dammit. i still at 12th. i have to admit even for an intel preacher like myself AMD come real flipping good with them thar phenom IIs

by any chance you try the downgrade bios to see if you have a locked 4th core and not a bad one?

i remember reading that AMD had to 'downgrade' some phenom ii x4s yuh never know man you might have gotten a 'free' core ;p

I was thinking the same I assure you, but I can't seem to find the darn ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) in my bios to unlock the 4th core... might have have to downgrage my BIOS... since I read that certain mobo makers were disabling the ACC to prevent unlocking of the cores.

Nah not fraid, I pushed it up to 3.8GHz but there are posting issues at that clock. Even if I push the Core voltage up to 1.55V (which imho is pretty ballsy) it won't post. So 3.712GHz is my highest stable atm. I may try 3.9GHz as i've seen sometimes certain frequencies are unstable and higher ones are not.. go figure.

nice work there w1ntry. that Phenom II x3 720 is a beaut of a chip. Can you help start the ball rolling by adding a Vantage ranking list, I think it's long overdue.

ctrl-F1 in bios on the gigas, if you didn't find it already, does give you a crap load of options. i din even know my board had so many voltage options till i hit that.

you should prob google what giga calls acc as i know some boards manus don't use the default

Nice speeds for ddr2 indeed. I believe that it doesnt get much better than that for ddr2. And much respect for pulling out that extra core from nowhere. Gotta love that x3 for price vs performance.

but i think u might have a task to keep the cpu stable with the 4th core unlocked. It was turned off for a reason. I wish you all the ninja luck in da world meng!

some of them were defected but some were turned off so that x3 demands could be met, in other words, there is a chance that w1nny have a perfectly good core but it just disabled. much testing must ensue to determin that though.

but if he indeed good one of the few. go' damn meng, wtf, you shoulda play ah lotto rather than by that chip qui!

The reason it's at that res is cause I was using the HD. When I benchmarking for scoring purposes I use the LCD @ standard res 1280x1024. I was late for work getting already when I did this, so I just posted that for a first glance. When I get home is LEVEL OC NO JUTSU!!! As for linpack, I downloaded it from intel website but it did not run on my rig... must have a >>#if CPU!=Intel; exec=KILL.linpack.exe
