They say only an unasked question is a stupid one...plus, I just wanna make sure...

But this is residential we are talking about right? Cause I really dont see any real downsides to this...and seems to be almost too good to be true!

well,well,well,...TSTT looks to be in good fortune...with the amount they make already with the cell phone market, internet connection,...in the past yrs its no surprise really that they are on a major upgrade of their core systems...being it towers, cable,...or watever....the main concern is however will the services they r providing or planning to provide be affordable to their target consumers and at wat prices...major investment =major bucks...just pondering out loud...but thank GOD FINALLY!!!!!
may all ur endeavours be fulfilled with the blessing of buddah!!

As for the bandwith of this new wireless system, how much does a CDMA wireless device demands? i mean this network supported a ton+ load of phones..... so it should have enough bandwith to deal with everybody downloading the world...... they have an enormous amount of people taking wired dsl not everyone knows of EV-DO also i dont see more than half of the wired community switching netime soon because of TSTT contracts.... people owning wired systems have to wait till their contracts have been satsfied then consider the option.... of course unless you are blessed with mucho deniro then u get both :P

it should work out well in the end TSTT realizes that that they need their "A" game so they only pelting Trump on the board to secure the internet market

*me thinks*

are they tryng to woo the nation into EV-DO because of some unforseen NEW thing waiting in the back that poses a threat???? hmmmm

A well planned, implemented and maintained CDMA network supposed to more than service the bandwidth needs of a small country such as ours. Yes the contracts would prevent alot or people (including myself) from taking up EV-DO. The question is how is the introduction of EV-DO is going to influence the current wired rates. Seeing that it is a TSTT service, there's no doubt in my mind that in the end it will cost significantly more for that calibre of wireless service than the curent wired service. It is also possible that they could launch a separate wired package that is as fast as EV-DO and price that a lil cheaper.

As far as i'm concerned, Laqtel look like they buss....soo nothing from them in the near future whicih leaves digicel. It will be interesting to see what cards they have in their hand

I dont think this has anything to do with you being a resident....it is a mobile product,....kinda like when ur buyin a cellphone, instead is wireless internet....having a LAN-line or not doesnt matter.....it's all personal wireless connection almost anywhere in the country....

They also did not mention in any of the online documents if the charges varied for either Residential or Commercial. They did however included a tick box for you to indicate as to which one you wanted to apply for. check out the app form.

But nothing was mentioned about a business line or separate fees for a business...

Code Division Multiple Access is like all the tech before it built on previous stuff. TDMA-GSM(PSM on TDMA) now CDMA. Basically (if I recall correctly) they use different coded bits over a wide range of frequencies, with each conversation being identified by the code it uses. The nice thing about it, is that as you load up more users/traffic you don't lose a frequency range (like GSM) or a time slot (like TDMA) but you do get more noise on the channel. 3G (CDMA) networks is HUGE in Europe and they get up to 3MBps or more commonly >700kbps on widely used networks. Since this wireless option is more costly and is so far solely based on data traffic as opposed to vioce (which inherenetly eats 64k) this network should suffice for a while. Time will tell.

me and baego have been testing the gamability of EVDO using hamachi to set up a virtual lan , the lag is pretty bad actually , it will be impossible to play FPS games on it,  when he hosted the game itself , even DOTA became a pain, it played like it was on a bad dial up connection ...
great for downloading , not for gaming.

i was using my dsl , he was on EV-DO ,  when he hosted  warcraft it lagged like dial up that eat a bad doubles, when i hosted he got some trouble too ...
EV-DO is not for gaming , but its better off than greendot...  Likely i believe TSTT will upgrade DSL bandwidth when it releases to the public , or  they will downgrade EV-DO bandwidth to make sure there isn't too much load on their system..
What i want from TSTT is some form of WAN with lots of bandwidth , like 6mbits , to connect internet cafe's and home pcs,   it will in fact reduce  usage of off island bandwidth as men like us keep downloading the SAME LINUX ISO'S OVER AND OVER ,  imagine the amount of bandwidth we could save if we just swapped the LATEST VERSIONS OF LINUX over a WAN?
Plus it will allow for  cheap game servers .. bf2 and the like .
