelled to drop prices

Performance for the price should really have Nvidia embarrassed right now. For $100 less you get more or less the same performance is not bad at all...although I must admit for the 290x's significantly wider memory bus and extra stream processors, I expected it to be higher performing against the 780. It really points to a less efficient running card with high power draw and heat generation. Even on a stock cooler a 780 remains cool and quiet.

Nvidia could easily wash out AMD's parade by simply matching the price.

AMD's reference cooler isn't the best. It never is unfortunately. With the after market coolers still to come, we'll probably see a noise and temp reduction.

I doubt Nvidia will have a price drop anytime soon but that's probably the only way they'll be able to match that.

What i find most impressive is the Xfire without the bridge. Very interesting innovation they had there.

This kind of competition is epic though. It keeps nvidia honest and on their toes. I just wish AMD could do the same in the CPU segment. Can't argue with more power for less.

What does Nvidia do instead of dropping prices?.... Release a competing product that is probably more expensive (780 Ti).

They done sell madd 770/780 so there's probably not a compelling need to lower prices.
Consumers will decide the R9's fate.

Impressive performance nonetheless.

Ordered mine from TigerDirect. On a side note, if you're getting it from there, make sure and tell TD to say that the item is a computer component on the invoice as the morons shipping it to Trinidad might think it's a gaming console and add tax and vat to it. Like they did to me.

For whatever reason, Amazon is always out of stock when it comes to those cards. Only the stock, no OC, they have and those sell out extremely fast too.
