Yo, yea this anime has been arround for awhile now (the manga even longer!) But its a good one, no kinda super powers business and ting...but its good

Quote
George Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo (The First Step) manga published by Kodansha in Shonen Magazine is headed for a TV series anime adaptation in Japan as well as the PlayStation 2 game. Hajime no Ippo focuses on a young boxer, Magunochi Ippo.

Magunochi Ippo is an ordinary high school student in Japan. Since he spends most of his time away from school helping his mother run the family business, he doesn't get to enjoy his younger years like most teenagers. Always a target for bullying at school (the family fishing business grants him a distinct odor), Ippo's life is one of hardship.

One of these after-school bullying sessions turns Ippo's life around for the better, as he is saved by a boxer named Takamura. He decides to follow in Takamura's footsteps and train to become a boxer, giving his life direction and purpose. Ippo's path to perfecting his pugilistic prowess is just beginning ...

Only down side is dat its up to 75 Episodes...so its alot to..."aquire" legally or otherwise

PS get the subs, cuz IMO the dual audio sucks, they totally butchered the english voices with poor choices.

yeah they probably took off the older episodes, they tend to do that, to keep space for the new episodes

but i left taku after posting up to 29 and they didnt bother to post the rest up

i mean, the episodes are still on the ftp server but meh who cares

As far as sports anime go, I started Eyeshield 21 - not bad so far, just broke into the mid 20 episodes.

After the first episode of the Takamura vs. Hawk match I couldn't wait and started reading the manga. Does not disappoint at all.

I was pretty sad to see the new challenger only has 26 episodes. But fear not ippo fans, the sequel is in planning stage

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-06-12/sequel-to-hajime-no-ippo/new-challenger-being-planned

don't know when it will be out (my guess will be january next year) but as long as it comes back.

Fantastic series.
