Time to get your southern-fried zombie-butchering groove on with the Left 4 Dead 2 demo, available now to Xbox 360 gamers who pre-ordered the game, though the Windows version's been delayed a hair to Wednesday. The demo pits up to four players against moldering hordes of undead in the first two levels of the cajun-themed New Orleans "Parish" campaign.

Demo-goers can sample the cooperative play survival horror game's new "boss" zombies and swing a few of the added melee weapons. I'm not sure which in the demo, but the game's full list includes baseball and cricket bats, crowbar, electric guitar, fire axe, frying pan, katana, machete, police baton, and the indefatigable chainsaw. (What, no garden shears?)

LAN and online play are both supported on the demo, and the Xbox version includes split-screen play for a little old fashioned side-by-side corpse-mashing. If you didn't pre-order, you can download the PC demo next Tuesday, November 3. As well, Xbox LIVE "Gold" members, though Xbox LIVE "Silver" members will have to wait until the following Tuesday, November 10.

Like its predecessor, Left 4 Dead 2 riffs on the old apocalyptic flesh-eating pandemic trope, pitting up to four human players against hordes of ghoulish undead in cooperative free-for-alls. The object remains safe extraction from zombie-riddled areas, with rare intermediary safe houses offering respite. The final version begins in Savannah, George and concludes in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Remember the headline-grabbers earlier this year about those foul-mouthed fan boycotts? All's well, it seems. A vocal minority balked (and other b-words) at Valve's decision to release L4D2 barely one year after the original. Valve settled up by flying a few of the boycott leaders in to sample the game, culminating in the boycott's conclusion a few weeks ago.

Score one for junkets.

The offer is strange, not just because of the Hollywood branding or the lack of optical media. The offer is strange because Microsoft isn't promoting the free download of either movie through Xbox Live. USB sticks? Really

This Joker Xbox 360 mod is one of the greatest I have ever seen because it is an ode to the Joker from the Dark Knight, includes the catch phrase ‘Why So Serious?’, has a cool Joker face popping out and also the Batman logo to hold it all together.

The latest Batman movie the Dark Knight should have been called the Joker, for that character stole the show and was an amazing performance by the late Heath Ledger. As the creator and tipster, Carl, who send us the images would probably agree, this specific Xbox mod is definitely a tribute to that character, that performance and simply seems a little more ‘dark’.

While there have been so many different Xbox 360 mods, this one by Carl Butler really takes the cake, for it is absolutely stunning. The Joker’s presence really comes out…literally…and provides a great tribute to the Batman villain and the late Heath Ledger. The specs are the same as we have been accustomed to in the Xbox 360, but besides the great visuals, the actual skin looks like leather as if sown together piece by piece. It is truly a remarkable Xbox 360 console mod and I would hope such creation would be available for purchase.

Unfortunately, it is not a mass marketed Xbox 360 mod, nor should such a masterpiece by made public, for it would lose the cool factor and become a meaningless art piece.
