Well bush on another note, he coulda wait and go Opteron 185 which is dual core 2.6GHz default and should be less than the FX60.... but the price and availablilty of that won't be out till later this month. I agree with the X1900XTX, for less you would have gotten more. Basically to be honest, ur rig is good, but in about 2 weeks you could  have built 1 to DESTROY it. You see ATI is bringing out its RD580 chipset which has better OCing than the nforce 4 by a significant margin apparently (hitting 300MHZ HT easy without changing the multiplier, YEAH 1500MHz HT) and it features 16x2 PCIe slots. Also ATIs implementation of Crossfire is better than Nvidia's nforce4 32lane. Something to do with less hops... anyways point is, in say 2 weeks yuh coulda go Opteron 185, Asus Crossfire deluxe AND X1900XT Crossfire or single X1900XTX for the same price or less. But hey thats teh way the PC world goes. At the end of the day, yuh have a rig that is currently unchallenged in all of GATTdom.

i must admit i'm didn't do the research that i should of apparently, however comparing the price to different rigs online, not considering the 'u shoulda waited' stuff i got a damn good deal

however i'm now faced with a new dilemma, how to transport it, ah mean i have to show this thing off at least once, go down to techsource and let everyone know she's comin, but this isn't meh previous $5,500 machine, sweat does pour from meh pours jus to touch the power button or the dvdrw drive button....sigh

new system new problems i guess

bushman i conceed that i shoulda waited a lil longer, but the point is i have my system here and now and i'm lovin it

Wha?  Didn't nvidia bring out the nforce 4 and SLI to AMD first?  crixx makes no sense

Price for performance , the best buy would have been an opteron 165 , and some low latency DDR500 , and a single  or dual 7900 GT   ( now available, he coulda wait a little longer if he knew it was coming) which at default clock is slightly  faster than a 7800 GTX , and due to its 90nm process i'm sure it will overclock much higher .
I don't like  the idea of spending money on high end rigs, I prefer  to buy mid range parts every two years... look how long it took the 6600gt to become obselete vs the 6800 ultra , even the X1600XT when it released last year got beaten by a 6600 in tests like Doom III and Quake IV .

*****. atleast i deal with facts.  ATI once upon a time used to have driver problems. thats is nilonger the case.a nd if u wanna talk abotu **** ups wat about the fx series from nvidia? i could go on and on about problems nvidia has as well as ATI. or i should say problems they had. both companies have come a long way that those little things are not determining factors any longer. wat is however the determining factor is bang for your buck. and since the 9800 ATI  has held the crown. they slipped alittle with the x1800xt series a bit but where still competitive.

o btw only 239 more hotmails to go crixx

The FX-57 does have a higher core clock, but the FX-60 is dual core and has more cache, if I remember correctly, thus it is faster than the FX-57 overall. Something to keep in mind nowadays is that you can no longer directly compare processors by simply looking at their core frequency...i.e. 2.6GHz vs. 2.8GHz etc...you also need to take into consideration how much cache they have and whether they are dual core etc.

As for the talk of Opterons, the Opteron 165 in particular is a great price/performance processor that can be overclocked handsomely. It's only a 1.8GHz processor, but can be easily overclocked to 2.6GHz on just air cooling...with the stock HSF I might add. It's also dual core and available for around the US$325 price point.
