Saw that videa earlier.. Alyuh cud tell me why I would want an iPad or Android tablet when Surface 2 doing all that out the box? Surface2 FTW yes.

Surface pro 2 FTMFW lol. If the SP2 can run Dota well you will see two gaming laptops on the trading grounds soon. MessiaaH first thing you do when you get yours run a test for a brother.

Anyways,

First things first, that video I posted above about the capabilities of the Surface, was not for the pro, That's d Surface 2 aka Surface 2 RT doing that........ yea.......

As for the Surface Pro 2, I just tested DOTA, and I'm getting a constant 30 FPS (I'm guessing the game is capped at that). Using these settings:

1920*1080:

The specular was giving me 30 at first, but in combat it drop to 20, so I disable that and that look like d sweetspot. I was actually surprised it was able to run at 1920*1080 with medium shadows and a few of those bells and whistles switched on and actually run smoothly. Was fully expecting to have to drop the resolution, but I didn't, runs native 1080p, very impressive showing from a 7hr battery life 10" portable pc.

BTW, all tests were ran in battery mode, I'm sure if I plugged in and the CPU/GPU get cranked I coulda flick on that specular and be fine.

And alyuh men feel alyuh smart, trick me into testing DOTA then time yUh do so, MessiaaH up in the dance, hooked like everybody else. Just as I feel myself starting to say..." hmmm, you know this ain't half bad, it actually going good" ah press alt+f4

Thanks for the test. That is fantastic news.

My dota runs @ 60 fps. So not sure why yours appeared capped to 30

30 is playable though.

Look one there, and they have a 8" version for like 350 and thing. So there are dog cheap full fledged 8.1 devices to be had. Of corset the performance wont be as good as a Surface Pro. And it wont have the design and accessories etch, But if u wanted they are there.
